Gov. Newsom Infringes, then Threatens Temecula School Board

The state is trying to limit the authority and autonomy of school boards while pushing sexualized garbage on your kids

By Katy Grimes, July 20, 2023 7:45 am

Tuesday, the Temecula Valley Unified School District board again voted 3-2 to reject California’s elementary school social studies curriculum. Wednesday, Governor Gavin Newsom announced he is sending  textbooks “to ensure students in the district begin the school year with access to up-to-date books and materials that comply with state law.”

And the governor threatened the board: “After we deliver the textbooks into the hands of students and their parents, the state will deliver the bill — along with a $1.5 million fine — to the school board for its decision to willfully violate the law, subvert the will of parents, and force children to use an out-of-print textbook from 17 years ago.”

The elementary school curriculum the Temecula board rejected includes lessons on Harvey Milk, who had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy who later committed suicide as an adult. The left has glamorized Milk as the first openly gay politician to be elected in the United States, but he was credibly revealed as a pedophile by San Francisco Chronicle reporter Randy Shilts in his 1982 book “The Mayor of Castro Street,” as Steve Aunan reported in June at the Globe. “Milk was murdered in 1978, but that had nothing to do with his gayness, and his gayness also has nothing to do with the current school curriculum kerfuffle. But you wouldn’t know that from the Censorship Industrial Complex, which has joined Newsom by punching down on Armenian and Muslim parents in addition to their usual Christian targets.”

“The three political activists on the school board have yet again proven they are more interested in breaking the law than doing their jobs of educating students — so the state will do their job for them,” said Governor Newsom.

Last week, Temecula School Trustee Jen Wiersma published an op ed with the Globe explaining her position and why the board made the curriculum decision:

“While evaluating our recent K-5 social studies pilot, my colleague and I noted the lack of parental and citizen involvement required by the Education Code section 51100, ‘Specifically, involving parents and guardians of pupils in the education process is fundamental to a healthy system of public education.’ We initially paused the decision to adopt the curriculum because the district bypassed the requirement to “promote the involvement of parents and the other members of the community in the selection of instructional materials.” Sec. 60002. The curriculum committee was comprised of 47 teachers and zero parents.”

Gov. Newsom claims: “During the last academic year, the curriculum was piloted by nearly 1,300 families in Temecula classrooms and was recommended by teachers representing every elementary school in the district and overwhelmingly supported by parents and community members.”

Wiersma continued:

“Our primary focus was to seek a robust, collaboratively chosen history curriculum, rich in civics and geography. During this process we were given cause for concern upon discovery of Harvey Milk’s biography in the proposed supplemental material for 4th grade. We learned this controversial historical figure was an adult who engaged in an intimate, long-term sexual relationship with a minor. This was reported by Randy Shilts, an award-winning gay reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, who covered Harvey’s activism and political career.

Wiersma said the Temecula school board “has both the right and responsibility to exercise authority and discretion when adopting materials that will be in circulation in the district for 7-10 years.”

“This is how every district in the state curates books. It is not ‘book banning’ as [Assemblyman Corey] Jackson’s bill lazily asserts. We are working diligently to provide the best educationally suitable materials for our community in our elementary school classrooms while adhering to Fair Act guidelines in the K-12 setting.”

Gov. Newsom posted on Twitter a “virtue-signaling outrage claiming that the state of California will overstep the school board and make those textbooks available to students,” J. Mitchell Sances reported at the Globe.

Newsom, who notes that he is the father of four and sends his kids to an exclusive private school in Sacramento, claimed in the Twitter video his concern is “access to information,” and “access to the latest social studies books that are being made available to hundreds of thousands of kids throughout the state of California, but are being denied to the kids of the Temecula District.”

As Sances notes, most of the Temecula Valley Unified School Board members were replaced in the election of November 2022. “Only one incumbent won re-election. The parents of Temecula Valley had their voices heard in that election. They trusted that these new board members would make the correct decisions when it comes to their children’s education.”

As the Globe has reported many times, the state K-12 curriculum has been so overtly sexualized  and now includes undisguised pornography, we cannot discuss the particulars on radio or television without violating FCC laws.

As the Globe reported July 5th, rather than acknowledging the pornographic K-12 textbooks are perverse, and that DEI and CRT is dangerous and divisive to children, state lawmakers are going after recently elected public school board members who ran on returning sanity and classical education to California’s public education system, including the Temecula School Board.

