Gavin Newsom Loses (Again) with Dan Goldman in New York City
This is a civil war and realignment within the Democrat Party

On Tuesday, as expected, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-Manhattan) lost to former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander in the Democrat Primary for the 10th New York Congressional District. This is the third consecutive loss of the New York and national Democrat establishment to “Democrat Socialists” Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
While Gov. Gavin Newsom lays low from the investigation into his and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, here is more bad news for Newsom, the Bay Area Cabal, Newsom’s political aspirations in 2028, and the future of the Democrat Party.
Although Goldman was born in Washington, D.C. and represents Manhattan, including Wall Street, he is associated with the Bay Area Cabal. Goldman is one of the richest Members of Congress and is an heir to Levi Strauss & Co. Levi Strauss is the maker of Levi jeans and namesake of Levi Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers. Goldman’s family includes Walter Haas, Rhoda Haas Goldman, and Richard Goldman, and their names are adorned on the Haas School of Business and the Goldman School of Public Policy at Berkeley. Sidwell Friends, Yale, Stanford Law; Goldman is the epitome of pedigree and the global elite that is trying to install Newsom as President. Goldman is one of the only non-Californians to publicly defend Newsom and his wife, who are currently under investigation by the Department of Justice.
Goldman’s loss – which is also Newsom’s loss – to Lander, Mamdani, and Ocasio-Cortez was expected. Polling consistently showed Goldman losing to Lander in a landslide. This followed Mamdani twice defeating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo – who is literally the Italian-American version of Newsom – and the Democrat establishment from the Clintons to Michael Bloomberg in 2025. Policies and positions aren’t important, and in a different era Newsom would be a “Democrat Socialist,” or whatever is required for power. This is a civil war and realignment within the Democrat Party.
While the U.S. has a two-party system, Democrat and Republican, the parties are coalitions of many factions such as age, race, sex, religion, class, profession, geography, with different agendas. The coalitions periodically realign over generations, such as when most blacks switched from Republican to Democrat or whites in the South started voting Republican. The U.S. is in its Sixth or Seventh Party System, with Republicans realigning with the rise of the Tea Party in 2010 and election of President Donald Trump in 2016. Democrats, starting with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi have tried to suppress it.
President Bill Clinton was the first and quintessential Boomer president. Forrest Gump (1994) was their life story. Born in 1946 after World War II, admired President John F. Kennedy, came of age during the Civil Rights Movement, protested against the Vietnam War, and became President at age 46 when he was elected in 1993. Although Newsom, born in 1967 and age 58 is Generation X, his base and benefactors are the Clintons. His support is highest among rich white liberal Boomers, the youngest of whom are now 61 years old. Clinton was a surrogate and campaigned for Newsom for Mayor in 2003 and Governor in 2009. The New Yorker reported that Newsom adopted Clinton’s mannerisms and at one point an “Arkansas twang.”
Clinton’s presidency also coincided with the apex of Jewish political power in the Democrat Party. The West Wing (1999-2006) was partially modeled after the Clinton Administration and had the most Jews of any presidency. Both the late-Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a mentor to Newsom, and former-Sen. Barbara Boxer were elected to the Senate in 1992 and are Jewish and pro-Israel. Since the early 20th Century, Jews have been an important faction and donor base of the Democrat Party.
Last year, former Clinton campaign consultant Douglas Schoen, who is also Jewish, positively suggested in the Orange County Register that Newsom was “Bill Clinton 2.0.” The problem for Newsom is that the Clinton faction, which includes Jewish Democrats such as Bloomberg, Goldman, fellow New York Rep. Jerry Nadler and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have been losing power since the 2000s. They’re not in charge anymore.
In October 2025, Newsom was caught off guard on the Higher Learning podcast when challenged about AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks characterized Newsom’s response as “malfunctioning” and “idiotic” as he struggled to not repudiate his political existence. In December 2025, Newsom on the Jack Cocchiarella Show clarified that technically he has never taken money from AIPAC, ignoring that AIPAC only targets Senate and House races, before Newsom awkwardly tried to preempt a past donation in 2003. Newsom struggles to articulate any position on Israel (or Palestine) because for him it is a lose-lose situation, and the only thing he actually values is power.
Rep. Dan Goldman’s loss in New York City isn’t sudden or surprising. The future of the Democrat Party belongs to Millennials Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Unfortunately in addition to socialism and communism, that future also includes violent anti-semitism, such as the attempted assasination of Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family on the first night of Passover. As for Gov. Gavin Newsom, born too early or too late, the New York Primary is another indicator Newsom missed “his turn,” won’t win the Democrat Primary in 2028, and will never be President of the United States – Newsom is being “left behind.”
