Cal Chamber Endorsed Candidate Xavier Becerra Prioritizes Illegal Street Vendors over Legal Businesses
‘If you care so much about immigrants, maybe we should discuss your time at HHS, Xavier’

Hey Cal Chamber, how do you feel about your endorsement of Xavier Becerra for Governor now?
“Candidate for California Governor Xavier Becerra is prioritizing illegal immigrants over legal residents’ investment in brick and mortar businesses. Every policy he actually addresses favors people who are here illegally,” the Globe noted on X.

In June, the Cal Chamber announced they were endorsing Xavier Becerra in the November general election for governor. Immediately I pictured the Cal Chamber board of directors cowering under their conference room table.
The California Business & Industrial Alliance (CABIA) even took out a full-page ad in the California Post that slammed the California Chamber of Commerce’s misguided endorsement of Xavier Becerra for Governor, the Globe reported.
The ad highlights that the Cal Chamber endorsed Becerra for Governor alongside Big Labor, including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and United Food & Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW). It’s a slap in the face to California business owners who have been targeted by harmful union-backed policies like the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and a $20 minimum wage for fast-food workers.
The ad points out that even former president Joe Biden didn’t endorse “Embarrassment” Becerra after his incompetent tenure in the Biden administration.
Isn’t the California Chamber of Commerce “the largest broad-based business advocate to government in California, working at the state and federal levels for policies to strengthen California?” Don’t they work hard “to make sure lawmakers and regulators hear about the impact of proposals on business and the state’s economy?”
Becerra may have thought he was being cute when he said “If you’re in California and want a street taco, I have one piece of advice: Look for the little street cart. That’s where you’ll find the real thing.”
Becerra is promoting illegal immigrants and their taco carts, over restaurant owners operated and owned by legal residents who pay taxes, pass health inspections, hire employees, pay for insurance, Workers Comp, pay into the EDD, federal income tax, FICA taxes (Social Security + Medicare), California state income tax, and State Disability Insurance.
“This is how you show your ‘solidarity’ to immigrants? Really? If you care so much about immigrants, maybe we should discuss your time at HHS, Xavier,” Steve Hilton replied.

Taco carts are unregulated vendors who skip permits and safety standards, and in doing so, undermine legitimate businesses – and possibly your gastrointestinal system.
Taco carts and trucks often park illegally, in front of other businesses, and are not subject to health inspections. Who knows where the food is made, or how clean or not the cart operator is.
The backlash against Becerra underscores tensions in many cities across California over street vending, where carts lack permits amid ongoing debates between cultural authenticity and mandatory business compliance.
Unsurprisingly, Becerra has not directly responded as the discussion continues.
“Cal Chamber going along with Becerra is learned helplessness, given that California has the worst business climate,” Candidate Steve Hilton said in June at a press conference in response to the Cal Chamber’s endorsement. “It’s a display of utter cowardice on behalf of the Cal Chamber.”
Any governor of California must represent all citizens, business owners, employees, vendors and workers. Becerra has made clear many times recently that his priority are those who are in the state illegally. And that should infuriate every legal California resident.
As Spencer Pratt commented, “The next Governor of CA just told everyone to avoid CA Mexican restaurants like Tito’s Tacos and Don Antonio’s and instead go to an illegal street vendor who doesn’t pay taxes nor follow any health codes. And he thought ‘yeah let’s post that on main.'”
“CA is so screwed.”
Should we turn California into a third world hell hole in exchange for street tacos on every corner? Xavier Becerra already told us his preference.

SEIU will now find a way to unionize illegal street venders. They want their union member dues, aka 105 for the Big Guy.. From the looks of it in our town , I suspect these street vendors also front for prostitution. Someone needs to stake this out.

