Xavier Becerra Backs Out of Another Debate with Steve Hilton
Why would Becerra not want to be seen by Hispanic voters in a Univision debate?

Republican Steve Hilton has reported that Democrat Xavier Becerra backed out of yet another debate in the California gubernatorial race.
Hilton is everywhere, criss-crossing the state every day. Becerra is taking a page out of former President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, and mostly running his campaign from an underground bunker.
During the weekend, we learned that Becerra backed out of the Univision debate, citing a “scheduling conflict.” Univision? Why would Becerra not want to be seen by Hispanic voters in a Univision debate?
Hilton noted that his team offered to accommodate Becerra’s schedule, and tied it to Becerra’s recent claims, proven false about how his parents came to the U.S. with $12 in their pocket.

Even a serious candidate safely ahead in the polls would show up to convey his policies, and commitment to the job. Anything less is insulting to voters.
Refusing to show up to debate demonstrates a lack of sincerity, as well as obvious insecurity about being called on the carpet on policy issues.
Hilton and Becerra held one televised general-election debate, hosted by CNN in Burbank on September 30, 2026. Hilton went on offense from the start, pressing Becerra on his record as attorney general and as Biden HHS secretary, the Globe reported.
So far, it is the only actual face-to-face matchup before the November 3 election.
Polls at the time showed Becerra with a roughly 25 point lead – the Berkeley IGS/LA Times figured around 58%–33%.
Hilton has repeatedly pressed for more debates, and has done internal polling showing the gap closing between the two candidates.
Xavier Becerra’s lead over Steve Hilton shrunk to just 5.6 points in a poll conducted immediately after the their’ first and only debate.
“The poll, commissioned by Hilton’s campaign and conducted by pollster David Wolfson on Oct. 1-2, surveyed 1,020 California voters and found Becerra with 45.7% support to Hilton’s 40.1%, while another 14.1% remain undecided,” the CA Post reported.
Perhaps that, and he didn’t want to be asked why he lied to millions about his family’s immigration history, explains why last week Becerra pulled out of the scheduled Los Angeles Times debate.
Hilton posted the announcement on X Monday afternoon, calling the withdrawal a break from a pledge Becerra made in August to participate in multiple debates.

Hilton challenged Becerra to a series of debates after the primary, and Becerra’s campaign said he would debate, but criticized Hilton for seeking publicity.
Hilton said by backing out of the debates, Becerra was “taking voters for granted” and avoiding scrutiny.
Becerra’s campaign claims scheduling issues and continues to refer to Hilton as the Trump-backed Republican.
In the only face-to-face debate, Hilton brought up former Obama/Biden advisor Susan Rice’s comments calling Becerra an “idiot” and “bitch-ass” when he was HHS Secretary during the Biden administration, and accused him of never creating a job in more than three decades in politics. Axios originally reported “Rice referred to Becerra as a ‘bitch-ass’ and privately called him an ‘idiot,’ according to multiple sources.”

Interesting comment. It conveys the same attitude as Karen Bas why even hold an election. I would encourage you to look at history. Dewey was supposed to win the Presidency in the 1950’s; Hillary was a mile ahead in the polls and lost. Elections are won and lost at the ballot box and not in skewed polls. I want to check back after the election to see how well your comment ages.

How can anyone vote for Becerra? He clearly does not respect the people of California. His arrogance and entitlement know no bounds. He is corrupt, a liar and he will be worse than Newsom. If I got my A** Handed to me like he did on that last debate I think I would be hole up in a basement like he is. The Democrats have nothing except hate Trump and they know it. Their party is monetarily broke, it’s in shambles, they have no leaders, some of their politicians are being outed and investigated for all kinds of nefarious crimes, and last but not least the Democrats have a Socialist / Communist party within their party (I know, it’s a big tent. Rolling my eyes) not to mention also an Islamic tilt.
I do fear tho, that TDS is strong in these idiots, mix TDS with their election fraud and this Gavin Newsom 2.0 clown could win IF we don’t turn out. Also, IF they continue to count votes for a month after the election to “find” enough votes until he wins then…I just don’t put anything past a Democrat. Theres something wrong with these people. If you cannot feel it, if not plainly see for yourself that Trump has been compromised by the controlling traitors’ threats to those he holds most dear, no doubt, and that he has thus given in, then you have not been paying attention. We need Trump and company to act now, but he and his team instead pretend that all is well enough, that it is all just politics as usual. It is far from that. This is war, and the USA is losing without having so much as thrown a punch.

RINO traitor John Thune Thune posted a social media message honoring “Native Americans’ Day” in South Dakota instead of the federal holiday Columbus Day on Oct. 12. The Post: Thune wrote, “Today is Native Americans’ Day in South Dakota, an opportunity to celebrate the heritage and contributions of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota people.” It was an insult to Italian Americans and a departure from traditional Republican support for Columbus Day. Senator Bernie Moreno explicitly called the stance “dumb.”

The man (?) is clearly afraid some real questions are going to be asked about his democratic vision of California which would of course require him to paint some pie in the sky picture via more democrat lies. As I stated many time. Anyone under the age of 45 should be careful what they’re voting for. You, as a group will be the recipient of the folks and policies they produce into your retired years. I wish you the best of luck with what you’re apparently walking into. I’m 75. It’s no longer in my best interest to support any man (?) who cannot standup and announce what his plan is.
