Who Did What?

The Republican Party was originally formed as the political arm of the Abolition Movement

I was listening to a radio show on which the host asked his African American guest whether he would vote Republican and for Donald Trump. The guest sounded insulted and answered, ‘are you crazy, the Republican Party is the party of slavery.’ Having a direct ancestor, who served in the 2nd Indiana Cavalry through every day of the Civil War, I knew better. Then I wondered: maybe I know better, but why wouldn’t this guest?

Given the Democrat Party owns our education system and owns the news media, and owns social media, how would anybody know the truth? Maybe it’s believable when Joe Biden says: (if you vote Republican) “they gonna put ya’ll back in chains.” Or when Biden says, “if you vote Republican, then you ain’t black!”

So, what’s the truth? Having won a few awards for truthful, historical writing, I feel I can write it.

Firstly, the Republican Party was originally formed as the political arm of the Abolition Movement, whose sole purpose was to end slavery everywhere it existed. The first serious Republican candidate for the presidency was Abraham Lincoln. His name was banned from the ballots in 11 southern states, the so-called “solid south” of the Democrat Party.

Abraham Lincoln, as Commander in Chief, sent 1,532,278 Union soldiers into action to inflict 490,309 casulties on the South, while incurring 596,670 Union casualties to do so. A whole generation was scourged on this continent to end slavery by way of the leader of the Republican Party.

After the defeat in the Civil War, the still solidly Democrat south enacted Jim Crow laws locally and at the state level of government to segregate the African American population and deny them the right to vote or determine where they could live or where they could work. The judiciary in the south was stacked with Democrat judges, who judged African Americans according to “Black Codes,” which ordained stiffer penalties for the same crimes, than were given to white perpetrators. Democrat Party policy to deny the vote to African Americans was upheld in the south until the Civil Rights Act of 1957, enacted by another Republican president, Dwight D. Eisenhower.  And Jim Crow laws were enforced in the solidly Democrat south until the 1960’s.

What is lesser known historically is the damage done by FDR and Harry Truman. Through the Housing Acts of 1934 and 1949, Democrat bureaucrats in Washington DC determined what urban areas were “redlined” or “blighted,” whose business and property owners had to be dispossessed of their property and moved into “projects,” built by the Democrat Party. Predominantly African American property and business owners were dispossessed by “eminent domain” across the country, from neighborhoods such as “Southwest” in Washington DC; “Vinegar Hall” in Charlottesville; “Mill Creek Valley” in St. Louis:” “Black Bottom” and “Paradise Alley” in Detroit; and “Bunker Hill” in Los Angeles. There and elsewhere, African American business eco-systems and neighborhoods were levelled.

Then came LBJ and the Great Society, which literally took control of the African American family, by destroying it. African Americans who were part of a complete family were not allowed into the projects. If the father were with the family, the benefits were not the same. Then the Democrats took control of education away from the remains of African American families, handing it to the federal Education Department and teacher’s unions.

Stokely Charmichael had it right in the 1960’s, when he marveled at the African Americans who were voting for Democrats, “To ask Negroes to get in the Democrat Party is like asking Jews to join the Nazi Party.”

And the injuries done to African Americans by the Democrat Party did not end in the 1960’s; it continues to this day.

With millions of illegal aliens invading this country, who is getting jobs in urban areas today? For what wages?

With fentanyl being mass shipped over our undefended southern border to U.S urban areas, where drug dealers are given sanctuary, who is overdosing?

With a Democrat policy not to prosecute persons who commit crimes against businesses, who is being robbed? Can black owned businesses survive this?

With the defunding of the police occurring in Democrat run cities nationwide, whose neighborhoods are savaged with every kind of crime? How is anyone supposed to safely raise a family in such a surrounding?

So, African Americans still cannot have the jobs they want to; nor can they live in a safe neighborhood if they want to; nor can they own a business if they should want to; nor can they raise a family as they might want to.

Then a Republican candidate for president comes along, again, who is pro-business, who is pro law and order, who is pro family, and who might actually make life better for the African Americans…

Which takes us right back to 1859, as the Democrats have been trying to ban the Republican candidate from being on the ballot in as many as 12 states. Oh, yes! Thank God! The Supreme Court decided states cannot ban a candidate, just because they oppose a Democrat.

So, African Americans will be able to vote for Donald J Trump, if they want to?

Perhaps not – the Democrats are trying to throw their leading opposition candidate in jail.

So, what will it take for an African American voter to vote for a Republican candidate if they want to?

Will it take another Civil War?
