Gov. Newsom Buys $9 Million House in Marin County

House buying further signals likely 2028 run for President

Governor Gavin Newsom, through a private LLC, bought a $9 million in the Marin County town of Kentfield on Thursday, where he is expected to begin soon dividing time from staying in Sacramento and commuting from his new home.

Since 2003, California Governors have often split time between living in Sacramento and elsewhere in the state. For both of his terms, former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger flew back and forth between Los Angeles and Sacramento each day on his private “Bear Force One” jet so that he could reside at his home in the Brentwood neighborhood of L.A. Former Governor Jerry Brown had less of a commute, often living in his Oakland home. Until Monday, Newsom appeared to break that trend, as they sold their Marin County house a year after being elected in 2018 and moved to Sacramento full-time, living in the suburb of Fair Oaks.

However, with their eldest child, Montana, officially entering high school for the 2024-2025 school year, the Newsoms said they were looking for a solution so as to not have to greatly disrupt their children’s education. As Newsom is set to leave the Governorship in January 2027 because of term-limits, it would likely mean a split-school situation for their children. After a growing number of rumors in the past few weeks, the Governor’s office confirmed in June that Newsom and his family will now officially split up time living in both Marin County and Sacramento.

“To ensure continuity in their children’s education, the family will split their time between Sacramento and Marin heading into the coming academic year,” the Governor’s office said in June. “The family’s children are transitioning grade levels, including to high school this fall. The Governor and First Partner want to create continuity in their children’s education, recognizing the Governor’s term ends in January 2027.”

That plan moved forward on Thursday when Newsom purchased a six bedroom, 5,609 square feet mansion in Kentfield, a town of around 7,000 with many millionaires and celebrities living in the community. Newsom even bought the house from a billionaire, Hyatt Hotels heir Daniel Pritzker. With Newsom now set to commute even more between the Bay Area and Sacramento for his final two years in office, the move also sets up what he is likely to do afterwards: launch a Presidential run.

With Donald Trump now reelected and Newsom not having to worry about a Kamala Harris reelection in 2028, Newsom is likely to resume his long-rumored plans to run for President following him leaving the Governor’s chair. The House in Kentfield is isolated enough to keep press at a reasonable distance away, and large enough for more advanced security measures such as bodyguards should they be needed.

“Newsom is obviously hoping that, in four years, America will see this as the Western White House,” explained political advisor Daniel Corwin to the Globe on Friday. “This is his Crawford Ranch or Mar-a-Lago. The Kentfield House, you know, we’ll be hearing a lot about it should he run. This isn’t a situation where ‘oh, he bought this house, he’s running’. No It is just a good sign that he is starting to move slowly away from the Governor’s seat and off to his next thing.

“Practically, he wanted his kids in a good school and to have a home ready for post-Governorship. But on a larger level, Newsom is eyeing an older mansion in Washington.”

It is currently unknown how much time Newsom will be splitting between his new home and Sacramento for the next two years.

  1. Doubt a big expensive house will make him any smarter.
It will provide a lot of room and privacy to host his sycophants and the democratic cabal.

  2. Congratulations to the Governor and his “Republican”(his words) wife.
So now that they are no longer “homeless” will he address the real issues of homeless on the streets of the inner cities and urban area of California?

We do not want him to forget about those living in the RVs’s just because his special, bucolic area of Kentfield is immune to this issue. Nice choice by the way , Gov Gav!

Let me make a prediction, he will never be the POTUS of this great republic. The MAGA movement is ascendant! The rest of the country sees the emperor of California has no clothes!

  3. “Practically, he wanted his kids in a good school”, explained political advisor Daniel Corwin to the Globe on Friday.

Right. Meanwhile this POS Governor is doing everything he can to block Charter schools and school vouchers, so others can’t have their kids in good schools.

    NO MORE DEMOCRAT GOVERNORS!

