Gov. Sununu Says Gavin Newsom is ‘Just a Prick’ – among a Few Governors That ‘Really Nobody Liked’
This isn’t exactly a secret in California…
By Katy Grimes, May 27, 2024 2:55 am
New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu said last week that there are two governors who have served during his own eight-year term who “really nobody liked” – former New York governor Andrew Cuomo and California governor Gavin Newsom, National Review reported. Their title, says it all:
‘Just a Prick’: Sununu Says Newsom among Few Governors That ‘Really Nobody Liked’
And a day before the NR article, this was on Twitter:
Yes, I reposted this.
But we already knew this about Gavin Newsom. In November, the Globe reported “Gov. Gavin Newsom Approval Ratings Have Sunk to an All-Time Low; ‘Hated by Younger People.’”
The NR article explains the circumstances for Sununu’s comments were:
“during an appearance at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute’s Reagan Institute Summit on Education (RISE) when he was asked about the difference in dynamics between how governors and congressional lawmakers work.
“I think — look — almost all of the governors get along,” Sununu said. “There’s really only been two, maybe a third, but two real governors that really nobody liked.”
Asked to name names, the New Hampshire governor replied: “Andrew Cuomo. Complete jacka**, no one likes him. And I got to — and I got to be honest, I — no one cares for Gavin. Gavin’s just a prick.”
He went on to claim that even Newsom’s fellow Democrats dislike the California governor, but “they won’t tell you out loud.”
“Behind closed doors, they’re like, ‘Oh, God, look who’s coming.’ You know, they all roll their eyes,” he said.
For the record, I hear and report much the same in California’s Capitol. It seems to be the only bipartisan issue lawmakers from both parties agree on – and Newsom’s reputation was burnished during his Executive Ordered 3-year statewide Covid lockdowns, school closures, business lockdowns, beach and park lockdowns – while he took international vacations, dined at the “acclaimed” French Laundry restaurant in Yountville, Napa Valley, and spent time in free Montana.
If you are still unsure, be sure to read “Top 50 Disasters Gov. Gavin Newsom Has Ushered into California,” a comprehensive list of his epic policy failures, and general bad behavior.
Only a few months ago, ahead of a visit from Chinese President Xi Jinping, the governor made sure that Los Angeles’s and San Francisco’s streets and sidewalks were cleaned of the drug-addicted homeless population and their feces, needles, vomit and urine – but Gov. Newsom was and still is unwilling to do this for the people and business owners who live there, even after dropping $24 billion taxpayer dollars on the problem.
The Daily Mail even reported San Francisco is blasted as a ‘ghost town’ by Chinese media:
San Francisco is slammed as ‘ruined city’ and ‘hell’ in Chinese media ahead of APEC summit – as city officials try to clean up the streets by blasting Star Wars theme to get rid of homeless people and open air drug markets.
Chinese media outlets have been branding the city of San Francisco a ‘total failure’ ahead of a visit from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The Globe asked, “Why not clean streets up first for the taxpaying residents and business owners? A little buy-in from residents would go a long way for a mayor intent on impressing visiting dignitaries.”
And to think that Newsom fancies himself worthy of the Oval Office… but only if it is surrounded by guys like this so he never forgets:
and this…
and this…
Remember his bizarre trip to China – the trip where Newsom ignored discussing serious issues with China, including technology espionage, the fentanyl crisis, and human rights abuses. The Globe reported in November:
Gavin Newsom’s trip to China (via Israel) exposes what an unserious but ambitious politician he really is – governing a big state just isn’t fun, after all. Working to be a statesman isn’t as rewarding as being a high-level office holder for Gavin. The timing of his trip was obviously designed to meet with China General Secretary Xi Jinping ahead of President Joe Biden’s scheduled meeting in San Francisco at the APEC Summit next month.
For Newsom, who doth protests he isn’t running for President in 2024, is sure making a lot of moves which serve to elevate his profile, but have no benefit at all for his home state of California.
Blech.

Newsom is at his most distasteful when he cites reams of disingenuous and misleading statistics that in his mind, refute his critics (California shows the world how to handle the homeless!) . His remarks about the inept Biden running a “master class” on government are way beyond gaslighting.
Gavin Newsom = empty suit.
Period.Full. Stop.
