Arizona Dems Urge County Clerks to Defy Federal Subpoenas: ‘Decline Any Such Illegal Demands’ in Voter Data Fight
In a letter, AG Kris Mayes and SOS Adrian Fontes warned that election officials who improperly release protected voter information could face criminal consequences

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes have sent letters to county recorders urging them not to comply with federal requests for voter data tied to new investigations into the 2020 election.
The letters were sent as federal authorities, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, pursue probes related to the 2020 presidential election in Arizona.
In the joint correspondence to county officials, Mayes and Fontes warned that providing certain voter information to federal investigators could violate state and federal law.
They urged county officials to refuse any requests for full voter registration files containing personal identifying information.
“I implore you to fulfill your oath by declining any such illegal demands,” the officials wrote in the letter to county recorders. The letter also warns that election officials who improperly release protected voter information could face criminal consequences. Mayes and Fontes wrote that “the failure of any election official to follow Title 16’s requirement is also a class 6 felony offense.”

The willingness of Mayes to prosecute election officials was demonstrated in 2023 when former Cochise County supervisors Peggy Judd and Tom Crosby were criminally charged with one count each of conspiracy and interference with an election officer after they delayed the canvass of votes cast in Cochise County in the November 2022 General Election.
The warning came shortly after Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen announced that the Senate had complied with a federal grand jury subpoena seeking records related to the legislature’s review of the 2020 election in Maricopa County.
“The FBI has the records,” Petersen wrote on social media after turning over documents connected to the controversial 2021 audit of the county’s ballots, as reported by The Atlantic.
That audit, conducted after the 2020 election, ultimately reaffirmed President Joe Biden’s victory in Arizona, though it became a flashpoint in national disputes over election security and claims of voter fraud.
Federal investigators are reportedly seeking records tied to voter registration systems and election administration following the 2020 election. Earlier this month, the California Globe reported the FBI and Department of Homeland Security have opened probes related to Arizona’s election results, while a federal grand jury subpoena sought records connected to the Arizona Senate’s review of the 2020 election in Maricopa County.
Mayes and Fontes argue that certain voter records, including data such as birthdates, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license information, are protected under law and should not be provided to federal agencies without proper legal authority.
The officials indicated that their offices would consider legal action if necessary to prevent the release of protected voter information.
“Our offices are committed to upholding the sanctity of Arizona’s elections and democratic process,” the letter states. They added, “We will pursue to the fullest extent of the law all possible remedies to ensure the integrity of Arizona’s elections and the privacy rights of its citizens.”
The letter was also issued amid an ongoing legal dispute between the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice over requests for detailed voter registration information.
The federal probes are part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to investigate allegations related to election integrity. Arizona has become a focal point of those investigations due to the state’s narrow presidential election margin and the controversy surrounding the Maricopa County audit.
Mayes and Fontes said their offices will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with county officials on any federal requests for election records.

“Our offices are committed to upholding the sanctity of Arizona’s elections and democratic process,”
So it is OK for Arizona to have this information, but it is not OK for the Federal government to have the same information, the entity that issues Social Security Numbers and processes Federal Tax returns
The Democrats are crooks.
No doubt Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes and Democrat Secretary of State Adrian Fontes don’t want county recorders to comply with federal requests for voter data tied to new investigations into the 2020 elections because they know the elections were stolen? Both Mayes and Fontes were probably installed with voter fraud and maybe with help from nefarious entities like the cartels and the CCP?
As for Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes, she narrowly beat Republican Abraham Hamadeh by a narrow margin of 280 votes, one of the closest elections in Arizona history. She’s an extremely obnoxious attorney who has ZERO ethics. She’s also an out and loud member of the leftist alphabet rainbow mafia who conceived a daughter through in-vitro fertilization. That poor kid, imagine having Mayes for a mother?
Democrat Secretary of State Adrian Fontes is another lawyer with ZERO ethics. He has been in Democrat operative for years and he would probably starve if taxpayers weren’t supporting him? While he was Maricopa County Recorder, Fontes piloted the use of vote centers, where any voter in the county could cast a ballot regardless of precinct. Fontes also expanded early voting options in Maricopa County which is one of the largest counties in the country. It’s also one of the most corrupt with pervasive voter fraud and election irregularities.
Forensic audits should be conducted of the finances and associations of both Kris Mayes and Adrian Fontes? They’ve probably been involved in some very unsavory and shady dealings?
We see the same pattern of cheat by mail in California, and the recent deployment of “vote centers” instead of local neighborhood precincts, where neighbors would recognize one another.
These “convenient” vote centers enable election fraud because no one knows anyone, and the ballots are not processed immediately in front of the voter.
Now we drop them in a bag and who knows WHAT happens to them???
Do conservative leaning precincts even get counted, or are they shredded and replaced with other ballots???
We need to sh!tcan the electronic voting machines and return back to local precincts like the “good old days” and stop trusting the technology which has been proven to be unsecured and open to manipulation by bad actors in so many ways….
Ahhh, Arizona is following Colorado’s corrupt Secretary of State. Jena Griswold, and threatening their subordinates with punishment if they expose the vote fraud that is rampant in Arizona, Colorado and California, where the Dominion/SmartMatic/Runbeck vote fraud infrastructure has been installed…
We are over the target and taking heavy flak, AAG Dhillon…. bring in the forensic auditors and blow the lid off of the election fraud that has installed all of these corrupt Democrats by the same slim margin for YEARS!!!
“Our offices are committed to upholding the sanctity of Arizona’s elections and democratic process,” the letter states. They added, “We will pursue to the fullest extent of the law all possible remedies to ensure the integrity of Arizona’s elections and the privacy rights of its citizens.”
Note the double entendre meaning of “democratic” processes…
Shouldn’t that more truthfully read Democratic (large D) processes that enable Democrat Party vote manipulation???
We (All Americans) NEED election integrity in this state and in this country. I’ve been overwhelmed from time to time with thoughts of corruption and theft in this state and in this country. Wondering where to start to clean it up. I may be late to the party, but yea, this is where we need to start. Clean this up and we clean the state and the country up. Like critical said “ we are over the target…” and they are NOT liking it. Gotta love it.
