Gascón’s Harassment, Discrimination, and Vindictiveness is Costing Taxpayers Hundreds of Million$
Over 20 prosecutors have filed lawsuits against the County for his unlawful and vindictive actions

George Gascón has fostered a toxic and hostile work environment at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office from the moment he stepped into his role. Before even meeting the prosecutors charged with upholding the law, he labeled those who might not align with his every decision as “internal terrorists.” This reckless disregard for collaboration and respect has poisoned the office for nearly four years, demoralizing those who have dedicated their lives to protecting the people of Los Angeles County.
Most Angelenos may not personally know their prosecutors, but these are the men and women who stand in the gap when victims are assaulted, robbed, or killed. They are the county lawyers who fight for justice on behalf of the community. Many could earn far more in the private sector but choose public service because they believe in safeguarding our safety and ensuring accountability for victims. They work for you—the People—not for Gascón, and certainly not to further anyone’s political agenda. Their only allegiance is to the law.
Yet, these brave public servants have been relentlessly persecuted by Gascón simply for doing their jobs. For standing up against unethical orders, they’ve been subjected to harassment, retaliation, and even defamation. Over 20 prosecutors, prioritizing their moral and legal obligations over Gascón’s political interests, have filed lawsuits against the County for his unlawful and vindictive actions. These prosecutors, some of the finest in the country, deserve to work in an environment free from harassment and discrimination.
Gascón’s conduct has shattered the integrity of the District Attorney’s Office, creating a chaotic workplace devoid of leadership and clear direction. His tenure has been marked by a systematic campaign of discrimination, retaliation, and mismanagement, including the hiring of inexperienced political appointees who denigrate career prosecutors. Worse, Gascón’s refusal to follow even basic legal protections have resulted in numerous lawsuits.
The consequences are staggering. The County has already settled one claim, and a jury recently awarded over a million dollars to another prosecutor after rejecting Gascón’s sworn testimony. Yet, the true financial cost has only just begun. With numerous other cases looming—conveniently delayed until after the upcoming election—taxpayers are on the hook for millions of dollars.
These brave prosecutors are not seeking personal gain—they are risking their careers to protect what is right. But the financial burden of Gascón’s mismanagement will not come from his pocket. Instead, the taxpayers of Los Angeles County will be forced to foot the bill for the mounting legal expenses and inevitable multi-million-dollar payouts.
If this weren’t enough, Gascón’s disastrous leadership has also led to the loss of critical grants, some of which fund services for victims of violent crime. To make matters worse, Gascón’s own handpicked Assistant District Attorney for Ethics and Integrity, Diana Teran, is now facing multiple felony charges. The ripple effects of his colossal misjudgment and repeated failures as a manager are immense.
As violent crime surges and public safety plummets, Gascón’s reckless actions have jeopardized the very system he was elected to uphold. The ultimate cost of his mismanagement will burden Angelenos for years, draining millions from public funds that could have been used to protect our communities. Los Angeles needs an elected DA who knows how to manage the largest prosecutor’s office in the country and who values career prosecutors. We can’t afford Gascón for another four years.
