Teen OPINION: California’s Woke Education System Is A Failure

As a California High School student I have major concerns that I would like to share about our current education system and how I feel the woke are dangerously grooming kids my age, and kids of all ages. 

It seems like the entire California Department Of Education is more focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and their woke ideologies than giving students a proper education. Kids are graduating without being able to read and write, without math or history knowledge, but they certainly understand what diversity, equity and inclusion are all about. 

These woke teachers like all liberals are not teaching kids about inclusion, they are teaching them to be confused about their genders, how to mutilate their bodies and how to force others to accept that as normal. The DOE has even had kids removed from their homes if a child wants to change their gender and the parents won’t agree to it. 

The Biden Administration, Governor Gavin Newsom and these liberal teachers are allowing sexually explicit books in schools, all grades k-12, exposing them to drag shows and purposely confusing and therefore grooming them. What has happened to our Education System? Why should the DOE have any say in what kids can do to their bodies, sexual exploitation in our books, drag shows, sharing bathrooms with the opposite sex or anything but providing kids with the education they need to move forward and hopefully go to college? 

What happened in our state, and our country to make it acceptable to force kids to share rest rooms and locker rooms with the opposite sex and take parents rights away? This state, the DOE even labeled parents as domestic terrorists if they spoke out at parent meetings and tried to exercise their rights as parents to protect their children. 

Why are parental rights even in question, and what kind of state, what kind of country labels concerned parents domestic terrorists and yet never hold real criminals accountable for their actions? 

As a teenager I can tell you kids my age and all ages are under tremendous pressure and many are confused. Instead of teachers notifying parents and coming together with them and the students to offer them counseling and support, they tell kids to change their gender and all of their problems will be resolved. 

These confused kids listen to them and many become depressed and suicidal. I never thought as a student I would see anything like this woke insanity in my lifetime, but here we are. 

I was raised to respect my family, friends, teachers, heroes and all adults. I cannot however respect or condone the DOE and California’s Education system that is trying to control all kids instead of educating us while they force DEI down our throats and try to make concerned parents out to be the bad guys. 

Our future students need to be educated, not groomed and implemented into their woke ideologies. Kids need support from parents and teachers, not to be taught to change their gender, and to mutilate their bodies. 

California test scores have gone down considerably since 2020 with a 5.1 percentage rate drop, that’s huge. So basically kids aren’t getting educated, they’re being indoctrinated. Before it was CRT – now it’s DEI. What’s next? 

President Donald Trump says he will do away with the DOE. I fully support that. It should be illegal to be teaching anything in school but a basic education. I believe the DOE is dangerously affecting kids as they have imposed their own woke agenda. We need to move education back to the states and local school boards. Needs are different in every state and local district, but I can tell you there is no need for grooming. 

As a student myself, I expect to go to school and receive an education, not indoctrination. I as a student and a teenager defer to my mom for guidance and never question my gender or her rights to make decisions that are in my best interest. 

I feel the DOE has been given too much power and control with little focus on studies and the main focus on their woke agenda. This comes from a crooked Commander in Chief and an equally crooked Governor. They fly the LGBTQ flag above and before our American Flag. They teach you to honor a LGBTQ flag but take the pledge of allegiance out of our schools. It’s time to not only take our country back, but our states as well, and the right to a fair education without having the liberals’ woke agenda forced upon us. 

In this state and across our country our schools are actually teaching division not inclusion. We are taught we are different instead of bringing everyone together, that’s what DEI teaches. 

But the vast majority of my friends see things differently. We don’t see differences, we see equality, we don’t look to our teachers or the DOE for guidance, we look to our parents. 

We believe in two genders, support each other and that we all deserve a good and a solid education. Don’t let the left teach you that you’re different, don’t let your teachers confuse you, don’t let the DOE determine your future or your parents rights. 

Join me in demanding your rights to a good education without the woke nonsense. Let us look to our parents for guidance and let’s all take our country, our education and our futures back before it’s too late.