Assemblyman Corey Jackson (D-Perris) authored Assembly Bill 1078 ostensibly to make it harder to ban school textbooks in California – or at least that is how media is covering this bill. But in his own words, Assemblyman Jackson says “AB 1078 is a bill that intends to combat the national Christian white supremacist movement which aims to ban books, school curriculum, and even more in our schools.”

“This issue makes people uncomfortable, he continued. “A lot of it is due to the misunderstanding of the what people mean when they say ‘White Christian nationalist.’”

Assemblyman Jackson offered his definition in a recent committee hearing: “We are really talking about the radicalization of the Christian faith, to quite frankly, draw upon people’s angers, economic angst, people’s search for additional resources, and drawing upon people’s biases to really achieve, and use that anger, to achieve a political objective.”

Assemblyman Jackson is calling parents, teachers and school board members “Christian White Nationalists,” if they object to sexualized school curriculum, sexual school books, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion, as well as Critical Race Theory taught in their schools. But that is not all he is planning – Assemblyman Jackson’s bill will target locally elected school board members for not yielding to the state orders.

Gov. Newsom says, “Due to the board majority’s inaction, students in the district are forced to use a textbook published in 2006.”

Well, whose fault is that? Curriculum isn’t that difficult to keep updated… unless the goal is to secretly and covertly sexualize children, and normalize pornography while grooming 5-year olds with cartoon drawings of oral sex, masturbation, and how to use sex toys – all in library and school books in California’s K-12 schools.

The cat’s out of the bag and parents are done with this government sanctioned abuse of children. Gov. Newsom may seem genuinely passionate about the state’s curriculum, but remember, his kids attend private school and aren’t subjected to the sexualized garbage he’s pushing on your kids.

  1. There was none of this porn in school when I was a kid. If you were caught at school with a Playboy magazine you would get suspended. Sex education was taught at my high school but you had to have written permission from your parents to attend the class. The class was an hour long and featured a movie which had no nudity and no graphic sexual references. A one time class for just an hour. If I had school aged kids now they would not be attending public schools. My Mother was a public school teacher and a damn good one I might add, and she would be appalled at what is going on in the class rooms today. I commend Jen Wiersma for standing up to Governor Climate Change. Thank you Katy Grimes for keeping us informed on issues like this.

  2. Governor Newsolini once again demonstrates he is a tyrant. It is his way or no way.
To all parents reading, please protect your kids from this agenda. Hold the line and push back on this filth that has no educational value. They only want to indoctrinate the kids, normalize pedophilia. Why else would it be in elementary schools? They want to groom the children and steal their innocence.
Insist on a foundational basic education, math reading, writing and science. Round it out with P.E. and art . That is a full day of education.

  3. As Katy Grimes said, “The cat’s out of the bag and parents are done with this government sanctioned abuse of children.”
That’s for sure. So much of what Gavin Newsom says and does —- in his role as the Wicked Witch of the West, scary flying monkey-helpers and all —- to intimidate and threaten good CA citizens depends on an ignorance of what he is actually referring to. His self-righteous language about attempts to “ban books” and limit “freedom” is a trick, a ploy, as faithful Globe readers here well know. He apparently thinks most Californians are chumps. Good —- let him keep thinking that, shriveled-souled lightweight that he is. Meanwhile, a good-sized bucket of water is all that CA parents and other good citizens in the fight to protect children, public education and, by extension, California, actually need to melt down the Gruesome witch. Every decent person who cares about the future of California should realize the power they have over this nonsense if it is put to use.

    1. If nothing else, call and write your state reps insisting they Vote NO on the bill highlighted by Katy Grimes, AB 1078, one of the bills “poised for passage” on or about August 14 after legislators return from summer recess, as I understand it. Here is the current status of AB 1078:

  4. Gav’s ego will be his undoing.
Remember Gov. Moonbeam jumped in to the national spotlight and fell flat on his face!
Same will happen to this narcissist.

    1. I agree, tomorrow.
For one thing he has no idea what he lacks that others have; the ones he thinks are his enemies that he tries to squash. It’s the quality that allows others to see right through him. This puts him at a distinct disadvantage even with the political power he thinks he holds. He simply doesn’t know what that quality is or how to acquire it. If he did he would be a different person. So for his sake and ours I hope he does eventually find it.
      (Not holding my breath though)

  5. Does anyone really believe that Gov. Newsom is genuinely passionate about the state’s educational curriculum? Newsom and the Democrat cabal’s agenda is to sexualize children, normalize pornography and groom them? Newsom and his wife are part of a deep-state/dark-cult WEF globalist cabal and their kids are probably subjected to the same sexualized garbage that he’s pushing on public school kids–and maybe even worse? With parents like the Newsom’s, no doubt their kids have been traumatized and one or more of them will eventually come out as gay and/or trans?

