CA Dems Further Erode Parental Rights With Children’s Mental Health Bill
California Democrats are medically and legally emancipating children from parents ā āwhether you like it or notā

Democrats in California are now in the business of creating a crisis, then providing perverted and distorted “solutions” in legislation designed to appear to help. However, there are very few things government does well, and California government leads the pack of incompetent governments.
A new bill, Assembly Bill 665Ā by Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) would allow children as young as 12 years to consent to mental health treatment or counseling without parental approval or involvement.
“California is failing on childrenās mental health and preventive care,” Ms. Carrillo’s bill states.
She got that right, but not for the reasons she stated in the bill. “California” choked off and even destroyed the lives of millions of children when Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered every school in the state closed during Covid. Other states remained open while California’s kids were relegated to home confinement, attending online school from the family kitchen table – away from friends, teachers, sports, clubs, dances, recess, parks and social activities.
Children not only lost an entire year of learning recent studies have found, their social development and wellbeing was stunted. Many plummeted into deep depressions. Some are still suffering.
As the Globe reported Tuesday, “California and other states that imposed more severe regimens ādidnāt gain anything.ā”
Assembly Bill 665 appears to be an offshoot of Sen. Scott Wiener’s SB 866 from last year, which was an offshoot of another family-destroying bill authorizing children to seek medical care without parental oversight and approval.
In California it is already law to allow a minor who is 12 years of age to consent to mental health treatment or counseling on an outpatient basis, or to residential shelter services, “if the minor is mature enough to participate intelligently in the outpatient services or residential shelter services, or if the minor is the alleged victim of incest or child abuse.”
That law, Senate BillĀ 543 was authored by then-Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) in 2010, and sponsored by Equality California, the National Association of Social Workers California Chapter, Mental Health America of Northern California, and the Gay Straight Alliance Network. SB 543, ostensibly to help LGBT andĀ homeless youth, was signed into law in 2010 by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Carrillo’s bill will remove the additional requirement that the child must present a danger of serious physical or mental harm to themselves or to others, or be the alleged victim of incest or child abuse –Ā in order to consent to mental health treatment or counseling on an outpatient basis, or to residential shelter services.
The bill will also require whoever is treating the child to hold a consultation with the child ahead of treatment to determine whether or not to include the child’s parents.
The bulk of the “mental health treatment or counseling services” in the bill are with government agencies.
The “professional person” providing the treatment means “a marriage and family therapist, a licensed educational psychologist, a credentialed school psychologist, a clinical psychologist, or the chief administrator of an agency.”
Your 12-year old can also seek to move into a residential shelter:Ā “Residential shelter services” means: “The provision of residential and other support services to minors on a temporary or emergency basis in a facility that services only minors by a governmental agency, a person or agency having a contract with a governmental agency to provide these services, an agency that receives funding from community funds, or a licensed community care facility or crisis resolution center.”
Does this mean a 12-year old can move into a group home which has a contract with a governmental agency, or into a “crisis resolution center” when you the parent doesn’t even know there is a crisis?

Last June, the Globe reported on Senate Bill 866 by Senators Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Richard Pan (D-Sacramento),Ā to allow children as young as age 12 to take the COVID-19 vaccine without parental consent.
“I introduced new legislation (#SB866) to lower the vaccine age of consent from 18 to 12,” Sen. Wiener posted on his Twitter page. “Unvaccinated teens are at risk, put others at risk & make schools less safe. They often canāt work, participate in sports, or go to friendsā homes. Letās let teens protect their health.”
“Students have never been a major vector” [for COVID] Dr. Peter McCullough told the Globe in an interview in 2022. “There were no school outbreaks even in the first year,” he said. “And even in the pandemic and second year, there have been no major outbreaks.”
Wiener also notes on his Twitter page, “California law already allows 12-17 year olds to access various forms of healthcare without parental consent, eg: HPV & hep B vaccines, abortion care, birth control, mental healthcare, domestic violence-related care. SB 866 builds on this existing law to expand vaccine access.”

Senator Wiener is an attorney, and not a doctor, nor is he a parent. But he sends his “huge thanks to all the teens in California & across the country who are fighting every day to expand vaccine access & make positive change. Iām in awe of your tenacity & determination.”
The State SenateĀ passed Wiener’s bill, but he could not get the votes in the Assembly and had to pull it before the end of session. Expect him to bring it back this year, even though Covid isn’t prominent any longer. Because his bill wasn’t really about being safe from Covid, any more than Wendy Carrillo’s bill is about teen mental health.
California parents are systematically being replaced by school counselors, teachers, mental health providers, abortion providers, “gender-affirming” trans care specialists, or any number of adults willing to give vaccines, feed kids drugs, provide opposite-sex hormones, authorize gender surgeries, and get them treatment for sexual violence and rape – without a parent being any the wiser.

