California breeds disastrous and dangerous Democrat politicians. Here is a current short list:

Congratulations Democrats. You made the list of California’s Disastrous and Dangerous Democrat Politicians. If you didn’t make the list, but are a Democrat and hold elected office in California, you’re just not notoriously awful enough ….yet.
Most of these Democrats, in a politically well-balanced state, couldn’t get elected as a City Cemetery Trustee or Mosquito Control District board member. A majority of them have failed up in California’s one-party state where excellence, brilliance, expertise, virtue and common sense are shunned, not required, for the job of governing, lawmaking, and diplomacy.
Democrats get elected as card-carrying, water-carrying, useful idiots for special interest groups: labor unions, environmental justice trial lawyers, the national Democrat Party, and a myriad of other activist organizations. Many of them cut their teeth as community organizers–the fake, grifting profession made infamous by Barack Obama.
Most recently on California’s Disastrous and Dangerous Democrat Politicians radar is former Rep. Katie Porter who had a viral media meltdown this week, giving American’s a peek into what’s wrong with California’s Democrat supermajority and one-party rule. California may have been spared a Porter gubernatorial administration, courtesy of Porter’s own temperament.
Yet, her disastrous interview pales in comparison to Governor Gavin Newsom’s disastrous “leadership.”
Newsom has proven to be incompetent, arrogant, unscrupulous, obnoxious, and thinks Americans should look past his personal deficiencies and professional failures as he campaigns to be the leader of the free world. Porter boasts she is a leader and deserves to be governor of California; Newsom is an entitled, life-long bureaucrat who believes he deserves to be President of the United States.
Is their hubris infused into California’s water?
For years we have exposed that Governor Newsom has the same problem as Katie Porter – he has never been put through the media wringer in a political race, nor has he ever run in a tight political race.
Newsom’s political career has been relatively “a given” in one-party California, and with California’s leftist media running cover – especially with articles like Gavin Newsom’s moment of Zen by Politico, which fawns over Newsom’s “more philosophical and spiritual tone in recent public comments.”
Gavin Newsom, the candidate and elected official, has had plenty of run-ins with media, primarily over his own detestable behavior and personal life choices.
Newsom has also been a part of California’s own “deep state.”
After eight excruciating years as Lt. Gov. under Governor Jerry Brown, Newsom was finally elected as California’s governor in 2018 with 61.9% of the vote. In 2021, there was a serious attempt to recall Newsom, yet he magically retained his position with 61.9% of the vote.
As Lloyd Billingsley observed, “For ‘coincidence theorists’ it was pure happenstance, with no hint of fraud. And nobody checked to see how many votes came from illegals registered by the DMV, who were also recipients of government benefits. In California, those benefits are quite extensive. Senate Bill 54, the state’s sanctuary law, protects the imported electorate from deportation. Democrats have also given government jobs to illegals.”
Newsom was then re-elected in 2022, with 59.2% of the vote.
When the Covid flu was labeled a “pandemic” in 2020, Newsom was the first U.S. governor to lock down his state of 40 million residents and ordered home confinement. He imposed mandatory masking and ridiculous social distancing. He closed schools and “non-essential businesses.” (We think all businesses are essential).
But wait, there’s more!
The governor and his Democrat lackeys managed to squander a one-year budget surplus of $98 billion. Before the squander, Newsom chest thumped and patted himself on the back, claiming his brilliant surplus was “simply without precedent,” and “No other state in American history has ever experienced a surplus as large as this.”
Just a year later, Newsom was forced to announce that California was $32 billion in the red.
As the Hoover Institute reported, “California’s budget went from an assumed $98 billion surplus, in which there was so much cash in state coffers that Gov. Gavin Newsom was giving away $50,000 to randomly selected individuals to get a COVID-19 vaccine, to a projected $73 billion deficit in only about two years.”
According to the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO), California is projected to face budget deficits ranging from $10 billion to $20 billion annually through 2028-29, My bet is it will be significantly higher than that – unless a Republican governor is elected and can clean the state house.
