In what appears as the latest attempt to add some traction to his campaign, Assemblyman Travis Allen (R-Huntington) has some harsh words for Governor-Elect Gavin Newsom.
Allen, the southern California representative who is currently running to become the next chair of the state’s Republican Party has constantly attacked Newsom throughout the Democrat’s entire gubernatorial campaign and furthermore, his career.
Now, in his latest conquest, Allen is urging California residents – Republicans of course, to sign onto a petition which calls for the recall of Gavin Newsom.
Although legally elected in a landslide victory over Republican opponent John cox, the petition is an interesting tactic by Allen in which he is certainly hoping to rally his supporters.
The petition states “Gavin Newsom has already destroyed San Francisco. Rising crime rates, out of control homelessness, rampant public drug use, and the worst traffic in the nation. Don’t let Gavin do the same to California. Sign the petition to Recall Gavin Newsom NOW!”
The move comes after the California Globe noted his first big announcement where he unveiled his California 100,000 program. The program will implement a system “where 100,000 Californians will donate $10 a month to do more Republican voter registration in the state of California and rebuild our party from the ground up.”
Allen has since vacated his Assembly seat, and is hoping to replace the retiring Republican Chair Jim Brulte. His campaign to “take back California” is currently going unchallenged.
