Disgraced Congresswoman Katie Hill Forms Political PAC And Announces A Coming Memoir

Disgraced former Congresswomen, Katie Hill is determined to capitalize on her political scandals with a memoir, “She Will Rise” and a political action committee called, HER Time. Hill resigned in October after a public saga of alleged criminal and ethical indiscretions.

Hill, 32 when she landed a seat in the House of Representatives as an openly bi-sexual but married progressive Democrat who took over a longstanding Republican district. She also catapulted to a powerful House Oversight Committee as vice-chair less than ten months in office.

Hill is not one to be silent. She publicly resigned with a broadcasted speech on Oct. 27, “It is with a broken heart that today I announce my resignation from Congress.”

However,  instead of apologizing for her bad behaviors in her resignation speech, she played the victim, blaming an allegedly abusive husband and Republican operatives.

Hill ended her speech vowing to fight and help other women run for office. Her promise to help other women run for office has rung true with her new PAC.

At the MAKERS conference in Los Angeles this month, Hill announced the PAC dedicated to support and empower young women who want to run for political office.

Last week HER Time endorsed the first five candidates to be supported by the PAC: Candace Valenzuela of Texas, Audrey Denny of California, Rhonda Fox of North Carolina, Gina Ortiz of Texas and Christy Smith of California.

“These five women exemplify what HER Time is all about,” tweeted Hill from @Hertime2020.

Hill is working hard to fill congressional seats in California.

Christy Smith (D-38)  has only been in the State Assembly since 2018 and now wants to replace Hill in Congress in the 25th District. Smith voted for Assembly Bill 5 in her first year in office which put thousands of people out of work who worked as independent contractors and freelancers.

AB5, popularly known as the “gig worker bill,” was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom in September 2019. It went into effect on Jan. 1, 2020, and requires companies that hire independent contractors to reclassify them as employees, with a few exceptions. The bill expands on a ruling made in a case that reached the California Supreme Court in 2018, Dynamex Operations West, Inc. vs. Superior Court of Los Angeles.

Smith raised more than $2 million in campaign funds in her race for State Assembly and over $1-million for her Congressional race. Michael Garcia (R) who running against Smith has out-raised her by a narrow margin.

The second candidate in California that Hill is endorsing For Congress is Audrey Denny in the 1st District. This is Dennys’s second attempt to oust Republican Congressman Doug LaMalfa. In 2018 LaMalfa received 54.9% of the vote and Denny received 45.1%.

As Hill tries to reinvent herself, she continues to play the victim and refuses to admit she played the role of predator. The Democrat Party in 2017 started the #MeToo movement to fight against sexual harassment and sexual assault; actions Hill has been accused of partaking.

In October an avalanche of accusations came falling on Hill. Photos were published by Red State and the DailyMail.com that showed Hill allegedly smoking a bong, donning an alleged Nazi symbol tattoo, brushing the hair of a female co-worker while nude, partaking in “throuples” with her husband, and having an alleged affair with a staffer.

Additionally, emails and texts were released from her staff concerned about her getting drunk and missing flights when traveling back and forth between Washington D.C. and California.

DailyMail.com also reported they had obtained a “cache of texts and intimate photographs which revealed Hill and Heslep had posted her naked photos online under a thread called ‘WouldYouF**kMyWife’?”

A complaint was also filed with the FEC by 31-year Simi Valley resident and Katie Hill constituent, Stephen Frank.

“Congresswoman Katie Hill disrespected a young girl, a male staffer, her donors and the taxpayers of the United States. I am looking forward to a complete investigation of this matter.  She has hired the same legal firm used by Hillary Clinton, Perkins and Coie and another attorney, Mark Elias, the facts speak for them themselves,” wrote Frank in the complaint. “The people of the 25th District deserve better than an immature member of Congress using her hormones instead of her common sense of right and wrong.”

Hill’s memoir being published by the Hachette Book Group is set to be released In August 2020. The book is supposed to include a map toward gender equality and will include a visit through her scandalous year meant to inspire women to move past their own mistakes.

Hill told the New York Times, “It would be much easier for me to just disappear, but I’m not, and this is an act of defiance, staying in the forefront,” Hill said. “You can’t let other people take away your power or your voice, even when it’s hard.”
