Sacramento’s Own Radical Congressional Candidate has Upcoming Event Hasan Piker

Mai Vang is a Sacramento City Councilwoman, and a California congressional candidate for California’s 7th Congressional District. Mai Vang also refuses to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and turns her back on the U.S. flag during public meetings.

The Sacramento City Councilwoman has openly boasted about the practice of turning her back on the flag at ceremonies, drawing sharp criticism as she campaigns for higher office.

Mai Vang also openly loathes Sacramento’s Police Department and frequently states that she wants to cut more funds from law enforcement. Sacramento has one of the lowest police officer to resident ratio of about 1.3 per 1000 residents. FBI data reports a nationwide average of 2.4 sworn officers per 1,000 inhabitants. And, Vang would like to cut more officers.

Congressional candidate Mai Vang has most recently been outed and excoriated by City Council colleague Lisa Kaplan over Vang’s upcoming campaign fundraising stream with radical anti-semite, socialist/communist and potty-mouth streamer Hasan Piker.

In a Facebook post, Councilwoman Lisa Kaplan said:

As an elected leader and an advocate for the safety and dignity of all women, I stand in absolute defiance of the toxic, misogynistic rhetoric propagated by online personalities like Hasan Piker. The time for silence is over. We must unapologetically denounce the dangerous misogynistic garbage championed by Piker.”

I appreciate Kaplan’s opposition to the political event with Piker, but misogynistic is probably the last word I’d use for Hasan Piker. Start with Anti-Semite. “Councilmember Vang should not be aligning herself or her campaign with someone who uses his platform to perpetuate sexism and degrade women,” Kaplan says.

Piker has repeatedly claimed that Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack was resistance or understandable blowback against Israel, rather than as terrorism against Israeli civilians. On his own streaming show, he has described the attack in terms of “decolonization,” arguing that Israeli policies created the conditions for it, and has criticized accusations of Hamas atrocities, while solely focusing on Gaza casualties.

Piker has defended armed Palestinian terror factions.

ADL, the Anti-Defamation League, describes Hasan Piker as:

Piker is a prominent Twitch streamer and political commentator who has a history of rhetoric that sanitizes violence and denigrates Jewish people. As of April 2026, Piker has a combined total of around 11.3 million followers across social media platforms. He has expressed support for designated terrorist organizations and antisemitic ideas on many occasions.

Piker has a history of rhetoric that sanitizes and justifies violence and terrorism against the State of Israel and of using derogatory rhetoric towards Jews. This includes claiming that Orthodox Jews are “inbred,” which he subsequently apologized for in response to backlash. He calls for the eradication of Zionism and demonizes Zionism as a “mental illness.”

While much public attention has been paid to Piker’s commentary about 9/11, Piker has expressed explicit support for U.S-designated terrorist organizations such as Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on numerous occasions. He has also falsely claimed that the well-documented sexual violence committed by Hamas and other terrorists on October 7, 2023 did not take place.

ADL reports that on multiple occasions, Piker has also used the terms “inbred” and “psychopath” to refer to Israeli and Orthodox Jews during his livestreams. He has since expressed regret for his use of the word “inbred.”

• Piker stated that Israel’s actions in Gaza “will inevitably turn Israel into a nation entirely comprised of Messianic inbred ultra-Orthodox psychopaths with a new nuclear arsenal.” (Twitch stream, September 2024)
• Piker asserted, “it is literally the Jewish KKK brigades out there [in the West Bank]. Just a bunch of fucking inbred hicks literally doing pogroms to the Arab population.” (Twitch stream, May 2024) 
• “In the beginning, like in a couple months in after October 7, every week there was another fucking psychopathic settler, inbred fucking douchebag, wearing fucking military fatigues shooting another Israeli dude…getting fucking executed by some inbred 15-year-old fucking douchebag in military fatigues.” (Twitch stream, March 2024)

So, there is no question that Hasan Piker’s offenses involve his Jew hatred and vile anti-semitism far more than his misogyny. And this is just the tip of the iceberg with Piker..

For Councilwoman and Congressional Candidate Mai Vang to tack even further to the radical communist left with an event planned with Hasan Piker should be a wake-up call for every voter in Sacramento’s Congressional District 7.

Current and longtime Congresswoman Doris Matsui has served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from California’s 7th congressional district since 2005. She succeeded her husband, Bob Matsui after his untimely death. Matsui is a Democrat, and she’s been a loyal Democrat.

Mai Vang makes Doris Matsui look like the second coming of Ronald Reagan.  A vote for Doris Matsui should be an easy decision this election.

Besides consorting with Hasan Piker, Mai Vang’s campaign calls for taxing billionaires, good jobs, and the right to organize.

In Right-To-Work states, good jobs are abundant because of the right to work, not the right to organize.

Vang is hawking for nationalized health care, abortion on demand, massively increasing federal funding for new home construction, a Federal Renters Bill of Rights, universal childcare, free college, and cancel student debt.

Still need more convincing?

As the Globe reported, Mai Vang is also besties with Sheng Thao – yes, that Sheng Thao – the recalled Oakland Mayor indicted by a grand jury on federal bribery charges – and describes them as “Sisters.” #HmongSistersRising to be specific.

All of this may seem trivial to some. But think about members of Congress recently, who have been accused of consorting with members of China’s CCP, potentially selling U.S. intel. Congressional members who claimed no knowledge of staff who were Chinese spies. Do you really trust that Mai Vang will uphold her oath of office in Congress as she turns her back on the flag, while boasting about it?
