Wiener Meltdown: A Town Hall Exposed Radical Trans Agenda

Could it sink his congressional campaign?

In San Francisco’s Mission District, on November 10, 2025, California State Senator Scott Wiener, the progressive darling, self-proclaimed champion of the marginalized, and frontrunner to replace Nancy Pelosi in Congress, stepped into a political trap of his own making.

What was meant to be a routine campaign town hall instead became a national firestorm. In attendance was Grammy-nominated musician and Black lesbian activist Tish Hyman, who confronted Wiener over a simple question: “Are biological women safe in women-only spaces under California’s radical self-ID laws?” Wiener’s response, dodging, deflecting, and ultimately declaring “trans women are women” while a progressive crowd on hand booed Hyman, who is a sexual assault survivor.

This wasn’t just tone-deaf. It was a revelation. And thanks to Hyman’s now viral video, viewed tens of millions of times across social platforms, Scott Wiener has become the poster child for the outrageous and dangerous excesses of woke gender ideolog – and a prime target for his political destruction.

The town hall, hosted by Mission Local (an online progressive news platform) and billed as a “community conversation”, was classic San Francisco progressive theater: rainbow flags, pronoun checks, and a room full of activists ready to cheer any affirmation of identity politics. Wiener, armed with talking points, was there to cement his credentials as the heir apparent to soon to retire Pelosi’s seat in the CA-11 congressional district. He has every reason to feel confident. After all, he’s the architect of some of our state’s most radical LGBTQ+ laws: SB 132, which allows male inmates to transfer into women’s prisons based on self-declared gender identity; SB 145, which reduced penalties for certain adult-minor sexual acts; and policies forcing schools to hide children’s gender transitions from parents.

But then during Q + A, Tish Hyman took the mic.

Hyman, a Black lesbian with a history of surviving domestic violence, didn’t come to argue theory. She came with lived trauma. Weeks earlier, she had been famously banned from a Gold’s Gym in Beverly Hills after confronting a trans-identified male, a convicted domestic abuser, who shattered his ex-wife’s jaw. Hyman’s video of that incident had already gone viral on its own. Now, she wanted answers from Wiener, the man who wrote the laws enabling it.

“What would you say to women who are seeking assurance that their safety will be protected from men who, by California law, can self-identify as women in women-only spaces?” she demanded. “I’m talking about women. Not trans women, but women.”

The room froze. Then Wiener spoke.

Instead of addressing the convicted violent offender in women’s spaces, Wiener launched into a word salad of progressive garbage: “We want everyone to be safe… trans women are also brutalized… we have to protect all women…” He never once acknowledged the material reality of stronger male bodies in female spaces. He never condemned the gym incident itself. He never reassured biological women that their privacy, dignity, and safety mattered.

When Hyman pushed back, “Trans women are men,” the crowd erupted in boos. One activist shouted, “Trans women are women!”

Hyman, visibly shaken, stormed out, yelling over her shoulder: “You’re not protecting women! Men are harassing us in locker rooms! We cannot be raped in bathrooms by men who say they’re women!”

The video ends with Wiener standing silently as the room applauds – not for clarity, not for courage, but for ideological conformity, a conformity he enabled.

Within 24 hours, the video clip exploded. “WATCH: Democrat Senator Booed by Lesbian Survivor After Defending Men in Women’s Locker Rooms.” Megyn Kelly devoted a 20-minute segment to dissecting Wiener’s “disgusting” performance. On Twitter/X, #ScottWienerMeltdown trended for days. Even left-leaning women began to speak out. Wiener is done telling ladies their trauma doesn’t matter.

But the backlash wasn’t just emotional, it was evidentiary. Hyman’s case wasn’t isolated. Under Wiener’s SB 132, over 300 male inmates, 44 of whom were convicted of sex crimes, have transferred into California women’s prisons. Reports of rape, assault, and harassment have followed. In one documented case, a woman was impregnated by a trans-woman identified male inmate. In the UK, similar self-ID policies led to male rapists being housed with female prisoners. Wiener knows this. He apparently champions it.