As many have pointed out, Gavin Newsom suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. However, calling his affliction a disorder does not scratch the surface. His narcissism appears to be unabated mental illness. Here is a website with several scientific articles addressing narcissism: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0092656606000778
Is is just me, or does Gov. Newsom look more and more like Patrick Bateman (as played by Christian Bale)?
Just sayin’.
No kidding, Katy Grimes, “This isn’t exactly a secret in California.” Ha ha!
Gov Chris Sununu’s hilarious “remarks” about Gov Pain-in-the-Ass were sooooo refreshing. Just what the doctor ordered. Most especially the eye-rolling that happens when other politicians see Puff-Gov coming, which when you think about it is really saying something.
Always appreciate Fed Up’s reliable observation that the Gov’s Narcissistic Personality Disorder —- which cannot be treated; the megalomania of the patient prevents it —- doesn’t begin to cover what this guy has dished out over all of these years and thus what Californians have had to endure. The landscape is littered with the broken lives of people who have had one (or more) of these NPD jokers reveal themselves in their roles as parents, spouses, bosses, etc. Even though difficult, you can eventually move out and make your own way, divorce your spouse, or quit your job, but it’s almost too much to have such a twisted person become GOVERNOR of the state you were born in, and have lived all your life in, gleefully vandalize and destroy everything in it. And yet, there is no way a prick like Newsom is going to run me out of my home. Jerk. A-hole.
Love it Show!
Pricks come and go! May this one fall off the political map.
Stay put people, we have a state to win back.
California is the battered wife and Newsom is the guy in the white (wi** b**ter) tee shirt.
Yup, CG. Don’t want to jinx it but it may be we are starting to turn the corner.
Knock wood.
Showandtell, there is one cure for “Gov’s Narcissistic Personality Disorder” and that is to put him and others that show symptoms of having the same disorder out of office once and for good. The overwhelming majority of the current California elected class all suffer from this disorder and the side effects have been gut wrenching for the citizens of this state. We have until September to qualify the recall on “the Newsom”. This would be the first step in healing this state.
Not sure the recall attempt is a “go” anymore, Hal. Even Anne Dunsmore didn’t mention it in her last email blast and she’s the one who tried to kick it off, to widespread skepticism from many since then, by the way. But we’ll see.
Newsom is the worst governor in California history. He has destroyed this state and the people in it. He’s a tyrant. Yet the voters of California reelected him. This makes no logical sense. How bad to you have to be as a leader when you are a Democrat to not get reelected?
Wake up!
“How bad to you have to be as a leader when you are a Democrat to not get reelected?”
Protect Freedom, it seems that the answer to this question is……”As bad as you want to be short of being a convicted felon.” This is why the Democrats are trying to get Trump convicted of a felony….they believe this will affect his elect-ability among voters. Have you seen Biden’s campaign ad? Nothing about issues and everything about Trump. If the kangaroo court jury in New York finds Trump guilty, Biden will be able to say, “I refuse to debate a felon.” The whole system has been corrupted – California is just the shining example with Newscum.
“voters of California” = ELECTRONIC VOTING PLATFORMS of California (which have serious security exploits available to them as described in detail in a PDF on the CA SOS website, but are also explained away with platitudes about training and separation of duties….)
Heh heh heh…. Newsom and his Weinstein-trollop wife are probably both having collective meltdowns at seeing the picture above captioned as “Gov. Gavin Newsom, Mrs. Newsom and a Newsom child …” instead of her preferred “First Partner” moniker….
GOOD….
“Remember his bizarre trip to China – … ”
That was a photo-op for his upcoming (p)residential nomination feature-roll, to demonstrate his international relations PR skills…
Either that, or it was to pick up his check from CCP leadership for the BYD electric bus and solar panel deals, or get more marching orders to destroy the CA economy so the CCP can buy up CA on the cheap….
The Gov is for sale to the highest bidder, just like his mentor BuyedIn….
Sununu is right about Newsom, but Sununu is a deep state globalist RINO who attacked Trump, supported Nikki Haley, and called Vivek Ramaswamy a “misogynistic fool.” He’s part of the Democrat/RINO uniparty ?
Thanks for that info, TJ.
Guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile (as they say). 🙂
ATTENTION California Globe!
No need to strike out the “ss” in Jackass. A Jackass is a male Donkey (female is Jennie). Ass comes from the Latin asinus = donkey, NOT your ARSE.
Speaking as an old J Major, we’re the culprits that screw up the language. Ass is an animal, not you butt.
