‘Medicare for All’ and Your Informed Vote – the Path to Medical Freedom

Xavier Becerra stated earlier this year (2026) … “I have been a supporter of ‘Medicare for All’ for more than 30 years.  We can deliver real relief now while building toward a universal, single-payer CalCare system that puts people before profits”.

What is “Medicare for All”?   According to Mr. Becerra, “Medicare for All” has been around for more than 30 years.  This statement is misleading, because 30 years ago, in 1996, I was a general surgeon in private practice in Sacramento, right down the street from the Capitol, and Medicare was government provided healthcare insurance, exclusively for age 65 and older citizens.  It is also misleading that the present day Democratic Socialist candidates around the country under the same tent as the Democrats all exclaim that they are for “Medicare for All”, just like Becerra.

Would you agree with me that “Medicare for All” means socialized medicine for all, including everyone less than 65 years of age?  Said another way, does that mean “public medicine for all” and “private medicine” for none?  That’s what it means to me as a physician who used to receive Medicare payment for operating on California citizens of all ages beyond pediatric age.  The government signed the front of the paycheck, and I signed the back of it.

It is time to clear the air about this confusing nomenclature so everybody in America knows who’s who in this broken healthcare system.  Only then can we square off and establish a winner and a loser, and in a united fashion make medicine affordable, safe, efficient and productive again, because as you know, we are vortexing the drain as it stands now.  Time is running out and the opportunity to make healthcare FREE OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL is upon us, front and center.  

By the year 2000, the “new millennium”, our federal and state governments were hard at it in expropriating me from my vocation and stripping me of my right to caringly help you get well from serious diseases that would otherwise kill you.  By violating my right to care for you, these entities violated you of your right to access myself and every other physician in California and in the nation because of the abusive, fraudulent, and wasteful meddling of the government into the business of HEALING.

Back in 1978, while I was a 3^rd year medical student and knew absolutely nothing of the business or economics of medicine, an economist named Milton Friedman gave a talk at the Mayo Clinic about socialized medicine. He defined how it invariably comes about and what it invariably does to society.  Please have a careful listen!  

Friedman’s analysis is spot on.  I witnessed the government takeover of a fragile free market medical system in Sacramento and then transform it into the incompetent, unaffordable, and careless fiasco it is today.  Especially painful to me, causing frequent nightmares ever since exiting from this corrupt system, is the siphoning of most of the money meant for “healthcare insurance” into fraudulent NGO’s and non-profits at the hand of literal monsters like Newsom and Obama; literally trillions of dollars. Please thank God for DOGE! And this is all at the expense of the growing list of patients out there being delayed from urgent and elective surgeries, as per Friedman!  That ongoing suffering breaks my heart, especially knowing that those operations are done to save lives and relieve agonizing pain and worry and bring peace and rest to those suffering and their families. Recognize that every politician out there at all levels is in on it, because big government is way out of hand and needs to be demoted to what we allow them to be in office for in the first place.  Government has no right to meddle with voluntary free market arrangements via control and regulation of ANY industry, let alone medicine. Why? Just listen to Friedman!  

Pharmaceutical companies, healthcare insurance companies, medical academia, and mainstream media are all in on it too.  Notice the demise of all these entities, as defined by Friedman, in this scam!   This “division of fraud” is the essence of REGULATORY CAPTURE, all being exposed now to the unwary, average middle class citizen. 

Allow me to explain something I learned a couple of weeks ago while listening to Steve Hilton talking about his history before becoming a US citizen.  He said very plainly, and I paraphrase here, that he is quite aware of the disaster of the British National Health Service (NHS) that Friedman spoke of in 1978.  He lived through it, and he is completely against it and knows exactly how to fix it!

“Medicare for All” is the path to communist medicine, and it is a nonpartisan process. Friedman’s analysis makes it quite clear that ALL industry in America is in the process of government takeover. So, are we going to follow the path of Great Britain, or Sweden? Your informed VOTE will either enter us onto the path of MEDICAL FREEDOM, or not. Help us, Mr. and Mrs. California. Help us young Californians.    

Get out and vote and tell all your friends! It’s kind of a “Save Act”, just like the original save act we are trying to get across the goal line right now!  Vote, vote, vote!  Fight, fight, fight!