Scott Wiener isn’t just a supporter of trans rights; he’s the engineer of policies that erase women as a sex class. His legislative record reads like a gender-critical nightmare:

– SB 132 (2020): Allows any male prisoner to declare himself a woman and be transferred to a female facility, regardless of criminal history, genitalia, or transition status.

– SB 145 (2020): Reduced sex offender registry requirements for adults who commit certain acts with minors aged 14–17, if the age gap is under 10 years. Many refer to this as the “pedophile protection act.”

– School secrecy laws: Wiener has fought to keep parents in the dark when children socially transition at school.

– Bathroom and locker room self-ID: California law, bolstered by Wiener’s advocacy, allows anyone to enter sex-segregated spaces based on identity alone, no surgery, no hormones, no questions asked.

This isn’t inclusion. This is invasion.

Wiener’s response to all of this? “Trans women are women.” Full stop. No caveats. No safeguards. No acknowledgment that male-pattern violence doesn’t vanish with a pronoun.

Scott Wiener is running in the safe Democratic district of San Francisco, but safe districts can crack when voters see the truth. We’ve seen it before and we’ve collectively and decisively acted. We can use this moment to bury his congressional ambitions. He could ride identity politics to Congress. He is wrong. The Hyman confrontation wasn’t just a viral moment, it was a referendum on whether women still exist as a protected class under the law. Wiener’s answer was clear: No.

  1. Well, the first thing I would do, if I were him, is change my freaking name. He is another one that needs to be taken out of office and replaced. With whom? When you start from the bottom, ANYONE Is an improvement. That’s not going to happen soon, so, hopefully, this is a start to keep him out of Washington if we are lucky. Wiener? 🙄

  2. For a long time I have been casually trying to come up with a joke that desribed Scott Weiner as a walking, talking phallus with ears while tying it to his last name, with the punchline of Scott Weiner being a “d**k,” but it so far has eluded me. It is a sad commentary that Weiner has become the living symbol of nearly everything the democrat party in california champions, a communist deviant with no sense of either compassion or even humanity.

  3. Well, let’s hope against hope that Tish Hyman broke the spell, shattered the hypnotic trance, by speaking up in a Scott Wiener town hall this way. But given the years and year and years of horrors Scott Wiener’s perverted legislation has unleashed, the child mutilation, the sterilization, the cheerful victimizing of vulnerable groups such as foster children who have no one who cares enough about them to claw them out of a Wiener-created nightmare, who have been treated like cheap cuts of meat to satisfy Wiener’s various mental illnesses, and no one and nothing able to stand in the way to put a stop it all, maybe we can be excused for being cynical about the effectiveness of this particular incident. But let’s hope we’re wrong and that this one will do the trick.

  4. Please sign and share Tish’s petition: https://c.org/kZ5vWfDCJC
I’m grateful for her courageous leadership on this issue. She went from not knowing about these horrible laws in California, to researching and working nonstop to bring public attention and pressure to stop this violation of the rights of women and girls in female-only spaces and sports.

  5. Please sign and share Tish’s petition: “Protect Women’s Only Spaces Nationwide: Privacy & Safety Legislation in 50 states” on change-dot-org.

    1. Sadly, those in the audience treated Tish poorly. Thank you Tish for putting yourself out there and speaking up. We greatly appreciate you!!!

  6. I live in Southern California, and even if he is not, that he is Scott Wiener, is not in my district I will actively campaign against his run for ANY office. His actions and push on such bills as he has made his name on, should have a petition request before he ever runs again to complete a psychological evaluation as his behavior more indicative of a pedophile than a grown man who respects personhood, adulthood and especially childhood. He acts like children should be his playground and that extends to women, essentially establishing himself as some sort of King.

  7. This is a prime example of why I say that the people who run this state aren’t just incompetent, they are down right evil. They push through anti-human laws like the ones described above which do nothing by leave misery and destruction in their wake.
