Scripture is ‘Defacing’ the Giants Uniform Says SF Chronicle on Pride Night
I suspect that if the scripture on the ball caps were written in Arabic, no one would have said a thing

The mainstream San Francisco Chronicle describes Bible verses written on ball caps as “defacing” the San Francisco Giants uniform. Three San Francisco Giants pitchers wrote Bible verses on their LGBT Pride Night caps, and one declined to wear the cap.
Ruh Roh. They didn’t kowtow to the rainbow mafia.
Ann Killion, sports writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, wrote “four pitchers on this woebegone team opted to either deface the official uniform or ignore it altogether.”
…”on a night that was supposed to be about inclusion, they hijacked the event for their own purposes. In the name of Christianity, they took a decidedly un-Christian stance of exclusion and judgment.”
Does she lack self-awareness or does Killion see everything through the LGBTQIA+ lens?
She failed to recognize that the night dedicated to “inclusivity” does not include Christianity. She and the MLB apparently will tolerate this.
Pride celebrations, Pride flags, Pride hats and Pride clothing is okay; Christianity and Bible verses are not okay?
Killion called the pitchers “Snowflakes” and claims they “decided to say a giant F-you to a good chunk of their fan base.”
What about all of the non-LGBT fans who attended the game for the love of baseball and not Pride? Doesn’t the league risk offending them?
Why is this even an issue? Let those who support Pride celebrate it without mandating 100% support of everyone else.
“While the league under Commissioner Rob Manfred eagerly green-lights rainbow alterations and perpetually bows to the LGBT alphabet mafia, it is drawing a firm line at players subtly referencing God’s word,” RedState reported.
“It’s shameful. Utterly shameful.”
It’s worse. The left, and especially the rainbow left, demands total subservience – total buy-in of their agenda, which bows at the alter of sexual orientation, gender fluidity, and trans in every aspect of life, rather than the content of one’s character.
And the MLB is buying into the evil, and criminalizing the Bible verses.
After three San Francisco Giants pitchers appeared in Friday’s game with Bible verses written on their Pride Night caps, MLB issued a warning that similar behavior will not be tolerated.

RedState continues:
According to The Athletic, MLB is putting its collective foot down after San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Landen Roupp and two of his teammates dared to add Bible verses to their ‘Pride Night’ caps. Bible verses, mind you, that explain the true symbolism of the rainbow—God’s covenant with Noah, his descendants, and every living creature after the great flood.
“Similar behavior will not be tolerated,” the report ominously reads.
That warning is backed up by a statement given by Pat Courtney, MLB’s chief communications officer, to Outsports.
“The writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations,” Courtney wrote.
Ann Killion continues:
“Landen Roupp, who got rocked for four earned runs in 4⅔ innings, JT Brubaker, whose scrawl on his cap resembled bathroom-stall graffiti, and deposed closer Ryan Walker, who shouldn’t try to draw any more ire, all wrote a Bible verse on their official game cap. Sam Hentges opted not to wear the hat at all.”
…the “crime” of not wearing the LGBT Pride cap at all?
“It’s just something that I feel like I was forced to support,” said Hentges, who became the first Giants player to refuse to wear the Pride Night gear, “when I don’t morally support it.”
And that is the only point. Why were the Giants players forced to wear the Pride gear at all?
Killion asked, “What about the people who support him, and his team? What about the city whose name is on the front of his uniform, a city that fully backs his team?”
Indeed Ann Killion. What about the people who support him, and his team because of his baseball skills and sportsmanship, and not his sexuality? Isn’t that what most people crave – to be recognized for their character and accomplishments?
She asked, “What about the city whose name is on the front of his uniform, a city that fully backs his team?”
What does any of this have to do with baseball? Why do players have to make social statements on their uniforms?
This was a controversial and construed event that the players were forced to participate in. However, a few players politely declined in a very peaceful way. No harm, no foul.
I suspect that if the messages on the ball caps were written in Arabic, no one would have said a thing.
How about the MLB keep their eyes on the ball and stop using the league as a vehicle to advance Leftist social agendas? If they don’t, it’s the fans who will be increasingly dissociating themselves from the leftist, social messaging of the MLB.
And there is always this:
