Californians Live in Fear of Government

It’s not just us – most Blue State citizens are subjected to government terrorism

By Katy Grimes, August 23, 2023 2:55 am

Across the state, Californians are witnessing the total breakdown of society – primarily, and noticeably confined to larger cities. Scenes of drug addled homeless vagrants living in tents along city sidewalks play out daily. Public sex acts and open drug deals have become ho hum – “avert your eyes, kids.” Smash and grab thefts are becoming routine news reports. Daily news reports of “sex trafficking” fail to elicit anger – “that’s just awful,” people say. And then they scroll to the next article.

The one area of concern many people quietly acknowledge in whispered tones is the new-normal of living in fear of the government.

From the White House to the State House, and to City Hall, people in California and other blue states are fearful because of politicians and leftists who won’t let them defend themselves, their children, their homes, businesses, churches and schools.

Californians are afraid of the government – afraid they will get locked up for life for defending their family, home or business. They are afraid of resisting a drug crazed vagrant harassing them in the grocery store parking lot… or chasing them away from their business or storefront… or pushing back if their children are with them when a zombie-like homeless dude yelling at unseen demons crosses their path.

Last week I was on a 4-mile hike around my neighborhood and regional park, sans big dog as he is recovering from a sprain. I’ve altered my route into the neighborhood because I encounter so many crazed, drug-frenzied, violent homeless people, and because several have attacked women who run alone in the park. So I am hoofing it on the main boulevard in the neighborhood. A school is to my left, traffic to my right. And coming straight at me is a large, shirtless, homeless male transient carrying a tree branch across his shoulders. He had meth-mouth. He was arguing loudly with unseen demons, flailing his arms and the branch. I have nowhere to go but to turn tail and run if he charges me – the traffic is too steady to run into the street and the school’s tall fence prevented me from seeking relief in the nearby field. He gets closer and I veer toward the street hoping as I go around him that he doesn’t attack.

And that is a daily occurrence in Sacramento, CA. I would have preferred to have been armed for my own safety. But in the City of Sacramento, such a confrontation would not end well – for me. Mr. Meth Mouth would have been given a courtesy ride to the nearest shelter for a free meal and some clean clothes.

Californians are afraid for their own health and welfare, but more afraid of the unequal consequences they will undoubtedly suffer if they dare to protect themselves against the homeless meth-heads, crackheads, and heroin addicts, to the roving bands of thieves and opportunistic criminals, as well as the violent offenders encountered daily now that Gov. Gavin Newsom has let tens of thousands out of prison onto the streets.

The people who do not pay taxes, and do not follow societal rules are being allowed to roam free, unfettered by police in far too many cases, while those who do pay taxes and follow the rules are held to account should they encounter violence and defend themselves.

People in my neighborhood won’t even sleep with downstairs windows open for fear of a brazen nighttime break-in.

The broken windows theory is being lived out in California – when police stop policing, crime gets worse. And then criminals get emboldened, as we are witnessing in Los Angeles where thieves are getting fearless and smash and grab crimes and retail theft is only getting bigger.

Politicians and government officials want responsible tax paying citizens to follow the rules, so we take our shoes off and stand in line for TSA, obey traffic rules, and separate our recyclables, but we see government failing to police an entire segment of society for retail theft, sex crimes, drug crimes, vagrancy, illegal public camping, loitering, and yes, assault.

July 27th, “a brave armed citizen ‘calmly’ shot an armed robber multiple times for trying to rob a gas station called Stone Lake Marathon,” Gateway Pundit reported. The customer who shot the robber has a valid concealed-carry permit. “One would think this armed, vigilant citizen would be receiving a medal for his actions. Instead, he faces possible jail time. Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz claims he is waiting for police to finish the investigation making a decision whether or not to file criminal charges against the customer.”

This is just one in several recent robberies where citizens and store owners fought back against cocky criminals, but were threatened by the government, even knowing that the criminals may receive leniency from political DAs, or walk in some cases.

Nearly everyone in America has seen the footage of the two 7-Eleven employees in Stockton beat a man about his butt and legs for unabashedly emptying shelves of cigarettes and stealing other products July 29th, after stealing food items the day before. However, the beating came after he threatened to shoot the people in the store.

Following the beatdown of the thief, the two employees were investigated by Stockton Police for assault. Only after national public outrage did the San Joaquin District Attorney Ron Freitas announce “Any Investigation going forward is to hold accountable the individual who threatened & attempted to rob them,” KCRA reported.

This is why good, decent people are afraid of the government unjustly using laws and the courts against them instead of criminals.

In third world countries, guerillas go where the government can’t control them – the drugged up homeless and criminals in the U.S. are the same. Homeless and criminals go where their behavior is tolerated – where they are in fact, rewarded and allowed to live on the streets.

While far too many politicians appear to have devolved into nothing more than a cash distribution system for favorite nonprofits, NGOs and special interest groups, the people – voters – cast a vote expecting the elected politicians to be responsive to the needs of the community.

This is a fool’s paradise. We see politicians in every level of government responding as a wholly owned subsidiary of their funders and special interest groups. This is blatantly evident when a citizen makes the trek to the State Capitol to testify or just watch committee hearings. Despite hundreds of people testifying their opposition or support for a bill, Democrats will pass it or kill it – for their special interest investors. Often when the public is testifying, lawmakers play with their cell phones or get up and leave the hearing until it is time to cast a vote.

We’ve seen this play out on a horrific level in Washington D.C. California’s own Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff and the dishonorable double-dealing Democrat-dominated House of Representatives “J6Committee,” would have marched in lockstep with Joseph Stalin. The Soviet-style trials in DC, the judges who pretended to run legitimate courtrooms, who criminalize political speech and the First Amendment protected petitioning of the federal government, would have marched in lockstep with Joseph Stalin.

That they have ordered and kept untold numbers of peaceful protestors, who believed that the 2020 Presidential election was stolen, in solitary confinement is a disgrace of the U.S. Judicial system, and on the U.S. Constitution. It is also a stain on Congress that these people are still imprisoned, rather than the corrupt judges and prosecutors who violated the Constitution to put them there. American citizens are rotting in the DC Gulag while members of Congress fly home each weekend to their families.

This is what Californians and blue state citizens fear. It could make for a record turnout in the 2024 Election. If the parents fighting back against corrupted public school boards is any indication, channeling that fear into big election changes, while vowing that this will never again happen is about the only move that could right this country.

  1. What a great article- expressing the frustration of so many…but how and why do people keep voting for those who have ruined our state? Or do they?

Not only does the State threaten those who seek to protect themselves, they also censor criticism, and their minions seek to destroy the careers of who dare to speak out.

    1. Rod, the youth of the country are being “brainwashed” and “indoctrinated” through the education system. Each year more of them become voters. This is where the focus should be to stop the trend.

    2. Do voters keep voting for those who have ruined our state? Ron is right in questioning whether they are actually voted in, or (more likely) they’re installed with voter fraud and rigged voting machines?

  2. Why the “H” you think they ran the private sector businesses out of Cali?? Drive the minions to captivity and dependence on the govt renders total control.

Does anybody remember when Toyota departed Cali (Torrance) FOR Texas: Not a whimper from Jerry Brown: Why? Exactly what the fascists planned. Soon you’ll be lucky to own a golf cart; charging it another issue!

  3. Unfortunately, I see no end to the stranglehold Democrats have in California and most large cities in the US. If the voters of Pennsylvania can elect someone with verifiable brain damage to the US Senate simply because he was the Democrat in the race then voting may not be the solution.

  4. I agree that this piece by Katy Grimes is a true reflection of how most of us are thinking right about now. Acknowledging the truth of the ugly stuff is a good thing, isn’t it, because it helps to unite us.
As was pointed out, tsunami voter turnout is still the answer for us, even in the face of rather obvious rigging and cheating. We MUST always vote in spite of it. After all, record turnout worked in 2016, didn’t it? Picture in your mind’s eye the Dems jaws on the floor when Trump won. Don’t you think they were pulling every possible trick in the book to prevent such an outcome even then?
It IS a dilemma, though. Pointing out the cheat is not meant to discourage voters —- the purpose of it is to warn and arm voters to support the plausible and effective efforts to address and fix much of what is wrong with our elections BEFORE they occur. And, don’t doubt it, those efforts ARE out there.

  5. Who has benefited from Sanctuary Cities? Was it designed to be an open door for drug cartels to establish business? Could their elitist cliental profits (Tech, Hollywood, Finance…) fund those in public office to retain their power over the law abiding taxpaying citizens? Remember the outrage and excuses for government service shortfalls over Prop 13? Yet millions of dollars are afforded to unhoused uncivilized miscreant consumers of toxic concocted chemicals and well-meaning (or mean-welling) enablers. Sanctuary Cities are destroying the sanctity of home, family, work, school, worship and society… at the cost of whose life, liberty and pursuit of happiness?

  6. People are waking up and realizing the strategies being used to control all of us by America’s enemies including the homeless epidemic the smash & grab mobs, they want dismantalzation & destruction, demoralization of the of all of us, they want us to be on line reacting to all the insanity they create they prefer us to be in front of a LED screen and resigning to fear and despair, this is coming to a halt and they need to start running.

never getting off our a** vs participating daily in any way tiny or large to saving our freedoms, speaking out .

“Well I am American. and that is my flag…we are not going to turn this over to the children without a fight… we are not going to give them a mess …and you can sit down and watch it happen, and be basically a loser, or you can stand up and be an American…we’re not jellyfish…there are things that we can do and we are doing those things. ” *

  7. Katy, we all have to stop putting “homeless” before “drug-addict”, because first and foremost THEY ARE DRUG ADDICTS, being on the streets without a home is a side-effect.
Find 10 “homeless” people that are 100% *clean and sober* then I’ll listen

    1. You’re exactly correct! A few years ago a reporter in Seattle spent an entire year interviewing the homeless in that city and he found that without exception, there was substance abuse and/or mental illness. He made a documentary of that as well. In the past, when people were arrested for any infraction, they spent at least 6 months in jail, allowing them time to dry out. After that, some would enter treatment and get off of the drugs. These days, there is rarely any time in jail, so that period of drying out has ceased, exacerbating the problem. Until Props 47 & 57 are repealed and the laws are enforced, no matter how many millions of dollars are thrown at the problem, it will only grow. Responsible citizens will have no choice but to leave the state.

