The California Members’ latest fundraising numbers underscore their strength heading into 2024, a Real Clear Politics analysis shows. “California’s sheer number of competitive seats over the last several election cycles commands both parties’ attention and resources, and that won’t change this year.”
The Republican Member outraised Democrats in CA-13, CA-22, CA-27, CA-40 and CA-45:
- CA-13: Rep. John Duarte raised $454,797, ending with $1,236,861 cash on hand (COH).
-
- Adam Gray raised $222,881, ending with $197,228 COH

The third quarter numbers further highlight the messy Democrat primaries in CA-22, CA-40, CA-45 and CA-47.
NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen weighed in:
“While messy, chaotic Democrat primaries force their candidates to battle over who’s the most extreme liberal, Republican members and candidates are building winning campaigns that will protect and grow our majority.”

“He is a patriot, an America First warrior who wins the toughest of fights,” Republican Representative Elise Stefanik said as she nominated Jordan for speaker on the House floor.
But multiple Republicans voted instead for McCarthy or Steve Scalise, the No. 2 House Republican whose own bid for speaker fell apart last week, or picked other candidates.
Yes too many squishes in the GOP that are really Democrats in disguise. They only run as Republicans in order to win their district (as always, it’s just about power and ego). Every single GOP rep that voted for Jefferies should be expelled from the party. The Dems would have done the same for any of their reps that crossed over.
