California Governor Gavin Newsom has not had a good week.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Issues Smackdown for Gov. Gavin Newsom: National Guard Stays in LA, the Globe reported. “A three Judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit issued an unanimous order is a stunning victory for President Donald J. Trump who deployed 4,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles, to protect federal buildings, as well as immigration agents during the recent Los Angeles riots.
Newsom Gas Tax: Californians are facing a 65 cent gas tax increase July 1st – everyone in California will be paying more than $5.00 for a gallon of regular gas. And that’s just on the way to an eventual $8.63 per gallon, the Globe reported.
Sanctuary State California is About to Get a Comeuppance: The United States Department of Transportation announced it may not fund sanctuary cities for the damage done by rioters. Ouch.
And now Chris Rufo reports at City Journal that “Gavin Newsom Sipped Cabernet While Los Angeles Burned. The California governor attended a luxury wine-tasting during the recent riots.”
As riots engulfed Los Angeles and mobs vandalized public buildings, incinerated vehicles, and assaulted law enforcement officers, California governor Gavin Newsom was enjoying a swanky wine-tasting party in Napa Valley.
The wine-tasting was held on the afternoon of June 7, 2025, at the Odette Estate Winery, which Newsom co-founded in 2011. Dubbed “Vineyard Vibes,” the event was a fundraiser for the PlumpJack Foundation, founded by Newsom’s sister, and featured “contemporary yet sophisticated” wines, live jazz music, and locally made pizza and smash burgers. “It’s the perfect kick-off to summer fun,” read promotional language. “The fete will take place on the Winery Crushpad, where we’ll gather for music, food, conversation, and delicious wine!”
Ouch. Another French Laundry moment for the effete, elitist Gavin.
If that wasn’t enough, “California Gov. Gavin Newsom calls wife ‘first partner,’ gets dragged online, including by Riley Gaines,” the New York Post reports.
“Happy Birthday to the First Partner of California, the outstanding mother of our four incredible children, and the love of my life,” Newsom wrote to mark his wife’s 51st birthday on Thursday.
The backlash was swift with women’s rights activist Riley Gaines leading the charge, tweeting: “I can’t even fathom my husband unironically calling me his partner????”
Please, send me to the vomitorium.
The Globe has laughed at the Newsom’s “First Partner” moniker since 2019 when “they” (the partners) were sworn in as gubernatorial partners.
Is Jen the “first partner” of their children? Wait! Gavin said, “the outstanding mother of our four incredible children…” Is Jen a “woman” rather than a”First Partner?” Or is she a “birthing person” of four children?

But the First Partner insists that her title means she and Gavin Newsom are “partner” with all Californians.

In a legal partnership, when one partner runs the entity into the ground and leaves it bankrupt, all partners suffer.
While Gov. Newsom attempts to deflect from his lifelong record of failure with podcasts and substacks and photo ops, he and the Mrs. Partner will continue to live the life of the effete and elite… as long as their next grift pays for all of it.

Of course, King Newsom was gorging himself and guzzling wine at a swank wine tasting event while the riots were happening in LA. He doesn’t have a care in the world about those “peasant folk”. He’s a Marin County mansion owner. Besides his government paid those peasants to riot.
While he ordered everyone to be masked up, King Newsom was at the Superbowl in Los Angeles with royalty in a upper level luxury suite completely unmasked. “Rules for thee not for me.” That’s his slogan.
Katy Grimes’ smackdown really hit the spot. So fun and delicious as we continue to endure Gov Gruesome (and First Partner Gruesome) and so glad to hear about the Gov’s “Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” May the Gavin smackdowns and extremely ill-timed and embarrassingly elitist exposures continue! No one deserves them more!
Tried to watch the hard-to-take First Partner but had to stop at 2:15 because I find her incomprehensible gibberish extremely annoying. She and Newsom are a matched set for sure. Either that or she started out normal(?) once upon a time but has been hanging around the Word Salad King w-a-a-a-y too much.
Newsom thwarted a recall, was reelected and apparently his popularity induced the abandonment of a second recall effort.
He’s a brilliant operative integrated into a comprehensive political machine chartered with the destruction of California and America.
Do something substantive to stop Newsom and his cohort’s or suck it up and shut up.

I disagree that Newsom is a popular, brilliant and incredible political operative.
The thing he has going for him is the willingness to be used by the global elitists that control so much of the marxist narrative. Kinda like bumbling, stumbling, brain dead Biden, or word salad, giggling Kamala. No brilliance needed. Just a well oiled, money machine backed by the likes of the Gettys and Soros of the world.
Newsom will say and do anything to climb that political ladder. He has the local MSM in California to prop him up. He also has a Democrat supermajority to keep him in his current position. Newsom is just the face of a bigger machine.
And no Trump did not go running with his tail between his legs!
ICE is still here doing the job they are hired to do. The 9th circuit sided with President Trump and he has the constitutional executive authority to have the National Guard in Los Angeles.
As long as we have ballot harvesting, no i.d. requirement to vote and machine voting tabulators idiots like Newsom will be elected. The latest PPIC poll has Newsom at a 44% favorable rating. Popular? I think not. Only in the leftist progressive circles he might be “popular”.
We can all agree that he is part of a machine to destroy this once great, beautiful state.

The California press is the problem, totally captured by the Democrats. People know the State is badly run, but the Sacramento Bee, LA Times, and SF Chronicle hate President Trump and rally behind Newsom and even Bass, as they attack him. No one wants to stop the grift- not the unions, not the teachers, not the state contractors pretending to build the bulletin train, not the homeless providers, not advocates for illegals, and not the NGOs funded by the taxpayers. We need DOJ intervention, a vibrant campaign for Governor, and another taxpayer revolt.