  8. The people of California voted for this. After 64 years they chased meow of my birth place. There is no saving this state. All the politicians are at fault. You have one party rule because the republicans were more interested in keep their seat than fighting the democrats. They carved out “safe districts, they went along with the “open primary format for elections, and on and on.
Leave while you can. They have been trying to pass a “Exit Tax” to rob you when you try to escape the tyranny that has taken over. It’s only a matter of time.

    1. I don’t believe that we DID vote for this…
Based upon the PDF on the CA SOS website regarding the security testing performed on the “D” electronic voting system where they described NUMEROUS security weaknesses, and then explained them away one-by-one with mitigation after mitigation scenario…
And corrupt Alex Padilla signed off on this security cesspool, bought these “D” electronic voting systems STATEWIDE, and then skated off to backfill “Heels-Up Harris” in the Senate….
Then, a JoeHoft.com article on August 14 about a nationwide “FirstNet” cellular network that enables the security weaknesses that are listed in that PDF to be EXPLOITED by corrupt bad actors…
Until more people get on-board with the voting fraud that is being investigated by Judicial Watch and Mike Lindell and others, the entire NATION is screwed-over and there is no safe place to run to – California is just the proverbial “tip of the spear” of this corruption and the test-kitchen for these nefarious actions….

    2. Absolutely however your articulation on a national basis occuring.
America already a failed nation pursuant to the irreconcilable debt thus next will be nuclear war concurrent with the collapse of the dollar. Those of us who survive will lament what we should and could have done all the while we were distracted by the Republican Democrat side show.
Here and now the immediate resurrection of a sovereign currency and preservation of the second amendment all that remains in the arsenal to save America.

  9. The author calls our nation’s malaise a total breakdown of society. I suggest it’s the eternal cycle between freedom and control. We are definitely in the Control stage now.

The agents for control are those who direct government activity, (politicians) including those who work within the government (bureaucrats.) Federal, State and regional government are the incubator for control. Where else can a tyrant have access to vast sums of money they did not make, and influence laws and regulations to punish free enterprise, and anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their way of thinking?

Tyrants through all time have understood this and have manipulated governments and monarchies to gain control over the populous and their property.

Power and wealth are not intrinsically evil. The love for power and wealth is driven by evil. The framers of our nation understood this and codified the Rule of Law in the Constitution to control the government that would control the people.

If we want to repair “society,” then demand that politicians, judges, and bureausrats adhere to the Constitution. Only by replacing judges and politicians, who can then replace bureaucracies, with pro-Constitution patriots, can we return our lives to freedom.

This argument applies to all politicians, regardless of affiliation. Republicans are almost as bad as Democrats when it comes to centralizing control within government. This has to stop and reverse. Once again, adhere to the Constitution, and to the Principle of the Sanctity of the Individual. –

    1. Sadly the Constitution and the soul of America eviscerated to the tune of $33Trillion debt which can’t be repayed nor atoned for: We have flooded the world’s currency markets with toxic deficit currency. Those we borrowed from will demand repayment.
All this by design and now the destructors will come to us for repayment of the debt and all we’ll have is worthless dollars.
The proliferation of deficit currency distributed by compromised politicians ushered in total chaos this relegating America to a failed/ bankrupt status. There is absolutely no return to normalcy; mathematically impossible.

  10. The Sikh store clerks’ use of force seems excessive, absent evidence a gun was presented. If they had been properly armed, they would have had a contactless solution to respond to such a threat, without any need to cause injury by beating. Otherwise, great article.

    1. So you would just allow this guy to rob you over and over and do nothing? The criminal is fortunate that the clerks weren’t packing and shoot to kill! Anyone willing to allow criminals to perpetrate their crimes without interference is asking for it to continue in perpetuity. That’s very foolish!

  11. > It could make for a record turnout in the 2024 Election

SO WHAT??? If the vote counting machines are not replaced, then we are faced with their same STEAL THE ELECTION plans, just cranked up a little higher to make up for the extra turnout. THEY STILL WIN!!!

PAPER BALLOTS WITH SERIAL NUMBERS would fix the problem immediately, which is why the demoncrats will never allow it.

  12. Everyone complains about “the state”, totally overlooking the state is nothing more than the collective voice of elected representatives that they chose and keep choosing.

They love the self-inflicted helplessness complaining about “the state”. SEIU and the teachers union are the real “state” of California. Stop voting for their backed candidates. End of the “state”.

  13. The long term goal of the left is to get citizens to trade freedom for safety. That’s how authoritarian societies are built. People need to wake up.
