Ric Grenell Aims to Revamp California Politics and ‘Fix California’
California can be first state to say ‘progressive policies didn’t work’

After a year of COVID lockdowns and Zoom school, Ric Grenell says millions of Californians are tired of being controlled, tired of the political lockdowns and restrictions, and really tired of having their kids forced to sit in front of computer screens for 6-8 hours a day instead of attending school in person.
The California Globe talked Monday with former Ambassador to Germany, former Director of National Intelligence, Richard “Ric” Grenell, who lives in California and has proposed a long term plan to “Fix California.” A real plan to revamp state politics. It’s not a window-dressing fix, or a blow-up-the-boxes fix. “Fix California is committed to pursuing longterm solutions that advance conservative ideas and causes throughout the state,” Grenell says.
Grenell is also talked about as a potential candidate for California Governor since the recall election against current Gov. Gavin Newsom qualified for the ballot. While the recall might oust Newsom from office, it will take a massive effort to realign California’s politics, which is Grenell’s focus.
“I’m telling our donors when I meet with them that this is not a sexy, quick fix like one hyped-up statewide race,” Grenell said recently. “This is a four-year campaign to fix California and to do the long-term reforms that we know we need.”
“The left’s stranglehold on our state has decimated industries, families, and our way of life. In order to restore the promise of the Golden State, we must do the hard work now,” Grenell said.
Noting that California has historically been a pioneer in so many areas, Grenell says, “we can be the first state in the country to say ‘progressive policies didn’t work.'”
As for fixing what ails California, Grenell said he watched closely as Stacey Abrams came up with a 4-year plan to “fix” Georgia. “We thought at the time, ‘oh c’mon man,'” Grenell said. “But, we must understand her vision of 4-years… and now we have two Democratic Senators from Georgia!” he said. “I want to do to California what she did to Georgia.”
Grenell’s Fix California starts with a three-part plan: Secure elections, Advocate for California, Engage With Voters.
Fix #1: Grenell said California has to have massive voter reform. “We are suing every county to clean up the voter rolls,” he said. “Fix California is committed to holding state and county election officials accountable and establishing a better process that protects every vote. We need to dig deep on voter integrity, as well,” he added. “Voter ID – if you’re against it, you’re a cheater,” Grenell said. “We need to say, ‘Don’t Cheat.'”
Fix #2: “We are going through top counties and working our way down for voter outreach, to people not currently engaged, not currently registered,” Grenell said. There are currently 22 million registered voters in California according to the California Secretary of State.
Fix California reports that many hardworking Californians are not registering to vote. “We are committed to registering and engaging a new, diverse coalition of pro-freedom Californians around issues and causes that will improve the lives of every resident.”
Fix #3: “Fix California is researching ways to expand school choice asking, ‘Do you want the money spent on your child in public education to follow your child to whatever school you choose?'” Grenell said. He explained that this would erase the divide between “government schools” and other schools – private, religious and charter schools. “It would force all of our schools into capitalism through choice and competition,” Grenell said. “Capitalism has improved the lives of millions of people around the world. We have to utilize it in education.”
California public schools aren’t fully reopening, with high schoolers attending in-person school two days a week for only 3.5 hours, and most schools still using a hybrid blend of in-person and online class time. The California Teachers Association union has been fighting to keep schools closed, and students online in Zoom school.
Grenell said that Gov. Gavin Newsom completely missed a very important issue with families trying to Zoom school their kids from home during the last 15 months. “If a family has three kids, they probably don’t have three computers,” Grenell said. “Parents have to balance which kid gets the computer during class time.”
“This is from a politician who never missed a paycheck,” Grenell said. “And his kids have been in in-person learning since last year.”
“Newsom never missed a paycheck, nor did the media, bloviating about how you should stay home,” Grenell added. “They were making decisions without feeling the pain.”