Now why would CalChamber leadership endorse Xavier Becerra considering his divisive history spanning four decades as a career Democrat who has done absolutely NOTHING to improve the state’s business climate? Maybe CalChamber’s leadership has received lucrative financial incentives from big labor in exchange for endorsing Xavier Becerra?
The top leadership of CalChamber seems to be lacking real business experience. Take for instance CalChamber President & CEO Jennifer Barrera who laughably said that “California needs collaboration, not conflict. Secretary Becerra represents the best candidate to embrace that style of leadership.” Prior to joining CalChamber, she worked as an attorney at a statewide labor and employment defense firm. She has a B.A. in English from California State University, Bakersfield, and a J.D. from California Western School of Law. She’s never run or started a business and she would probably fail if she tried? Why is she CEO?
Labor peace and freedom from any Big Union protection racket thugs, is a possible explanation why the Chamber blinked? And why Becerra groveled.
Not healthy for this state, if this is the case for either possibility. Make California Safe Again from organized labor thugocracies . Time was when the longshoremen created nothing but labor unrest trouble, until they too chased out the underlying ports and maritime business in the port of SF. This is an evolving issue in this state – who chooses to acts as the current bad guys and who intentionally stir labor unrest – follow the money.
Me thinks that Cal Chamber has been infiltrated by nefarious characters. These lefties are more driven to take over things, and ruin them, than these groups are motivated to defend them. If they don’t take back their operation, they are toast. The Moochers will burn it all down. Is Atlas Shrugging yet?
The only reason Jennifer Barrera supports Xavier Becerra is because she is a Hispanic racist who will always support Hispanic candidates no matter how bad they are for business and the people of California. Steve Hilton is white, so of course, this racist will not support him.
Cal Chamber needs to purge the racists in their organization.
Big Labor in this state is now primarily tax dollar-funded teachers unions, SEIU, the nurses unions, and what is informally called the “Mexican Mafia” of construction trades unions feeding off government construction contracts. And there are plenty of others feeding solely off the tax dollar trough.
Your suspicions about possible trade-offs are warranted. Or actually a mutual admiration society. If the state never finishes the Train to Nowhere, then no one ever loses their highly lucrative tax dollar funded jobs. Etc, etc, etc ……get it?
How many tax dollar-funded employees and union members are covered under Democrat endorsements for Xavier Beccerra? Government employee unions and government construction projects are Big Business in California. They do recycle our tax dollars back into local businesses. .
Case in point when enquiring what health breakthroughs our now 20 year old StemCell bond issue has provided, their website only talks about numbers of persons employed and how many dollars have been recycled back into the economy. 100% silent about any stem cell health care breakthroughs. I am sure the local Chambers of Commerce where these “stem cell” research facilities are located ,are more than happy with this free flow of tax dollars into their own businesses.
Wasn’t there 10 B in funding for that?

The prospect of such a light-weight loser as Xavier Becerra, hand-picked in hopes that he will be a willing and able lapdog for all the bad guys in this state, a fool that even extreme Obama-and-Biden-era bottom-feeder Susan Rice called a “bitch-ass,” as reported by Axios, who also reported that Rice passed a note to Alejandro Mayorkas reading “don’t save him” when Becerra was struggling in a cabinet meeting, evokes such an impossible, never mind ridiculous and super-corrupt portent for California that it’s difficult to even mention his name, never mind write about him AT ALL. And don’t forget he is implicated in sketchy dealings regarding his involvement in disappearing campaign money. So let’s wait and see what happens with this clown Becerra.
Still trying to decide which light-weight loser would have been worse: Beccera; Swallwell; Steyer? Dems sure know how to pick them.

The entire pool of Democrats they have to choose from are all losers. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be Democrats. Democrats haven’t accomplished anything productive in decades.
When I first saw video this on TV, I dropped my beer in my lap. I once called the sheriff near where I live because a taco truck was parked so far out towards the road in a storeparking lot that people trying to go left couldn’t see vehicles was coming. The deputy said to me on the phone, are you calling about the truck? I said no, it’s a safety issue. I said I understand that California is all in with the black market.
Just think, a thousand bucks will buy a flat top grill and an umbrella so these guys can park across the street from a family owned restaurant. Small restaurants have a razor thin profit margin, it often takes years to to recover startup costs. Local, county, state and federal governments shake down restaurants for money in innumerable ways in addition to driving up operational costs with rules, policies and legislation. With little overhead and no government oversight, the taco cart cart guy has a much larger profit margin on a $10 burrito than a restaurant owner does with a $13 restaurant burrito without shelling out on a lease – if a restaurant doesn”t own the building it’s operating in, the restaurant owner is working for the landlord, who jacks up the rent when he detects increased customer traffic. The taco cart scam fits right in with giving illegal aliens welfare benefits and “free” healthcare. That’s the purpose of it.
Whatever happened to the 14th amendment in regards to equal protection under the law? Taco cart vendors recieve little to no governmental scrutiny or “revenue sharing” while they’re all over restaurants like gravy on a biscuit.
