Illegal immigrant students goad Newsom to sign on-campus employment bill

From the “you can’t make this stuff up” file, illegal alien college students – in California illegally – protested at the state Capitol Monday to goad California Governor Gavin Newsom into signing a bill to allow their (illegal) employment on campus – even though they are in the state illegally.

“Newsom, Newsom, we aren’t tired! We won’t stop until we’re hired!” the illegal immigrant students chanted, obviously learned at the feet of ancient 1960’s self-described hippies.

Sacramento’s Fox50 News reported, “Undocumented students push for Newsom to sign on-campus employment bill:”

Dozens of college students rallied at the state capitol Monday to urge Gov. Gavin Newsom to sign a bill permitting some university systems from disqualifying undocumented students from a campus job due to their immigration status.

… “due to their immigration status.” That means these students are in California illegally, are not citizens yet want benefits available to legal citizens.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has already extended California’s taxpayer-funded universities and colleges to these students in the state illegally. Gov. Gavin Newsom extended California’s Medi-Cal health insurance to the students and their parents.

Assembly Bill 2586, the “Opportunity for All Act,” by Assemblyman David Alvarez (D-San Diego), would authorize on-campus employment within University of California, California State University and California community college systems for illegal immigrant students.

Here is how Assemblyman Alvarez describes his bill:

“The Assembly Bill will address the inequities faced by undocumented students in completing their degrees and supporting themselves financially while completing their education.”

…”Inequities faced by undocumented students.” Think about that.

No one wants to hold back immigrant students – at all. But these students are not legal immigrants – these “students” are in the country illegally. And Assemblyman Alvarez, who is knowingly advocating for something illegal, is conflating legal with illegal immigrants.

Most legal immigrants waited in line for citizenship for many years, and resent illegal immigrants jumping ahead for taxpayer-funded benefits and entitlements.

AB 2568 would “provide equal access to” employment on campus for illegal immigrants. But what about the students who are legal immigrants and citizens?

Why would anyone in California authorize employment on taxpayer-funded university and college campuses for illegal aliens/immigrants when thousands/millions of college students need employment?

When did it become standard operating procedure for elected members of the California Legislature to support policies for illegal aliens ahead of California citizens and legal immigrants?

The bill passed the Legislature in a 63-7 Assembly vote, and 31-8 Senate vote and now awaits Gov. Gavin Newsom’s signature or veto.

Any wagers on what Newsom will do?

  1. Globalists do not believe in borders and sovereign laws.
Assemblymen David Alvarez has shown he is a globalist and has no reverence for the citizenry of this country!
