“The Best Defense is a Good Offense” is typically associated with military combat and sports. And in politics it’s called the “Marion Barry Defense.”
“Bitch set me up.” Mayor Marion Barry

Former Washington D.C. Mayor Marion Barry when caught by the FBI in a hotel room with crack and a prostitute in 1990, blamed the prostitute for setting him up.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came out swinging Wednesday, claiming she was setup and is owed an apology following the damning Fox News report and video of her with wet hair, about to get a blow-out in a San Francisco hair salon. The salon has been closed since March under coronavirus orders by Gov. Gavin Newsom and San Francisco officials.
California Globe detailed:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California was caught on security cameras visiting the San Francisco hair salon Monday afternoon for a wash and blow-out, despite Gov. Gavin Newsom’s business lockdown orders, and local ordinances keeping hair and nail salons closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” San Francisco Salon owner Erica Kious told Fox News, adding that she “can’t believe” the speaker didn’t have a mask on.
Salons in San Francisco had been closed since March and were only notified they could reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor hairstyling services only.
Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hammill “maintained that the speaker was following the rules.”
“The speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements,” he said.
Except when she doesn’t wear a mask at an illegal hair styling appointment.

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times and that when they said, what, we’re able to accommodate people one person at a time, and that we can set up that time, I trusted that,” Pelosi said during a press conference.
“As it turns out, it was a setup,” Pelosi said. “So I take responsibility for falling for a setup.” Pelosi said she is owed an apology by the salon owner for the setup.
Pelosi and her spokesman claimed the salon invited Pelosi to come in on Monday. But the owner disputes this.

As California attorney Harmeet Dhillon Tweeted Tuesday, “This is bullshit. Every single woman in California knows EXACTLY where you can and cannot get your hair done. You think we are looking like this by choice?”

California Globe interviewed several salon owners who have been suffering financially with closed businesses. One owner said if one of her clients contracted COVID from her while she was “illegally working,” she was told she would have been fined $10,000.
Politico reporter Carla Marinucci appeared indignant that Fox News committed some journalism, and immediately defended Pelosi by questioning the legality of the video of Pelosi: “Have to ask upon seeing this: Is it legal in CA — a ‘two party consent’ state — to videotape someone in a private home or business without their consent?” she Tweeted.

And now the trolls are attacking salon owner Erica Kious.
“The owner of eSalon, Erica Kious who’s a single mother of two, is now being forced to shut down & relocate her business & family due to outrage & threats she is receiving after speaking out about Nancy Pelosi’s visit to her salon,” Courtney Holland of Human Events Tweeted.
