There are more than 100 and less than 11,000

How Many Sections Are in California’s Codes (Statutes)? Have you ever wondered the answer to this question? No?! Perhaps I am the only one who has. The following are the number of actual sections contained in each of the 29 California Codes:

Business and Professions Code – BPC – 10,036 Sections


Civil Code – CIV
– 3,710 Sections

Code of Civil Procedure – CCP – 3,283 Sections

Commercial Code – COM – 646 Sections

Corporations Code – CORP – 2,405 Sections

Education Code – EDC – 11,061 Sections

Elections Code – ELEC – 2,280 Sections

Evidence Code – EVID – 502 Sections

Family Code – FAM – 1,715 Sections

Financial Code – FIN – 3,335 Sections