As we recently reported, Gov. Newsom “gifted free Medi-Cal coverage to every illegal immigrant in the state, costing taxpayers $23 billion over two years, forcing Newsom to get both an emergency loan and a bailout.”
We also can’t forget Newsom’s scandalous no-bid, $1 billion purchase of useless “pandemic” masks from BYD, a Chinese electric bus manufacturer.
Or, Newsom’s EDD scandal during Covid. The EDD sent millions in unemployment benefits to prisoners and inmates, resulting in one of the largest cases of fraud in EDD history. It was calculated that the fraud cost the state $400 million in total, on top of $2 billion in other forms of EDD fraud.
Fast forward a few years to the $100 million raised during the FireAid benefit concerts held in January 2025 which was not disbursed to the Pacific Palisades fire victims, as promised. Instead, the funds were given to dubious non-profits, including the California Native Vote Project and to California Service Corps– both are run out of Governor Newsom’s office.
This is just a smattering of Newsom’s record. Regular readers of the Globe can cite nearly a decades’ worth of Newsom’s scandals, political peccadilloes, and his equally disastrous political sidekicks.
Enter Karen Bass, the notorious Mayor of Los Angeles, former Fidel Castro comrade, former member of Congress, and former California Assembly Speaker. Bass was somewhat memorable in her previous rolls, but she has now achieved national attention for her horrific bungling of the fires and recovery in the Pacific Palisades, Altadena and Malibu last January. Nine months later, very little rebuilding, if any, is taking place. Bass was in Ghana, West Africa when the fires broke out, despite being warned that firestorms were predicted.
Notably last year, Bass led the charge to slash the budget of the Los Angeles Fire Department by $23 million, but cut only $17.5 million. Whew.
Victoria Taft at PJ Media points out a few key details:
…there are even more questions for the Los Angeles firefighters who failed to keep watch on that known smoldering fire. Worse yet, it was deemed unconscionable that no firefighting equipment was pre-deployed before the predicted firestorms.
Those are questions for Karen Bass, her DEI hires at the LAFD, and at the Department of Water and Power, who knew of the crucial fire warnings and failed to pre-deploy firefighters or fill the reservoir near Palisades. As a result, the fire hydrants went dry from the lack of water pressure.
Worse, Gavin Newsom has some questions to answer. An attorney for several homeowners in the Palisades noted that the land identified as the ignition point was state-owned land that was not cut back or watched by pre-deployed firefighters before this predicted firestorm.
Many crucial first responders are still working during the #SchumerShutDown, but many Democrats are spending their days making silly TikTok videos to make it look like they’re doing something. Who can possibly afford this lazy bunch of do-nothing louts?
Bass and Newsom make Katie Porter look like a bush leaguer with their extensive list of failures and scandals. Unfortunately, there’s a lot more failures and scandals to expect from the one-party beholden state of California.

This is a good summary of the Democratic politicians in this state. They are STUPID and LAZY. It doesn’t take any brains to run a state or city into the ground. They don’t work either. They are gallivanting around the world rather than working.

Flying under the radar and forgotten: shady Xavier Becerra of congressional Democrat IT scandal fame and losing 300,000 trafficked children while he was HHS Secretary under Biden and Harris. Now he is running for governor. Huffman is really bad, he just got rid of 12 historical family farms in Point Reyes (organic dairies with pasture raised cows) working with Nature Conservancy to do so. California being hostile to farmers and ranchers, I know of at least one moving out of state to continue the family organic dairy. Food, jobs and revenue lost for California. Huffman doesn’t care.

It’s like the people described in the article have no real adult experience in real world life. It seems the majority of them have done nothing more than have gone to school, have only been employed in government or politics and everything is a political theory to which they have a religious like faith and devotion to. No such thing as working in the physical trades or running a small business. As they think they have all the iron clad answers to everything, you can’t have a reasoned discussion with them.
