UPDATED: LA Times’ Owner ‘Activist’ Daughter Stuns with Pro-Hamas Statements

‘This genocide is on livestream’

UPDATE BELOW, Nov. 3, 2023

Uber-woke, uber-rich, uber-awful Nika Soon-Shiong – daughter of the owner of the Los Angeles Times – has called Israel an “apartheid state” that is now committing “genocide” against Palestinians in its response to Hamas’ barbaric attacks.

“It’s not journalistic malpractice to describe the state of Israel as an Apartheid state. This is well-established in international law. It’s the legal term for unlawful “killing, torture, forcible transfer, and denial of basic rights,” she Tweeted (X) late yesterday.

She continued by claiming that “This genocide is on livestream. The pundits (the Globe wonders if that includes the Times?) have been bought. The actors (and confused comedians) have been given the script. The politicians have been paid for. The ink on the Lockheed Martin and Accenture contracts is drying” after the most recent Israeli efforts to rot out Hamas terrorists.

Further – specifically astonishing for a member of the board of the Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ) –  she added a threat aimed at anyone who does not agree with her warped opinion on the war:

“They will all be remembered for every moment they were silent, every false word that they uttered, and every life those words stole from our earth.”

Beyond her latest missive, her Twitter/X feed is chock full of pro-Hamas content.

Los Angeles – specifically West Hollywood – resdients are familiar with Soon-Shiong’s narcissistic adolescent “activism.”

  • As a member of the WeHo Public Safety Commission, she pushed for – and got – a reduction of the local law enforcement budget by $3.6 million and the adding of “ambassadors.”  She was appointed to the spot by Lindsay Horvath, who was later endorsed by the Times’ for the county supervisor’s seat she eventually won.
  • After her dad bought the Times, she was given an “advisory” role at the paper, where she reportedly consistently crossed ethical lines, pushed for stories on her Commission, and for the paper to take a harder line against law enforcement in general.
  • The Times – surprisingly, at the time – endorsed Democratic Socialists of America member Kenneth Meija for City Controller.  Meija – who Soon-Shiong follows on Twitter (X) – was elected.
  • According to a number of previously published reports, Soon-Shiong pushed the Times’ coverage even further to the left, causing significant internal issues as the staff struggled “to chart out coverage that converged with her interests.”

Separate from her meddling at the Times, Soon-Shiong is a perpetual graduate student – in 2016 she was dubbed a “glam grad” and a rising young force in the world of philanthropy and international foundational giving, shoveling out money her dad made to every elite hot-button topic, like the Soros kids.

She also “worked in the Office of the President at the World Bank Group to support corporate and regional strategies around disruptive technologies’ impact on development pathways.”

Wonder how she got that job…

She has her own non-governmental organization called The Fund for Guaranteed Income.  The group’s website states that “Communities across the nation need support. We send recurring cash transfers directly to families, build technology that supports government and community based programs, and power coalitions to support sustained policy-level change.”

F4GI is operating in Los Angeles, Compton, Chicago, and Philadelphia. It is not – particularly ironic considering her support for Hamas – operating in Gaza City where, presumably, $500 a month could make a much bigger difference than in Chicago.

Soon-Shiong’s work with the CPJ also appears to fit nicely with her world view.  The CPJ is currently perturbed that Israel has “told news agencies that they cannot guarantee safety of journalists working in the Gaza Strip” during the current phase of the offensive.  The CPJ also called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in the conflict.

Currently, Soon-Shiong is a grad student at Oxford, researching “Dynamics of power and representation; politics of Universal Basic Income.”

Also currently, she is one of the reasons the world is so terrible right now.

Soon-Shiong and her over-rich, over-powerful, over-credentialed, over-influential, over-elite, over-coddled, over-stupid fellow narcissistic nepo-babies have been a driving force in the massive socio-economic changes that are occurring that overwhelmingly disproportionately benefit…themselves.

