Thanksgiving Dinner with the Seibels must be awkward

Cousins of California Governor Gavin Newsom’s “first partner” (aka “wife”) Jennifer Seibel will be holding a fundraiser for Donald Trump later this week.

Tom Siebel, a cousin of Jennifer Seibel Newsom, will host the fundraiser in Woodside, CA.

Oh the delicious, juicy, lovely irony…

In 2022 the Globe reported that while Gov. Gavin Newsom still had the state of California locked down, “Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, parents of Newsom’s wife Jennifer Siebel and longtime California residents, became Florida residents in 2020 after purchasing a $3.3 million Naples home in March of that year, records show. The Siebels appear to still have ownership of their California home in northern San Francisco suburb of Ross.”

This also coincided with Gov. Newsom’s obvious obsession with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, which may explain the reason for his compulsion.

Fox News reported, “Not only did the in-laws of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom give money to one of his biggest political foes; they fled from his state during the pandemic.”

We also discovered that Newsom’s in-laws made a significant $5,000 contribution to Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on April 6, 2022.

Ouch. Thanksgiving Dinner at the Seibel’s must be awkward. And Christmas. And birthdays. And vacations.

Newsom lobbed lots of cheap shots at DeSantis since the Florida Governor kept his state open during Covid, while Newsom not only locked down California businesses, schools and people in their homes, but held his emergency powers for three years under his March 4, 2020 State of Emergency declaration.

Remember these bizarre events?

In April 2022, Newsom criticized DeSantis on Twitter for “punishing Disney over its opposition to Florida’s new law banning discussion of sexual orientation in early grades,” calling the action “authoritarian.” Gov. Newsom claimed “We protect free speech in California. Punishing businesses for speaking out against hatred is the move of an authoritarian regime.”

DeSantis responded in-kind: calling San Francisco a ‘dumpster fire’ and saying he doesn’t want Golden State businesses moving to Florida.

In June 2022, Gov. Newsom purchased $105,000 of cable television ad buys in Florida to air on July 4th.

Newsom’s July 4th ad was bizarre: “It’s Independence Day, so let’s talk about what’s going on in America,” says Newsom in the ad. “Freedom is under attack in your state. Republican leaders are banning books, making it harder to vote, restricting speech in the classroom, even criminalizing women and doctors.”

“I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight, or join us in California,” Newsom said. “We still believe in freedom, freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love. Don’t let them take your freedom.” (That didn’t weather well)

Gavin Newsom talking about freedom was rich – he was the country’s Covid lockdown king.

The tickets for the Seibel fundraiser later this week could set you back as much as $500,000 per couple, according to the Los Angeles Times.

  1. Oh to be a fly on the wall at the full family Seibel-Newsom holiday gatherings.
    If there are any….
If they occur I sure hope for the sake of everyone who attends that Gavin has the discipline to steer clear of the pinot noir. Yikes.

  2. “Freedom is under attack in your state. ” Gov. Newsom on Florida.

It’s always laughable when the Democrats talk about freedom.

World Population Review ranks California with the least freedom of any state other than Hawaii and New York. They rank Florida number one for freedom.

This is not surprising. You can’t even buy a gas powered lawn mower in California. It’s pathetic.
