UPDATE below:

Conservative commentator and California GOP Congressional Candidate DeAnna Lorraine filed another police report on Congressional candidate Omar Navarro a day after he was arrested for violating a restraining order, as the California Globe reported.

Navarro, who is also her ex-boyfriend, was taken into custody Sunday morning for allegedly sending her threatening messages and pacing outside her window wearing a dark hoodie. The charges against Navarro include multiple felonies and a misdemeanor.

However, the threats continued even after Navarro posted bail Sunday afternoon for $75,000.

“He is still threatening me”

DeAnna Lorraine, who is running against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, told the California Globe in an interview that she had to file another police report Monday. Allegedly, Navarro, who is also running for Congress in California against Maxine Waters, started a new round of threats causing Lorraine to fear for her life.

“He is still threatening me. The latest texts are that he and his team will apparently be posting some damaging videos of me,” said Lorraine. The police, however, cannot arrest Navarro again, said Lorraine.

“Unfortunately, because he posted bail yesterday, the police said they are unable to arrest him unless he is physically in front of me.”

“No one should have to deal with this. This is an issue that crosses racial and political lines as well. It is unacceptable,” said Lorraine. “I feel very unsafe with him being on the loose right now, even more angry and retaliatory.”

Navarro was arrested in San Francisco around 3 a.m. Sunday, hours after the Los Angeles Republican Party chose to endorse Joe Collins for the race against Maxine Waters. Lorraine told the Daily News, “Navarro threatened to pay $25,000 to have me killed if I don’t get back together with him, sleep with him or at the very least drop the civil court restraining order against him.”

“This is my first time dealing with something like this,” said Lorraine. “But I am not waiting years to report this behavior. I want to show women you can stand up immediately and fight back. I have texts, evidence of his extortion, dating back to July. I am fighting back in real time, and not waiting ten years.”

Lorraine previously filed an emergency Contempt of Court motion on November 13th after Navarro repeatedly violated the restraining order issued by Judge Gia Bosely of Torrance, District Court of Los Angeles.

Lorraine’s campaign manager said: “With such a long history of threats of violence and extortion against women, he has become quite the professional at sliding himself through the cracks to avoid prosecution and thankfully, the SFPD wasn’t going to let him get away this time.”

Navarro has a history of criminal behavior

Navarro, who was a GOP activist in the South Bay, tried to unseat incumbent Rep. Maxine Waters, in 2018. In September 2016, the then 28-year old pled guilty and was convicted of a misdemeanor for placing an electronic device onto his wife’s car. The sentence was one day in jail and 18 months probation. In addition Omar was ordered to take anger management courses according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

“I fully believe in due process. It was not easy to get a restraining order. I had to show the judge concrete evidence,” said Lorraine.

Lorraine shared a statement with the California Globe

Lorraine shared the following statement first with the California Globe Monday evening:

“I have faith in the justice system that it will provide me justice. Yes, it happened, yes we have the situation handled and yes this is part of what I’m going to do once I  am  elected to Congress. It is to help ensure that victims of this kind of abuse gets the protection they deserve. But the fact is that I still need to make it to Congress. We still have a fight to fight. And this isn’t about highlighting my personal situation and what I went through with Mr. Navarro; There are Omar’s all over the world, and so many men AND women deal silently with someone like him every day. Women, men, white, black, asian, straight, gay; this is an issue that crosses races and political lines. I am running for congress not because I am a victim or want to remain a victim but because I want to defend victims. My bigger concern is that there are people out there without a support team, without a voice, who are suffering in silence. I want to help be a voice for those people. I will not be intimidated, I’m not backing down. I will promise you that I will continue to fight and fight even harder for you, for those women and men out there, and for America.”

The California Globe reached out to Omar Navarro for comment on Sunday and Monday, but he has not responded.

UPDATE: Navarro denies stalking allegations in California Globe interview

In an interview late Monday evening with the California Globe, Navarro denied he was stalking and making threats to Lorraine. “I intend to fight these allegations vigorously and put forth all the facts – not just selective ones – before the Court.”

When asked why he was lurking around his ex-girlfriend’s apartment at 3 a.m., Navarro said, “She asked me to come over via phone calls. We never texted just called. When I got there, she told me to wait, and she set me up.”

Navarro denied making threats or contacting Lorraine after being released on bail. Lorraine said the calls and texts to her are from burner phones or Google voice messages, making it harder for police to prove the harassing calls on Monday were from Navarro.

Navarro said he is staying in the race against incumbent Maxine Waters despite the arrest and allegations. “There is no going back I am in this race to win. I will be going back to court to clear my name, it is a process. It takes time,” said Navarro.

“Please know I am not a jerk. I am a good guy, and I love Trump,” said Navarro.

  1. Does GOP candidate Navarro support California’s firearm confiscation provisions of a restraining order now that she sees how terrifying it is to be stalked and have law enforcement say there’s nothing they can do? Reminds me of Cheney turning pro gay when his daughter came out, or Rush Limbaugh being pro drug treatment after it was revealed he was a drug addict.

It’s all fun and games being a tough guy until you become the victim.

  2. They’re completely deluded if they believe that rational people will see her as a viable alternative to Speaker Pelosi. It’s no doubt obvious, even to those two, that he has no chance in Waters’ district- so why not have him be the ‘bad guy’ in their transparent scenario /stunt? It’s disturbing, pathetic and disrespectful to the memory of true victims and survivors of stalking and domestic violence.