None of the organizations contacted have called/emailed back the groups I reached out to are:

The LA Times, Foundation for Guaranteed Income, Rep. Adam Schiff, Soon-Shiong herself, The Committee to Protect Journalists, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

UPDATE: Nov. 3, 2023

Thursday night, the CPJ responded to a request for comment.  It should be noted that the CPJ is made up of journalists, journalists very well aware of what the word “deadline” means.

This is the question emailed – twice – and followed up with a pair of phone calls stressing the importance of the deadline:

Thomas Buckley, California Globe, here –
ON IMMEDIATE DEADLINE
Would the CPJ care to comment on board member’s soon-shiong’s comments on the hamas-israel conflict, including her stating that Israel is an “apartheid state”?
Does this not show the bias of the board/cpj?

And this is what they sent back:

Dear Mr. Buckley,

Thank you for contacting CPJ. Please note that the CPJ board is the governing body of CPJ. The members of the board focus on high-level strategy, oversight, and accountability of the organization. Board members are not involved in CPJ’s operations. Our documentation of press freedom violations, including killings and jailings of journalists, is carried out by regional and local specialists. As a press freedom organization, we support the exercise of free expression. This means that CPJ board members are free to express their personal opinions. Our board is diverse in terms of experience and opinion and no individual board member is able to influence the decision making of the executive.

So very transparent…

  1. I thought it was #StopAsianHAte, guess it’s really #AsianHate. This useful idiot would be thrown on a NYC subway tracks by the hardcore Left.

  2. According to Wikipedia she was educated at Stanford.
Alma mater Stanford University (MA, BA), University of Oxford (PhD, attending)

She is a great example of what an elite education produces nowadays.
“THE GLAM GRAD” That has to count for something when pretending to be a middle east expert. Right😏

    1. And soon to be promoted by her Daddy to be the Editor-In-Chief of the LA Slimes newspaper….(which is only useful for bird-cage liner)

  3. Those who have been following this lefty brat’s trek and application of thumbscrews to influence not only L.A. Times but local govt entities are definitely not stunned to see her cheering Hamas. She’s an SJW from way back and apparently Daddy thought it would be cute to put her in charge of stuff.
Why are Dems and people on the left, or is that redundant, surprised that unrepentant hard left-wing radicals support terrorists? Mr. Lifelong Hard Lefty “Prof.” Erwin Chemerinsky acted super-surprised recently in an opinion piece that there was suddenly so much anti-Semitism on campus and that it seemed like it was dangerous or something (to paraphrase). You’d think someone who teaches law would be able to follow logic, but no…. I guess it only becomes apparent to him, or he thinks it’s only safe to admit it, when it affects him (as a Jew) directly. Otherwise, blinders. How convenient.

    1. Exactly. It is kind of how the hedge fund managers could care less until They were affected. You see….when the gentile was dying of fentanyl or crime…who cares? Never mind how many are dying by fueling the war in Ukraine. Now that they couldn’t make that one stick with Daily Wire, it is war with Iran VIA Israel. Most of us want some damn law and order without these blood-sucking neocon shows.

  4. I , for one, love being lectured by the child of a Chinese immigrant born in South Africa about world politics.

  5. A billionaire heiress in the Anglosphere dedicated to tearing down nationalism, ethnic identity, family structure, English common law and property rights, public safety, and overloading the social welfare system to implement a digital authoritarian state?

    What a surprise!

As rare a turds in a dog park.

Whenever money collects in pools as big as the one her dad controls, you can rest assured it isn’t by accident that the fruits of that perverse and sinful excess work tirelessly for the imperial system that created the “wealth” in the first place.

  6. I used to be a regular reader and subscriber of the LA Times many years ago. Then it started drifting to the far left. Then it start running sham articles full of lies. Then they closed down their reader comments section on their website. Then I stopped reading it at all. I have even looked at one of their articles in years. It’s not news. It’s propaganda and lies.

Someone said they saw an article in the LA Times that we will need water rationing soon. I told him I don’t believe anything in the LA Times. Afterwards, I looked at the CA Dept. of Water Resources website, and just about every reservoir had levels far above historical averages. That figures.

Now I read the California Globe where I can get real news.
