If You Like Your Gas Stove, You Can Keep Your Gas Stove

Trump Energy Department slashing unnecessary red tape and regulations that raise prices, reduce consumer choice, and frustrate the American people

They are coming for your gas-powered car, your gas stove, your gas water heater, your gas furnace, your gas dryer, your gas grille, your gas blower, your gas fireplace, and any other gas-powered appliance or vehicle you can think of. Or they were…

The Trump Administration’s Energy Department is rolling back the Biden Administration’s draconian regulations on appliances.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright announced this week that the Department of Energy has further postponed the implementation of three of the Biden-Harris administration’s restrictive mandates on home appliances.

As the Globe explained in December:

California is set to become the first state to ban natural gas heaters, water heaters, and furnaces by 2030, a policy of the California Air Resources Board, entirely made up of appointees by the governor, I reported in 2023 in The Tangled Government Web Behind the Push to Ban Gas Stoves, where we link Harvard Health Publishing, the Rocky Mountain Institute,  MDPI International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) National Library of Medicine. NIH is the largest source of funding for medical research in the world. The WHO is named in the studies, as are many Chinese studies.

These groups were behind the Biden administration’s attempt to ban gas stoves and gas appliances.

In 2022 The Guardian reported that “the emission of toxic chemicals and carcinogens from gas stoves is creating indoor pollution worse than car traffic.”

The Guardian says “research has repeatedly found the emission of toxic chemicals and carcinogens from gas stoves, even when they are turned off, is creating a miasma of indoor pollution.”

This research link is from Harvard Health Publishing. The article is written by Wynne Armand, MD in September 2022 who claims “Cooking with gas stoves creates nitrogen dioxide and releases additional tiny airborne particles known as PM2.5, both of which are lung irritants. Nitrogen dioxide has been linked with childhood asthma. During 2019 alone, almost two million cases worldwide of new childhood asthma were estimated to be due to nitrogen dioxide pollution.”

Total rubbish.

As we’ve reported for many years, Dr. James Enstrom of UCLA long ago debunked the PM2.5 epidemiology. He found no robust relationship between PM2.5 and total mortality. However, this claim about these airborne particles have been used for decades by the government and American Cancer Society “as the primary justification for many costly regulations, most recently the Clean Power Plan,” as Dr. Enstrom explained.

Secretary Wright says the Department of Energy’s notices officially postpone the effective dates for three home appliance rules:

  • Test Procedures for Central Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps
  • Efficiency Standards for Walk-In Coolers and Freezers
  • Efficiency Standards for Gas Instantaneous Water Heaters

So if you like your gas water heaters, walk-in freezers, central air conditioners and heat pumps, you can keep your gas water heaters, walk-in freezers, central air conditioners and heat pumps.

The energy department “has also officially withdrawn four conservation standards, including standards on electric motors, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers, and external power supplies.”

“This continued commitment to the American people will slash unnecessary red tape and regulations that raise prices, reduce consumer choice, and frustrate the American people.”

Be still my beating heart – the Trump administration is cutting red tape, and regulations.

“These actions, taken in accordance with President Donald Trump’s Executive Order, ‘Unleashing Prosperity through Deregulation,’ marks a key step in lowering costs, enhancing performance, and expanding options for American consumers,” Secretary Wright said.

What a difference an election makes.

  1. If the left actually thought gas stoves were bad for your health they would require homes to have one in every single room. Democrats are the party of poison food, poison water, poison air, poison medicine and poison in everything else you buy. If something is good they are against it.

If we want our civilization back we must never forget to support and pray for President Trump.

    1. Agreed, I read somewhere that the folks that are rebuilding in Los Angeles are being strongarmed into installing electric appliances.

        1. You’re right. But aren’t the candles the left wants us to use instead of evil electricity even more dangerous? I mean open flame and all?
But I guess if we return to the caves as the enviro-nutcases want, I suppose the walls are not flammable so that’s good..

        1. So that must mean that the 4 building permits that have been approved so far in this “streamlined’ process must have agreed to be all electric. Sounds like a joke/nightmare to me.

  2. Does President Trump’s Executive Order override CARB’s idiotic ban on the sales of gas heaters, furnaces, and water heaters by 2030? While many of us are happy with President Trump’s Executive Order to roll back back the Biden regime’s draconian regulations on appliances, we’ve unfortunately seen how quickly it can be rescinded if one of the criminal Democrat mafia gets back into the White House. Maybe Congress needs to take action? Can we count on the Republicans to make this change permanent or are there too many traitorous RINOs to make that happen?

  3. …………and gas powered lawn mowers!
These enviro-zealots have put one small mower repair business out of business that I know of.
A&J repair, Loomis Ca. 45 years in business………GONE!
How many more have gone belly up due to this crazy a__ government?

    1. Oh yeah and maybe let us be able to purchase the 1 lb. propane cylinders I use for camping and light the kindling on my wood stove ? I used to use newspaper to do it but there aren’t enough liberal newspapers in print anymore.
