Will the Legislature Finally Consider Ending Gov. Newsom’s One Man Rule?
Sen. Melissa Melendez’s SCR 5 may just get a hearing… 14 months later

Sen. Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) authored a resolution to end Gov. Gavin Newsom’s nearly two-year-old COVID State of Emergency.
But her resolution has never been granted a hearing despite requesting one at nearly every session of the Senate since it was introduced. Here is what SCR 5 says:
SCR 5, as amended, Melendez. State of emergency: COVID-19: termination.
Thursday, perhaps in anticipation of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s scheduled press conference later in the day “to Unveil the Next Phase of California’s Nation-Leading Pandemic Response,” Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) released the following statement on a Senate hearing being set to debate the merits of a resolution to end California’s state of emergency:
“This week, SCR 5 by Senator Melendez was set for the first Senate Governmental Organization Committee hearing of the year on March 15. The Committee will debate the merits of the resolution and the implications it will have on California’s ability to respond to the COVID emergency. I understand we are all tired of living life in an emergency, but ending the emergency must be done responsibly to ensure there are no unintended consequences so we can continue to meet the need of our state’s residents in an unpredictable future.
“In addition to the Pandemic State of Emergency, California has dozens of open state of emergencies related to drought, wildfires, and other natural disasters where recovery and clean up continue. A majority of these emergency declarations have been active for years and remain in place to ensure that communities can recover and needed federal funding is provided to assist in the clean-up and relief efforts. Under the current pandemic emergency declaration, there are a number of active executive orders that allow the state to quickly purchase and distribute COVID test kits to schools, administer vaccines, provide test results, and keep our workplace protocols in line with public health orders. Additional information on the hearing will be made available through the committee.”
If the governor announces an end to the state of emergency, SCR 5 is a moot point.
The next right move may be if lawmakers consider limiting the emergency powers of a governor in the future following this two-year fiasco.

I think the only way to rid California of Newsom and his criminal team is arrest. Why not do a story on the California GOP being caught on tape supporting DEMORATS? Do not donate to the GOP…Is anyone doing anything on Newsom rigging the election, The recall? Or rigging the 2022 election? How in the world are we going to stop the mail in voting?

I think there may be a lot more to that story than meets the eye. Anything like that deal requires a lot of prior planning.

I think he definitely needs to give up those emergency powers soon. If he does not, he certainly risks being defeated in November. But I still think he’ll win. As I’ve said previously, most CA voters always vote democratic, no matter how bad things get.
David, so how do you explain the SF School Board recall results if “most CA voters always vote democratic, no matter how bad things get.” Those democrat board members were ousted by a 3 to 1 margin? And “hate” is a loaded word. I personally don’t hate anyone – even Newsom. I just think he’s a lousy leader and probably a crook.
Raymond, the SF school board recall was a local recall vote in the city of San Francisco.
The gubernatorial election is statewide. CA is a deep blue state. Most of the state’s voters stick with democrats, no matter how things are. The republican party has a damaged reputation throughout CA. That is why no “R” has held statewide office since 2006. I do think Newsom will win re-election, not that he deserves it.
I don’t think Governor Newsom will be unseated, but the Democrat supermajority should terminate. A number of Democrats in moderate purple districts will be unseated in the November 2022 midterms. These elected officials will be collateral damage to the economy and California’s draconian handling of the pandemic.
I believe people are growing very tired of Newsom.

Even California voters are seemingly disapproving of the Democratic party agenda. Biden and Harris are both underwater.

Is it just my imagination, or is London Breed starting to sound more like Kevin Kiley? (https://blog.electkevinkiley.com/). We will see just how many “D” candidates are able to defend their progressive agendas in the next election cycle:

“San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well,” the mayor continued. “I want to recognize all the parents who tirelessly organized and advocated in the last year. Elections can be difficult, but these parents were fighting for what matters most – their children.”
Newsom and CDPH are beholden to globalist interests, which includes big pharma. Children are being kept in masks in CA in order to maintain justification for the covid vaccine mandate for school children they want to force state wide in the fall. This eliminates liability for the manufacturers and also allows a vaccine passport system to be introduced. You cannot have a passport system unless the kids have to show papers too. Resist with all you’ve got. There’s no getting freedom back so fight for it now.
Hats off to the Chinese parents and community who worked hard on the successful school board recall.

In December of 2020, all we had up there was ‘yes men and lackeys’.
California’s “jungle primary” needs to be rescinded or revoked or whatever it takes. Having the top two “vote-getters” will always only get us two Democrats to choose from.
