Rep Gray Refuses to Comment on CA Redistricting, Attempts to Block Constituent’s Recording

Today, President Trump announced that the DOJ intends to sue California to stop Newsom’s redistricting plan

In a video shared online, Democratic Congressman Adam Grey (CD-13) is seen blocking a constituent’s phone to stop his recording and evaded answering if he supports Governor Gavin Newsom’s and California Democrats’ plan to “temporarily” redistrict California into a permanent Democratic majority through the elimination of any and all Republican representation in the once-Golden State.

The Globe reached out to Gray’s Communications Director JoJo Duchesne (she/her) for comment, but had not received a response at the time of publishing.

For background, the “toss-up’ race between Gray and incumbent Republican Congressman John Duarte was decided in Gray’s favor by a mere 142 votes as ballots were continually counted for a month after Election Day.

The Globe reported that on November 14th, Duarte’s lead was enough for a few outlets to call the race in his favor, but as ballots continued to be received and counted, his lead dwindled to a razor-thin loss.

Duarte stood at 79,456 votes and Gray at 75,693 with a total of 73% of the vote in. In terms of percentages, it was 51.2% to 48.8%. This led a few outlets to begin calling the race, and many others expected to do so at the next tally.

However, in the next week votes for Gray seemed to pour in, leading many to back off calling Duarte the victor. In late November, updates had the race grow closer grew closer, with Duarte only up 101,217 votes to 100,866, or, 50.1% to 49.9%. Then with Gray finally pulling ahead with the last mail-in votes being counted, 104,503 votes to Duarte’s 104,321 votes.

The closeness of the race, and California’s decision to continue counting votes that arrived up to 7 days past election day, has caused the Republican National Committee (RNC) to file lawsuits against California. The 1 month to allow counting of curated and late votes also became a cause celebre, with even President elect Donald Trump weighing in on the issue. Many Republicans have also said that the 13th District, as well as the 45th district where Congresswoman Michelle Steel (R-CA) lost, had been decided not on the election day vote count, but through late and curated ballots that in most other states would be illegal to count.

The new redistricting map proposed for Congressman Gray’s district has been redrawn (see below) to reduce Republican representation from 29 to 27 percent, a loss of two percent.

NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez told The Globe, “Adam Gray has gone from attacking California voters with his radical policies to physically lashing out at them. Emboldened by Gavin Newscum’s corrupt power grab, Gray doesn’t even pretend to care about Californians. That’s what an out-of- touch politician caught red-handed supporting a rigged system looks like.”

Today, President Trump announced in a press conference that the DOJ intends on suing to stop the ballot initiative slated to appear before California voters on November 4.

“I think I’m going to be filing a lawsuit pretty soon, and I think we’re going to be very successful in it. We’re going to be filing it through the Department of Justice. That’s going to happen,” he said.

On social media, Governor Newsom responded, “BRING IT.”

    1. “Sleazeball” for sure. Probably the constituent should file an assault charge. It’s a “battery” at the very least. In a normal world, anyway.
Cheating sleazeballs like Dem Adam Gray and his corrupt fellow Dem politicians ALREADY think they don’t have to respond in any way or do anything at all to win constituent support. As we see here they even think they can abuse with impunity anyone who asks them a legitimate question. Imagine what it will be like if Newsom’s “Election Rigging Act” is shoved through.

  1. Besides the counting of votes until enough were found (or created) to put a character like Democrat Adam Gray into office by a razor thin margin during the last election, it’s also curious at to how he was elected in a District 13 in the first place which is overwhelming Hispanic at almost 66 percent (with some probably in the country illegally)?

Adam Gray was previously married to Cadee Condit, the daughter of former Democrat Congressman Gary Condit who was involved in the controversy surrounding the disappearance of Chandra Levy.

Adam Gray, who served in the Assembly from 2012-2022 representing the 21st District, was a proponent of the state giving $6.5 million to Merced County to expand Google’s self-driving testing program at Castle Air Force Base in 2018. Three years later, Merced County declared three parcels of land at the former air base surplus. Gemenii LLC purchased four apartment buildings for $600,000 in 2022. It turned out that Adam Gray is a minority owner of Gemenii LLC.

In July 2023, seven months after Gray left office, California awarded Merced County nearly $50 million to develop 70 acres at the air base for a new inland port. The area is now called Castle Commerce Center. According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Gemenii LLC spent millions of dollars renovating former barracks on site for affordable housing units.

In August 2024, the Los Angeles Times reported that Gray bought real estate shortly before a $50 million state-funded redevelopment of 70 acres of the former Castle Air Force Base. Gray had disclosed the investments to state officials, but not on his federal disclosure forms after 2022. The timing of Gray’s investment raised concerns about his having a conflict of interest.

On August 13, 2024, Gray reported in his financial disclosure report that he earned income from Blaker Brewing, which has a taproom just down the street from the apartment project at Castle Commerce. Gray reported $2,403.71 in income from Blaker Brewing for consulting work. Gray’s ties to Blaker Brewing run deep. While he was in the Assembly, his office named Blaker Brewing the District 21 Small Business of the Year. He also held his 2022 election night watch party at the taproom, where his campaign spent over $800 on food and drinks, per campaign filings. Further, the property that the taproom sits on is owned by Shane and Kim Parson. Federal Election Commission filings show that Shane Parson donated $1,150 to Gray’s Congressional campaign in 2022.

“Self-serving Sacramento politician Adam Gray treats Valley taxpayers like his personal ATM,” said National Republican Congressional Committee Spokesperson Ben Petersen. “Gray funnels taxpayer money to his own interests, profits off insider real estate deals and cashes in on his government office.”

  2. He reminds me of the old-school mob guys. I was waiting for, “It would be in your best interest to support me…”

  3. The democrat party doesn’t represent Americans or our Constitutional Republic. They are an anti-American organized criminal enterprise.

  4. It’s concerning when elected officials avoid transparency, like Rep. Gray blocking a constituent’s recording. The importance of fair representation in redistricting decisions cannot be overstated. Accountability and openness are crucial in our democracy.