    1. How many homeless shelters and low income housing are in the ritzy town Kentfield or in Marin County where Gavin “Hair-gel Hitler” Newsom and mostly other wealthy Democrats live? ZERO!

While Newsom and AG Bonta have been suing cities across the state for the lack of affordable housing, Newsom and his Democrat cronies in the legislature have hypocritically exempted all cities in Marin County from having low income housing until 2031.

  4. What does that mean? Did he buy it, does he have a private company? How does it make money? or has someone else bought a house for him? Politics sure does pay well.
“Governor Gavin Newsom, through a private LLC, bought a $9 million in the Marin County town of Kentfield…”

    1. A very good question! I am glad you brought that up.
Especially when you take into consideration the seller associations. Daniel Pritzker of the Pritzker family. JB Prtizker is the Illinois Governor, a cousin to Daniel Pritzker.
Funny how they all travel in the same circles and heavily support organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center. Yes, the same center that attacks conservative groups in the name of “hate”.

This purchase reminds me of some of Obama’s real estate purchases before he ran for president. Curious!

    2. The LLC is likely a mask to cover Getty contributions and activity…like everything else in Gavie-poo’s past all the way back from Day 1.

      1. I agree John Schilling. I am not a big fan of Matt Gaetz but if he gets the AG position through confirmation or recess appointment (and Mr. Trump wants him) I think that Newscum’s real estate dealings deserve to be looked at. As One Fed Up Cali Girl points out, real estate seems to be the preferred mode of moving assets among the Dems; going back to Whitewater and the Clintons. Follow the money.

        1. Always follow the money Raymond😉

Newsom has moved money through real estate in the past.
Seems too cozy of a deal.

  5. The very mention of Gov Hairgell on any the national political blogsinstantly brings 100% howls of derision. The man has zero traction anywhere but Nancy Pelosi land, which is is also quickly evaporating.

    1. Everyone in the state and probably now the country DESPISES Newsom. I would bet a lot of money that even those who work for him or otherwise depend on him for $$$$ or position —– well, except for that mealy-mouthed Super-Sycophant AG Rob Bonta (who wants to be Gov) —- despise him also.

    1. As I’m sure you already know TJ, by all accounts and appearances, Gavin Newsom himself, as Lieutenant Governor, pushed and caused this exemption from “affordable housing” mandates for all the cities in Marin County some time ago. Furthermore this outlandish hypocrite, Gov Gavin Newsom, made sure the exemption would be in place until 2028. You know, the year Gruesome is to be elected President! AS IF! LOL!

    2. Whoops, TJ, I missed that! Now the exemption is until 2031? What the hell? But of course we knew extensions would be rubber-stamped so I really don’t know why I’m surprised. What a jerk

  7. Newsom don,t give a dam about us we need to impeach him he have destroyed us kick his ass out of office every body wise up we do not need this huddle head for president voteRED

  8. Is this what KumonAllah meant when she said folks shouldn’t have to spend more than half of their earnings on shelter ??? I just thought she was really, really bad at math seeing as how we already spend more than half of our incomes on taxes, which means we couldn’t possibly have THAT much left over for rent……….

    1. @Robert, I looked up the property on Zillow.
What I find interesting is that only one photo was posted for the listing. That is a bit unusual. A real estate broker typically posts more high quality photos to attract attention. It’s as if they already had a buyer lined up.

      1. Yes, indeed One Fed Up Cali Girl. This was a pre-negotiated cash deal. No need to post photos to find interested buyers.

  9. A lot of communities dump their problematic homeless on neighboring communities. But, to get some meaninful political interest going, start bussing mentally ill, drug addled homeless to Marin County, particularly close to the residences of prominent politicians.

  10. Noisome must be the world’s best financial manager if he can buy a mansion on his salary. If he put that sort of effort into the state’s finances California streets would be paved in gold instead of potholes. He is flaunting his corruption. Trump and his AG will take notice.