Grenell said a lot of Californians are frustrated, and it is bipartisan frustration. Democrats’ and Republicans’ kids are doing Zoom school from home. Democrats and Republicans lost their jobs. Democrats’ and Republicans’ businesses were forced to close because they were deemed “non-essential.” Grenell added that “Fix California” will also be seeking out frustrated decline-to-state “No Party Preference” voters, which make up 24% of all California registered voters, and disaffected Democrat voters.
Grenell is concerned that the California electorate may get duped into thinking that necessary changes will be immediate with the recall election, which is why he’s looking at long term solutions and the long game.
“Right now in California, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is limited to the ultra wealthy, the ultra powerful… or those who can afford to move to another state. I am not moving, I am fighting back,” Grenell says.

Please run!
California needs Ric Grenell to step in and Fix California! And he can do it!
I hope he runs because we have Moe, Curly and Bruce
He would be the only viable candidate worth anything, but then I am afraid of more “splitting” of the vote which will only help newscum
Orwellianism, if he is serious about following Stacey Abrams’ plan, and I believe he is serious….then he HAS to be running. Abrams ran. Splitting the vote will not be a problem, imo. I believe Ric can get more votes from Democrats than the other Republican candidates. Also, he will get support from Mr. Trump. We shall see. 🙂
P.S. The timing of reported plans for Mr. Trump to begin doing rallies again is more evidence that Ric is planning a run.
It won’t matter if you split the vote. There will be two items on the ballot. (1)Do you want to recall Newsom? (2)Who do you want to be Governor? Majority vote wins
It matters if he splits the conservative vote. He will not get the votes of conservatives who are Christians. He will increase the likelihood of a liberal Republican or a Democrat winning the recall election.
Your logic is lacking.
Hope hope hope hope HOPE Ric Grenell will enter the race.
HE WILL HOW COULD HE RESIST IT?? THINK POSITIVE KeeP THe FAITH & KeeP THe PRAYERS Flowing to Our Lord & Saviour Amen
If you support Grenell you don’t follow God’s standards and are not a Christian. Grenell is in rebellion to God and God’s standards. He is an open homosexual.,
What a fight is going to be! To all of those that enjoy mud wrestling, let the games begin!
What a great day it would be if we could pick the highest fruit from the Marxist tree.
I might even devote some of my precious time to this effort!
Tomorrow, the hardcore Democrats won’t be the only opponents that Ric will face. Don’t forget the Lincoln Project Republicans – like Liz Cheney, John Kasich, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney et. al.. The project has affiliates in every state ready to back their own candidate.
NOPE. What is missing from Grenells plans are the deportation of 20 million illegals. Fixing the homeless problem, mental illness, California infrastructure, rolling back regulations, rolling back taxes, I could go on and on. As far as schools it’s over take your kid out, how much proof do you need? Do you really want your child to sit in a classroom with a teacher that doesn’t want to be there? I want to be proud of this state once again not ashamed.. John Cox is the legal governor of California we need to elect him again…Wake UP Californians….
WE ARE AWAKE AND RIC GRENELL WILL COVER YOUR LIST ABOVE ALL OF IT AFTER A:: HE HAS TRUMP IN HIS CORNER & THERE IS NO ONE BETTER AT THIS JOB THAN THE DONALD…
He will have a bigger stage for his ideas and our cause if he is in the race. And, those ideas play well as a form of criticism of Newsom.
What say you Mr. Grenell?
Please run and not only plan to fix California but save California!
By far you would be the strongest candidate!
No bears, no gold medals, no rino’s just a belief that California can be golden again!
Run, Ric, Run!
I love what he is doing and would love for him to run, but either way he is here to help and I applaud him for that.
SAVE CALIFORNIA.
RIC GRENELL FOR GOVERNOR.
The essence of a con is to offer hope. This was taught to me by the too numerous West Los Angeles grifters I’ve occasionally had the misfortune to encounter. (It reaches the point where you can spot them, physically sense them as soon as the enter the room, L.A. Land-O’-Scam detector and all that.)
