‘Before I go to jail I will take you out. I will take out your entire family and you on my way out.’
On Thursday, Republican congressional candidate Omar Navarro went before a judge for allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend in San Francisco the weekend before, and for violating a restraining order.
Navarro from Torrance, was arrested around 3 a.m. outside the apartment of DeAnna Lorraine who is also running for congress against incumbent Nancy Pelosi.
After Navarro posted a $75,000 bail he continued to text Lorraine dozens of times.
The new texts were a violation of the same restraining order Lorraine obtained in August.
“Before I go to jail I will take you out. I will take out your entire family and you on my way out,” text Navarro. “I would be smiling in jail knowing a B*tch like you doesn’t exist in this world, and I will pay $25k to someone.”
Navarro also threatened to get Lorraine evicted from her apartment and would send photos of where she was living or staying to show he was watching or stalking her.
Navarro also threatened to post naked photos of Lorraine unless she saw him.
In court, prosecutors read one of the threatening texts, “I am going to have ANTIFA come after your family.“ and “You will push me to Dexter,” a reference to the Showtime television show about a serial killer.
Additionally, Lorraine’s cat “Muffin” and her grandmother’s life were threatened by Navarro.
Attorney Ken Lewis who is representing Navarro countered saying Lorraine invited him to visit her in San Francisco as a set up. He also claimed that Navarro hadn’t sent the text messages — his enemies on social media had. This is the same information Navarro told the California Globe after a prior arrest last Sunday, as California Globe reported.
Navarro appeared in court Thursday and pled not guilty. San Francisco Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bolanos revoked Navarro’s bail and ordered him back to jail. The judge said he was a threat to public safety, himself and to Lorraine. The judge ordered Navarro to undergo a psychiatric evaluation before was led away in handcuffs.
Lorraine spoke with the California Globe: “It’s been a very scary and stressful situation. I’ve had to deal with this in the background for months and I hope it’s over. I’ve felt unsafe with him being out of jail and I’m grateful for the swift and decisive action of the San Francisco DA’s office. I know there are people out there without a support team, without a voice, who are suffering with things like this in silence. This is one of those issues that cross political lines and I promise I will continue for those women and men out there, and for America.”
The California Globe was allowed to view some of the many texts Omar Navarro allegedly sent to DeAnna Lorraine. We have been asked to not post the screen shots of the texts at this time, but we can mention the context of the conversations.
The text messages from Omar Navarro are disturbing:
