Commemorating Gov. Newsom’s ‘Bold Leadership’ with California Innovation Coin Contest

California has developed a truly unrivaled method of incinerating money

Editor’s Note: The Globe received this letter to Governor Gavin Newsom and wants our readers to enjoy it as well.

Dear Gov. Newsom,

I would like to humbly submit the entries below for the California Innovation Coin Contest.

Under your bold leadership, California has developed a truly unrivaled method of incinerating money. While most people would think it impossible to spend $24 billion on homelessness only to see the problem grow rapidly, you have proved the naysayers wrong. Like a perpetual motion machine operating in reverse, you have seemingly broken the laws of physics to pour an unlimited amount of energy and resources into homelessness programs while producing no results.

To commemorate your momentous innovation, it would only be appropriate to select one of the designs below that recognize the condition of California’s streets, parks and sidewalks that have resulted from your leadership:

I look forward to seeing one of these designs in production.

Best regards,

Jim Stanley

P.S. I don’t think minting a bunch of $1 coins will put much of a dent in the $73 billion deficit you’ve presided over, but you certainly get points for creativity.

  1. HA HA HA! This is so GREAT.
I think the Gov should get over himself and pick one of these to mint.
    I would definitely buy one.
Thanks so much for sharing this!

    1. I would like to buy one also Showandtell. Get my Christmas shopping done early for my lefty cousin!

  2. I have always wanted to change “EUREKA” on the State Seal to “BOHICA” *
“Bend Over, Here It Comes Again”

  3. Those tents on the coins have a resemblance to what is going on college campuses in our state and the country for that matter. And not one Dem mayor or governor is doing anything about it. That includes Governor Climate Change.

  4. The coin contest is just the 257th version of Gavin’s self-glorifyed Gaslighting — Another distraction from his failure to give the “State of the State” speech or to acknowledge that “Rome is burning” on his watch.

    1. I’m sure Newsom meant to distract but it sure did backfire in a big way. This item went seriously viral, seemingly to the four corners of the earth after Fox and Red State picked it up, and everyone had a good laugh at these suggestions for a CA coin as well as additional, equally funny ones. It’s nice to have a comedy break every now and then at the expense of the Worst Governor Ever.

  5. It’s funny since I no longer live in California.

I can’t figure out what is wrong with people there. Why would anyone time after time vote in a governor who is intent on turning cities & the State of California into a place nobody wants to live in?
