Xavier Becerra, who is MIA on the campaign trail, did a recent radio interview with Tavis Smiley on KBLA Talk 1580.

During the interview, when asked what his “Black agenda is,” and what he would do for Black voters, Becerra said he would not “promise you 40 acres and a mule,” then immediately discussed cash bail reform as proof of his commitment.

Becerra’s first inclination was to focus on Black people being arrested, as if all have interactions with law enforcement.

Becerra paints the Black community as criminals, with this answer.

Steve Hilton today blasted Xavier Becerra for remarks made in the interview, calling them tone-deaf, condescending, and disconnected from the actual priorities of Black Californians.

“This is just the latest example of how utterly out of touch, condescending, and arrogant he is,” said Hilton. “He finally crawls out of bed and this is what he’s got to offer Black people in California? Rambling talking points and an assumption that all Black people are criminals? What a joke. He should get out more—then maybe he would understand the actual priorities of Black Californians.”

This seems to be a common thread with Democrats.

Who could forget when Gavin Newsom was accused of racism after he demeaned the black audience on his book tour: “I Am Like You. I’m A 960 SAT Guy. I Can’t Read,” Newsom told the black moderator. “I’m not trying to impress you. “I’m just trying to impress upon you. I’m… like… you…” he tells Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. “I’m… no… better… than… you. I’m a 960 SAT guy,” Newsom told the Atlanta Mayor in his weird lilted speech.

How upset would Xavier be if Steve or other politicians portrayed Latinos as illegals, gang members, uneducated, or low-skilled?

Or what would our Native American community say if Steve or Xavier portrayed them as alcoholics?

Muslims as terrorists, extremists, or violent?

We have spent generations telling people not to judge others by the color of their skin, and instead on the content of their character, yet here is the leading candidate for governor, associating an entire racial community with criminality, dishonesty, violence, or other negative traits.

When someone commits a crime, that person should be accountable for their actions. But when we allow Xavier Becerra and others to associate an entire racial community with criminal behavior, we replace individual responsibility with collective suspicion.

The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Xavier Becerra is seeking to become Governor of California where more than 200 languages and dialects are spoken. In 2024, about 16.9 million people in California spoke a language other than English at home. That’s about one in two Californians.

Why did Becerra focus on crime and not mention California’s other issues, common to all ethnic groups, and offer solutions on housing, education, gas prices, expensive auto registration, high electricity bills, high taxes, crappy public K-12 schools, and businesses fleeing the state?

Hilton is promising $3 gas, abolish the DMV, $73 car registration, cutting electricity bills in half, no state income tax on your first $150K…

Hilton talked with these guys, who said they have no idea about “the other guy,” Becerra, because he is not campaigning.

  1. It’s the Biden Basement Strategy.
Keep him out of the public eye and his chances increase to win.
Let’s hope only legal ballots are counted this November! 😏
