CA Senate LGBTQ Recognition Ceremony Honored Drag Nun, Trans People
The ceremony quickly devolved into LGBTQ sufferer month

The California Senate held a LGBTQ recognition ceremony Monday. One of the most notorious honorees was Sister Roma from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence group, recently embroiled in controversy with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers invited The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to receive an award in an on-field ceremony at Pride Night. When that did not sit well with many – especially Catholics – the Dodgers disinvited the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, but then reinvited them, resulting in the pro-baseball team earning the title, “Bud Light of Baseball,” the Globe reported.
The Democrats in the Senate said this event was in honor of LGBTQ month, coordinated with Senate Resolution 33 by Sen. Susan Eggman (D-Stockton), proclaiming June 2023 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month.

But rather than sticking to celebrating the accomplishments of the honorees, Senators offered floor speeches devolving the ceremony into LGBTQ sufferer month. Many Democrat Senators claimed that the LGBTQ community is unsafe, has no freedoms, live in danger, are victims, and are harmed… because of right wing extremists.
Sen. Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) said right wing extremists are “trying to undo LGBTQ rights.”
Sen. Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park) said “rising homophobia and transphobia coincides with antisemitism and white supremacy.” That was a head-scratcher.
Sen. Lena Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) claimed parents at her daughter’s elementary school who protested “Trans Day of Visibility” were bigoted, and that a trans friend told her “You have no idea what it is like to have your rights stripped away.” What rights? Sen. Gonzalez did not elaborate.
Senator John Laird (D-Santa Cruz) talked forever about the PRIDE Parade in Santa Cruz Sunday, and how “it was a proud day because we had PRIDE.” He called himself a “trailblazer” for being brave for participating in PRIDE parades for 43 years.
Sen. Aisha Wahab (D-Hayward) said gay and trans people are a part of everyone’s community, and the community must speak up (on their behalf). “If not, you have the Pulse nightclub.”
Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) again blamed “right wing extremists” and “bigoted extremists” for tearing down Target displays [over the girls bathing suits for trans kids with a “tuck-friendly” pouch for male genitalia]. Yes, those parents who now refuse to shop at Target are real extremists.
Sen. Wiener said the “political attacks actually harm the lives of real human beings. Real people are harmed because of executive orders.”
“These are families just trying to raise their kids,” he said, and spoke of “the violence that always flows from this hateful rhetoric.”
The Globe has had this conversation with gay friends and colleagues who say they don’t participate in the LGBTQ activism, and really are “families just trying to raise our kids.” Many bristle at how politicized the left (and media) has made of being gay, and are equally frustrated with the trans community being conflated with LGBTQ – most say transgender persons are a whole different community.
Toward the end of the ceremony, Sen. Eggman help up a pink triangle with the message “Resist and Persist” on it, and said every Senator received one at their desks. She said the pink triangle represents the LGBTQ people killed during the Holocaust. She did not address that LGBTQ people are still killed by certain cultures. According to Human Dignity Trust, “12 countries have jurisdictions in which the death penalty is imposed or at least a possibility for private, consensual same-sex sexual activity. At least 6 of these implement the death penalty – Iran, Northern Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen – and the death penalty is a legal possibility in Afghanistan, Brunei, Mauritania, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE.”
Senate Resolution 33 was passed 31-0, with Republicans not voting, except for Sen. Rosalicie Ochoa-Bogh, who supported the resolution.

The 31 senators who voted for Senate Resolution 33 are just as weird as those perverts they invited into the Senate Chamber. This $hi+ has to stop.
You’d think that Democrat Sen. Susan Eggman would be more concerned about the out of control crime, poverty and homelessness that exists in Stockton instead of making meaningless proclamations? Do the majority of her constituents who are overwhelmingly Hispanic want her to focus on the sexual proclivities of a small group instead of addressing the many pressing problems that Stockton has? Probably not?
Her district is generally more conservative and it’s suspicious as to how she got elected there. California Globe should have included a photo of Sen. Eggman. She looks like a rough radicalized member of the alphabet mafia with her short clipped butch haircut.

They certainly waste a lot of electricity in the Senate chambers in the middle of the day, don’t they? I guess it’s no big deal when you’re not the one paying the bill.

I guess it is true. I was offended when I was told years ago It’s OK to attack Catholics. They aren’t really citizens.
Those senate Democrats would never think of insulting Islam or other religions like they did by inviting that group of men dressed like nuns who mocked and attacked Catholics and Christians. Senate Democrats are part of a evil satanic cult.
Obviously this is meant to be the West Coast version of some kind of menacing nationwide intimidation tactic but unfortunately for them the result is nothing but a ridiculous clown show that only makes Californians think that if this silliness is what the very disturbed Scott Wiener and the state senate think is appropriate to heard or in any way attended to on the floor of CA legislature, then we don’t need a CA legislature. If Scott Wiener and his pathetic band of exhibitionists haven’t figured out by now that we are totally sick and tired of their games as well as their claims of “victimhood” that always fall flat because they are preposterous LIES, then they need to go the way of all the other irrelevant ideas and agenda items that have fallen out of fashion.

As a gay man, I have complex feelings. I appreciate Katy and the Globe pointing out there are many many gay people who don’t identify with so-called gay activists and who just want to be respected and left alone. At the same time, I can’t forget history when gay people were put in prison, given electroshock, chemically castrated, etc., so it’s important to organize communities to defend basic civil rights. I also don’t mind the sisters – its kind of fun, and I know Sister Roma personally – she has done a great deal of fundraising. Should this be a role model for children? No, not really – but all the “pearl clutching” strikes me as self-serving. And gay issues are very different than transgender issues especially in respect to the pseudoscience of psychiatry. So, can’t we all just sit back and recognize we are human and have our faults?
As an elderly homosexual man, I don’t remember anyone that I know ever being put in prison, given electroshock, chemically castrated, etc. for being homosexual or lesbian. It may have happened but it was not widespread like the alphabet mafia are now trying to claim. I’m also not a fan of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence drag queens who obnoxiously mock Catholics and their religious traditions. They don’t deserve to be given an award by Democrats in the legislature for their antics. I would never donate to any fund raising that they do because I don’t trust them and I’m doubtful as to where the money will end up. I really believe that life for most of us homosexuals was better off when our sexual orientation wasn’t even acknowledged by the rest of society and we just quietly lived our lives. Radicalized alphabet mafia activists from the left who falsely think they represent all of us are only creating division and resentment towards us by forcing their agenda on to the rest of society.