As most of us who frequent this forum know, Marxist Democrats want to weaken/remove the influence of the nuclear family; which they believe benefits the rich in allowing them to retain their private property and passing it on to future generations. Thus, in their view, the rich-poor class structure is perpetuated by Capitalism and is deterministic. This goes back to a theory put forth by Friedrich Engels:

Soon there will be a bill introduced AB 666.
It will demand all parents give up their baby to the state 24 hours after birth. In order to protect the children from the love, warmth and morals their parents can provide. The state will forbid a gender to be assigned. The child will be given 100 injections in the first year of life and 50 booster shots until the child becomes a legal adult upon turning 12 years old. As an adult they will be given a state sponsored studio apartment and will be required to wear a tracker chip implant for their own āsafety and well beingā. They will be delivered a daily ration of bug burgers. If the child lives a full adult life they will be assigned an exit date so that they do not add to the growing carbon foot print.
Why you ask?
For the greater good of society of course!

You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to have figured out by now that the Sen Scott Wieners and other like-minded malevolent players like Asm Wendy Carrillo in our own state legislature —- as well as our governor —- are ALWAYS, and without exception, up to no good.
As has been pointed out, the politicians and others in govt power positions are directly responsible for whatever mental health problems (and other health problems), drug problems, self-harm or even suicides, that many, many, many, far too many, young people have UNNECESSARILY experienced over these last few years. These vulnerable young people were outright ABUSED by state “Covid” policies and restrictions, so we have it on record that those in govt authority and public employee unions, etc., are not in the least interested in children’s welfare. Now they want to offer “mental health counseling” to young people under cover of darkness and secrecy? With NO interested person allowed to stand in the way of further harm?
Absolutely not, parents, and non-parents, too —– DO NOT —- DO NOT —- allow this further abuse to happen. Remember the only goals of the cruel, mixed-up people who are pushing this crap is to further brainwash and weaken already vulnerable children for the bad guys’ own purposes, and it’s too early in the morning to speculate about all of what their “purposes” might be, not to mention bonus points for finishing off the destruction of the family.
What’s more, it’s not as though the bar to be a “mental health counselor” is a high one in the first place. CA politicians and non-profits and others have been pushing for years that “lived experience” —- I think they are also called “peer counselors” —- are all that should be required to obtain “therapist” credentials and licensing. This has quite often resulted, both in “therapist” settings and in “drug rehab” settings, in further harm being done to those who are mentally ill or drug addicted. The OC Register did a series some time ago, I’ll have to go find it, about rehab centers popping up like mushrooms when govt funding was provided as well as state laws passed for insurance companies to extend funding for mental health and addiction issues. I think Usual Suspect Scott Wiener was behind a lot of it. As I recall the OC Register found that many of the rehab counselors were still addicts or traded drugs for sexual favors from their “patients.” How is THAT for a betrayal? OR the patient was “treated” until the insurance money or other funding was used up, at which point those who had been enticed to have drug rehab by the sea were kicked out onto the street to become homeless, more drug-addicted, and more mentally ill to boot. Before the era of AB 109 and Prop 47’s almost-exclusive contribution to the homeless/vagrant mess, this kicking out of patients from rehab was thought to be one of the major reasons we were seeing an exponential increase in homeless/vagrancy. Those seeking rehab were being enticed to come to California from all over the country, you see.

My daughter is a counselor at a middle school and I can assure you that the bar is much higher than you think. She has her Masters’ in psychology and has spent ten’s of thousands of dollars to attain this level of education all because she wanted to make a difference in kids’ lives. I’m with you that these bills are a horrible influence of parenting and the politicians need to be help accountable for their despicable actions.
I appreciate that your daughter worked hard and spent time, money, and energy to achieve her position as a counselor and that she is likely a fine person whose only goal has been to help kids and make a difference in their lives. Congratulations to her and to you for this. My own husband is such a person, who many years ago went to law school at night while holding down a full-time job, sweated to pass the State Bar, was eventually hired as a city prosecutor, and spent decades as a dedicated and valuable asset to his chosen profession.
My emphasis was meant to apply to our current crop of Dem politicians whose desired agenda I know ā from their own documented statements and from my own personal observations ā has been to profoundly “dumb-down” professional standards and hire armies of āmental health workersā or fund so-called ānon-profits” to be used at the state and local govt levels in response to legislation such as what has been proposed above. Whether the goal is to further indoctrinate vulnerable pre-teen children, or to create more public employee union members to strengthen those unionsā power, or to further weaken the family unit, or all of the above, I can only guess.
