Wealthy Social Activists Funding Democrat Candidates and Democrat PACS

The ‘bored wives’ of the ultra-wealthy hide out from California’s many actual societal problems in gated enclaves with security, where none of the consequences of their actions and support can reach them

Wealthy social justice activists tried to thwart the Proposition 36 ballot initiative which sought to revert back to law and order in California after Proposition 47 moved the state in the wrong direction, away from tougher criminal penalties.

And they are back, funding the left 2025-2026 Election Cycle. But first a short trip down memory lane.

Escalating crime throughout California’s cities and communities had taken its toll on the state’s residents and businesses, leading voters to Prop. 36. Because of Proposition 47, there was/is no accountability when it comes to these crimes, theft is underreported and some stores are even told not to report theft crimes. And we all are paying the price for the rampant thefts.

The Prop. 36 ballot initiative to amend Prop. 47 was on November 2024 ballot, and was passed by all 57 counties in California, overwhelmingly. But it wasn’t with a serious fight. Yet Governor Newsom refuses to fund it…

As the Globe reported in 2024, the wealthy spouses of real estate developers, tech billionaires and daughters of oil barons – people who live behind tall walls and secured gates, and whose cars and homes aren’t broken into, funded six-figure digital advertising campaign and spent heavily against law and order.

“The four donors — Patty Quillin, Quinn Delaney, Elizabeth Simons and Kaitlyn Krieger — channeled $22 million toward criminal justice ballot measures and allied candidates the previous two years, and their campaign contributions have steadily increased each election cycle,” Politico reported in 2021. “They spent $3.7 million alone to elect George Gascón, who rode the social justice wave that swept over America last summer to unseat incumbent Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey in November.”

Are these just bored wives and daughters of wealthy philanthropists? No. It is far more serious than that.

Patty Quillin, wife of Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Quinn Delaney, wife of Bay Area real estate developer Wayne Jordan, Elizabeth Simons, daughter of a hedge fund billionaire, and Kaitlyn Krieger, wife of Instagram co-founder Michael Krieger are “social justice advocates.”

“Social justice advocates are preparing to defend the state’s top prosecutor, Attorney General Rob Bonta, who is closely aligned with the reform movement and one of the nation’s most liberal AGs,” Politico reported.

“Delaney has been involved in criminal justice fights for decades, launching a foundation with her husband Wayne Jordan — a prominent Bay Area real estate developer — after voters passed a 2000 ballot proposition toughening sentencing for youth offenders.”

Well, the wealthy four are back – we’ve dubbed them the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse, given their political donor proclivities – and have contributed more than half a million dollars to Democrat candidates and are supporting Democrat committees.

Liz Simmons gave $7,000 each to 15 different congressional candidates including California Democrats Rep. Derek Tran and Adam Gray, totaling $105,000.

Quinn Delaney gave individual contributions to 19 different Democrat candidates including California Democrats Rep. Derek Tran and Adam Gray, totaling $50,000. Delaney also $55,000 directly to the DCCC, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Patty Quillen gave $150,000 to the Working Families Party PAC, and $169,000 to the DCCC.

This is not actual philanthropy on the part of the ultra-wealthy, who once upon a time funded libraries, art museums, and the Opera, created scholarships for poor worthy students; they funded new wings for hospitals, or set up foundations for orphans and foster children.

How is what these donors are funding philanthropy? How is it progress? What is it with these super-wealthy women? Are they compelled out of guilt to fund disruption and destabilization in California? Are they self-loathing America-hating anarchists? Do they see themselves as female versions of George Soros? Too much of today’s “philanthropy” tears down institutions, supports abortion and assisted suicide, supports hardened criminals and subjugates victims, resulting in dangerous living conditions for the masses.

This is hell’s version of philanthropy, one of our readers commented, and what a wasteful, destructive, and sick version it is, for the elite class to seek social cachet by undermining what is need for a civilized society under cover of empty pretend-virtue.

The Four Women Spent $3.7 Million To Election George Gascón, who stopped the use of cash bail and the death penalty, and released multiple prisoners onto the streets who were convicted of violent crimes and murder.

These same dangerous “reforms” have serious consequences.

In 2021, a man was released without bail despite a history of committing violent crimes and later murdered a Sacramento woman and her dogs, I reported. “Troy Davis, 51 (aka Troy Davies), a parolee at large, was also let out on zero bail in June for stealing a car, even with his long history of violent crimes, and having recently been in prison for a violent felony. Tuesday, the 3,500 prosecutors in the California District Attorneys Association confirmed that the suspect accused of the horrific sexual assault and brutal murder of the Sacramento woman on Friday September 3, 2021, was released from prison following felony convictions in 2017 and 2018 for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, committed more crimes in June, and then was released again because of ‘zero bail’ policies.”

In 2022, a man accused of attempted murder after he hit 25 police officers with his vehicle was released without bail, I reported. “The horrific story of the 25 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department recruits mowed down by a driver on Wednesday just got worse. After police arrested Nicholas Gutierrez for attempted murder, they let him walk… without bail.”

At the time I asked, “Could this release of the suspect without bail be a direct result of the policies of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon?”

California has been on shaky ground having dabbled in failed social justice experiments for 10 years following the passage of Propositions 47 and 57 in 2016.

The proof of this is that the “bored wives” of the ultra-wealthy hide out from California’s vast array of actual societal problems in gated enclaves with security, where none of the consequences of their actions and support can reach them.

As another Globe reader commented, “They are ”

This isn’t philanthropy, which is the effort or inclination to increase the well-being of humankind, as by charitable aid or donations. Philanthropy is wonderful and noble – this is a group of bored, self-centered Marxists who enjoy fomenting societal chaos.

  1. Follow the money. I would bet that these women are “donating” ill-gotten NGO money. Just as Blackrock, Vanguard and State Street has used 401k depositors’ money to change corporate America values to their desires. Progressives rarely use their own money and have developed streams of income using others money to accomplish their goals and ideas.
