Chamath Palihapitiya: Now Discerns Trump’s First Term Policies Were ‘Great Work’
All-In Podcasters: ‘the Trump administration, because what those guys did, was pretty incredible’

“Chamath Palihapitiya thought very little of President Trump when he came into office. But as time passes, he realizes how wrong his outlook was,” reads a fascinating Twitter post by Reality Check whose Twitter handle is @XvirtueSignaler. “The ultra-successful businessman and early executive at Facebook shows how a true free thinker can adjust their opinions.”
Wow. What a refreshing turn of events.
“I think that when Trump was elected, I was told that it was the end of the world, and that’s what I thought. And I’d already underwritten him as an F, okay?” Palihapitiya said. “And then, four years into the presidency, he was probably like a C in my mind. And then, as I get a little bit of distance away, I realized, no, hold on a second. This guy was like a B, B-plus. Like, he was pretty good. But the further and further I get away from him and the less emotional I am, he did a pretty good job. He was a pretty good president.”
It takes intellectual curiosity to even consider reversing on an issue so polarizing to this country. And it takes intellectual honesty to delve deeper into the realm one is emotionally invested in.
The exchange took place on the entertaining, stimulating, funny and seriously interesting “All-In” Podcast. This interesting group of four “besties,” Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks and David Friedberg, is made up of tech investors, former Google, AOL, Paypal and Facebook executives, venture capitalists, angel investors, engineers, writers, a former Gubernatorial candidate, and even the “Queen of Quinoa.”
“This is a moment when you have to start to re-underwrite, is one’s ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ causing more damage than anything President Trump could have done? And I think the answer is yes,” Palihapitiya said.
Real Clear Politics reports:
Chamath Palihapitiya: “As a Democrat, who has been left homeless, who is now definitely in the center, but probably leaning increasingly right, I’m left yet again with an appreciation, despite the messenger of the message, of the Trump administration, because what those guys did, was pretty incredible, In hindsight. These Abraham Accords, the accords with Israel and the GCC, the almost accord between Israel and Saudi, to really be able to like find a long-lasting peace is just a real example for the world. And those guys did a lot of really great work.”
Jason Calacanis: “It’s a miracle when you look at it. Listen, I’m no fan of Trump, but if you objectively look at what they did, it was great work.”
Chamath Palihapitiya: “You have to, it was great work. This is a moment when you have to start to re-underwrite, is one’s ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ causing more damage than anything President Trump could have done? And I think the answer is yes, because it is now causing us to not see that good work, and then embrace and extend it. So much of the work that happened in that administration turned out to have been right, and that is what is so frustrating for me.”
The extraordinary praise the All-In-Podcasters had for Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who worked as a senior advisor to the President and brokered the Abraham Accords for peace between Israel and Palestine, was notable.
Chamath Palihapitiya: “But Jared Kushner is thoughtful. He’s smart. I was fed all these lies for years about how this guy was, like, moping around in the shadows and this and that, and it was all not true. David Sacks: “[Trump] was willing to meet with Kim Jong Un. He was willing to meet with Putin and Xi Jinping, and he avoided criticizing them personally. He didn’t call them dictators. He talked about how smart they are. It’s the art of the deal. Right. I mean, at the end of the day, he’s looking to do business, and we need a little bit more of that. And I think this is why Jared Kushner was successful. He went in there with the mindset of a businessman. How do we find something that’s beneficial to both sides?”

Thanks for this Katy Grimes! Have to admit that good news and news of conversion and awakening to what is actually valuable is always welcome, and especially now.
As we’ve said to friends and relatives : we didn’t vote for the guy to be our best friend or the Pope, and he tends to be a narcissistic blowhard, self-promoter, but his policies were helpful to the average American citizen, UNLIKE the current (p)Resident in the White House, who appears to be in the back pocket of the highest bidder…
However, 45’s lack of self-awareness regarding anything to do with C19 injectable products is deeply troubling for his 2024 campaign…
The nation is still paying the price for TDS. As one of the brightest right leaning independents in my memory he had to be stopped. Why? He put Joe and Mary Six pack front and center. No Trump Foundations laundering foreign money for Trump. It was all about increasing paychecks and lowering unemployment.
And we wonder why we have such awful leadership! The best and the brightest avoid public service because they don’t want to be destroyed by a rabid, unaccountable, corrupt media. Thus, we get the dirtiest pigs in the pen.
Joe Biden is the middle classes’ punishment, in spades.
Ditching the grip of emotionally over-wrought Gaia will do all of America a world of good.
His honesty and self-reflection is refreshing. A few days late and a few dollars short, but hope this starts a new trend of honesty in the political world.
Vivek Ramaswamy also nailed it explaining how very sick and tired Americans have finally become listening to Democrats egregious lying for far, far too long. We need a break from this massive Age of Disinformation – when Democrats demand we disbelieve our own eyes.
Chamath Palihapitiyah donated money to the recall effort it was in the five digit area. There was rumor he wanted to run for governor but shortly after he gave the money he vanished. I mean go figure. Personally, I wish he would have given a little more to the recall effort but thats just me.
The general public knows perfectly well that Trump was a good president and under his watch they were safer, had more money and the world was working on peace. The feckless media worked with the establishment and the progressives to demonize him and are still at it. Biden has made us poorer, less safe and set the world aflame with his appeasement policies. Our universities are infested with Marxist indoctrinating our kids turning them against all the ideas which made this country great. The lower schools seek to make everyone the same quashing anyone who tries to rise above the mediocracy using equity instead of equality in teaching. 7 million people walked over our border who have no ties to the US or understanding of what we represent to be supported by the taxpayers.
If the nation does not rise up and remove the people responsible for all this destruction next year our 250 year old democracy is finished.
Great story, Katy Grimes~!
What we NEED, is The California Globe’s version of that Amazing Dick Morris story which I saw on Newsmax, wherein, Morris detailed how joe biden has worked tirelessly to Destroy American Oil Drilling, such as to Force American Citizenry to Pay Iran 80 Billion Dollars, being Forced to Buy Iranian oil since biden came into power~!~!~! So, American truckers, & driving citizens have been Forced to “Fund” Iran’s Mass-Murder, and, to “Fund” Putin’s Mass-Murder of the Ukrainian People~!~! 80 Billion Dollars is about 12 Times more than the 6 Billion Dollars which the DC Swamp wants us to focus on~! The Iranian Mullahs have had nearly Three Full Years to supply & to teach HAMAS how to Mass-Murder the Israelis~!~!~! My former party, the Democrats, Love More War, More Rape, & More Murder~!~!