I’m sensing that here. This guy’s stock in trade? Hope wrapped in platitudes and verbosity – “Reform!” “Engagement!” “Frustration!” “Solutions!! ” OMG, this man’s my Saviour!!!
Can anybody remember Schwarzenegger? He said more or less the same thing? And how did that work out?
Not a word about public mal-investment, crumbling, un-maintained and uncompleted but necessary infrastructure, out of control and leftist public unions, Illegals, Gimme Dats, disaffected minorities, bankrupting entitlements, crime, gangs, strangling regulations and stalling lawsuits, cultural Marxism, identity politics, Woke-ism, non-assimilation, short-term thinking and on and on.
California more and more resembles every day something out of Tainter’s The Collapse of Complex Societies. It’s complete with a small group of haves and a gigantic group of have-nots with their hands out, the productive classes having fled elsewhere. (Taking their various pathologies with them.) Detroit, Ankor-Wat, or Chichen Itza writ very large. All you need is a good Black Swan event – earthquake maybe? – to kick it over the edge.
And that’s a shame, because it could be fixed. (Though not necessarily with any sort of democratic process.) But – and call me cynical and jaded – I sort of doubt this Grenell person is the one to do it. I suspect he’s just another in a long line supposed take-charge reformers who can’t or won’t.
Power attracts precisely the people who ought not to have it. Maybe it might be better to give the Governorship to somebody who doesn’t want it instead of some self-proclaimed messiah. Then maybe things might actually get done.
Just a thought.
VicB3
“Power attracts precisely the people who ought not to have it. Maybe it might be better to give the Governorship to somebody who doesn’t want it instead of some self-proclaimed messiah. Then maybe things might actually get done.”
VicB3, So who do YOU suggest as the “sombody”?
Damned if I know.
Victor Davis Hanson maybe? (No relation.)
Very well educated. Knows his history. Knows his classics. Tells you the truth as he sees it vs what you might want to hear. (Disagree with him on some things.) In the trenches inasmuch a he owns a Central Valley orchard – and not as some gentleman farmer – so suffers first hand the effects of Coastal Elite wishful thinking and policies. Not some relatively newly arrived carpetbagger; family has been in California for the last century and a half or so. Wouldn’t give a damn about the optics. Would probably have an administration that’s actually competent vs “diverse.” Firm grasp of the States true needs and priorities. And so on and so forth.
Plus he probably wouldn’t want the job.
How about him?
Just a thought.
VicB3
I agree he’s a good man, VicB3. Straight talker. But here’s the problem with your choice. Let’s say you donate $4000 or work to collect 7000 signatures and place Victor on the ballot, and let’s say that he WINS. If HE doesn’t WANT the JOB, you have just wasted your time and money, no? Ross Perot really didn’t want the job; I worked at his company and on his campaign. But he said he was WILLING to serve IF his supporters put his name on the ballot in 50 states; which they did and he kept his promise to become a candidate. The person HAS to be WILLING – they HAVE to WANT it to some degree, imo. Good thoughts, though, I see where you’re coming from. Many people have adopted California as home, including me…..a carpetbagger?
P.S. Speaking of carpetbaggers, wouldn’t that label also apply to Ronald Reagan and John Wayne. Both were not native Californians as I recall.
Ric has my vote.
Grenell will not get the conservative Christian vote because he is an open homosexual. He will split the conservative vote and increase the likelihood of a liberal Republican or a another Democrat replacing Newsom.
Instead of doing what is best for California population and business, we try our liberal dreams. These are dreams by people who (unlike Trump) never personally accomplished anything but think they know better than anybody what to do. For example solar power as now produced is useless: It cannot be stored for when you really need it. When the electricity goes out, people who have solar panel do not have their own electricity. The cost to produce solar electricity is 2 or 3 X higher that normal and we do not know how long the panel will survive, The steam turbine will survive 30 -35 years. Can we beat China’s production using solar power?