    1. No kidding, TJ. Maybe we’ll live to see what you describe. If we even care at that point, right? 🙂
And even though I suspect your question was likely a rhetorical one —– NO, I doubt that few of us believe he is genuinely passionate about the state’s actual educational curriculum, whether it is a good and helpful one for CA’s children or the evil and destructive one he happens to be pushing now, apparently for what he thinks is his own “benefit.”

      1. It came out during Harvey Weinstein’s Los Angeles sex crimes trial that Jennifer Siebel Newsom had emailed Weinstein asking for his help with handling a sex scandal involving her husband. She had contacted Weinstein two years after she says the film producer raped her. With parents like the Newsom’s, how could their kids not be screwed up?

        1. TJ, I know there are some kids out there who escape/overcome the influence of wacky or bad parents and follow their own moral and common-sense compass. I sure hope this is true for the Newsom kids and they will go their own way. Of course I hoped this for the Clintons’ daughter too. Not sure that worked out so well.

  6. I am so glad my last kid graduated from high school. If I had an elementary school age kid I would seriously consider private school. Especially when you have a tyrant as governor.

  7. The actor Kevin Spacey had his career ended over an allegation much less serious than what Mr. Milk has been accused of. His death is tied to some very serious meddling by the CIA and other intelligence services in the San Francisco area during the post-WWII period – MKULTRA, drug smuggling, sexual abuse, psychological torture, etc. Temecula might want to create its own contextual study guide to go with the official state-mandated pablum.

If you accept the emperor’s coin, you are in his debt. School districts, take heed.

I would teach lessons about what so-called Cold Warriors were up to at the time in this state. We cover the Spanish Mission Era, but ignore the post-WWII psychological operation era. WTH.

  8. The Satanic Pedo-Mafia is headed straight for hell if they don’t repent of their evil really fast. Tik toc, tick toc.

  9. Interesting… Isn’t it? Governor hair gel speaks of Democracy, and freedom of speech out of one side of his mouth, then turns arounds and from the other side threatens the duly, and democratically elected Temecula school board members with heavy fines, and other coercive measures if they don’t comply with his authoritarian dictates. Sounds like a wonderful democratic candidate for president. He is one pathetic sorry excuse of a human being. We can only hope that God broke the mold after he was born, because we certainly don’t need any more of his kind…

  10. Great story on the attack Gov Newsom has made on school children. I wonder if there is a monetary incentive for Newsom to push these books on California schools. What is the name of these social studies books, author, and publisher? Is Newsom getting kickbacks?

Newsom like Canada’s Trudeau is not liked by their citizens due to their tyrannical ways but are still in office, very peculiar for such disdained politicians to be in these positions.

  11. Be proud to be a Christian White Nationalist whatever your religion or race. The history of the state since 2006 is not worth studying. Keep the old books. The older the better. Erase the upside down culture dictates of the present dictatorship and return to freedom. Newsome and his minions need to be resisted on every level.

  12. I’ll bet he can’t wait to have his own personal Department of Dual Justice, and it’s Federal Bureau of Investigative Thugs to “fix” the remaining people in the country who who just won’t toe the party line.

  13. Oh my! The Temecula School District is using an “out-of-date” textbook?!?! McGuffey’s Readers are out-of-date but far superior to the excrement this man wants to force on the district. They teach character as well as language. Homosexuality is a highly exhibitionist and and sex-charged disorder. It is all about satisfying animal urges through perverse and unnatural practices. Hence the pornographic nature of the textbooks that the Sodomy State is pushing. We’ve elected a governor beholding to his tiny sodomite constituency, while attempting to disenfranchise the majority. Note to editor: Do you have to post those large pics of this man? I almost hurled my brunch.

  14. So he’s engaging in intimidation? Sounds like RICO. And Ca Globe, can you please deal with that ridiculous Recaptcha issue?

  15. The now so obvious puppet #13,333- Newsom- keeps cornering himself by being such an obedient servant to the aging criminals he serves- just like Justin Trudeau. How much longer can the puppets endure? Is it really worth the money or to hide the blackmail of whatever they have on these (poor/enslaved) people?
