Section 69504 requires the superior court in each county to purchase and provide for the installation of the Flag of the United States and the Bear Flag of California in each superior courtroom in the county.
Section 69505 specifies procedures applicable for business-related travel expenses of judges and employees of the trial courts: The Administrative Director of the Courts is required to annually recommend policies and schedules for reimbursement of travel expenses and procedures for processing these requests. Each court has to develop a system for presentation and approval of requests, and the cost of the approved requests is paid from that court’s Trial Court Operations Fund.
Section 69507 authorizes the presiding judge of each superior court to designate a judge of the court to be available on days other than a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday to perform a marriage without fee.
Section 69508 requires the judges of each superior court having three or more judges to choose from their own number a presiding judge who serves as such at their pleasure. The presiding judge must distribute the business of the court among the judges, and prescribe the order of business.
Section 69508.5 requires in courts with two judges a presiding judge to be selected by the judges each calendar year and the selection should be on the basis of administrative qualifications and interest. However, if a selection cannot be agreed upon, then the office of presiding judge is rotated each calendar year between the two judges.
Finally, in a court with one judge, whether as the result of a vacancy in a judgeship or otherwise, a reference in a statute to the presiding judge means the sole judge of the court.
