Bill to Keep Biological Men Out of Women’s Prisons Hearing Tuesday
California Democrats block effort to make it a felony to buy 16 and 17-year-olds for sex; anticipating same with prisons bill

Last month Democrats killed two bills by Republican Assembly members Kate Sanchez and Bill Essayli to disallow trans athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports – AB 89 and AB 844. Despite plenty of testimony from female athletes about the injuries they have sustained, and how awful it is to have biological boys and men in their locker rooms, the bills were heard in the Assembly California Assembly Arts, Entertainment, Sports & Tourism Committee, and killed by Democrats, but only after blaming President Donald Trump, DOGE, and calling those supporting the bills, “Nazis.”
Not very long ago, competing in athletics according to your biological sex was the nationwide standard. In fact, competing in athletics according to your biological sex was made federal law in 1972 with Title IX. Now you’re a Nazi for supporting and upholding Title IX according to California Democrats.
Monday Democrats in the Assembly Public Safety Committee blocked a proposal to make it a felony to purchase 16 and 17-year-old children for sex.
Think about that – Democrats do not think purchasing a 16-year old for sex is heinous enough to justify a felony charge.
“Assemblyman Nick Shultz, the Democratic chairman of the committee, confirmed AB 379, a bill to crack down on the consumers of the child sex trafficking industry, will move forward on Tuesday, but without the proposed felony charge,” KCRA reported.
Assemblyman Shultz (D-Burbank) is a former prosecutor whose bio says that he has prosecuted human trafficking. Shultz, not really saying anything, said, “We’re not saying no, but what we’re saying is if we’re going to be thoughtful policy makers, we really need to dive deep into this issue.”
Last year, Democrats rejected Senator Shannon Grove’s proposal to make buying children for sex a prison felony, and blindsided her and hijacked her bill when they forced hostile amendments, even though her bill was jointly authored by Democrat Senators Anna Caballero (D-Merced) and Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park).
Remember, it was California’s Democrats who voted last July 2023 to kill another bill by Sen. Grove, to make child sex trafficking a felony once again in the state. In “California Assembly Democrats Block Bill to Fight Sex Trafficking of Minors,” the Globe reported that Grove’s bill, Senate Bill 14 was blocked in the Assembly Public Safety Committee by Democrats, after passing unanimously in the Senate.
Public outrage and articles like ours put enough pressure on Assembly Democrats that they were shamed into calling for a re-vote on SB 14 and passed it. and Gov. Newsom signaled that he would sign the bill, which he did in September 2023.
As we explained at the time, human trafficking was defined as a “non-serious” crime because of Proposition 57 passed in 2016, which meant the act of human trafficking could no longer be considered a strike under California’s Three Strikes law.
There is a plethora of history like this with California’s Democrat lawmakers.
Tuesday, Senator Grove’s SB 311 will be heard in the Senate Public Safety Committee, to require the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to establish a secure facility at each women’s prison to house transgender women, and prohibit an incarcerated individual convicted of a registerable sex offense, except for biological women at birth, from being housed at a women’s prison.
As with biological boys and men in women’s sports physically harms many women, allowing “trans women,” biological men in women’s prisons is also causing physical harm to women. “This measure ensures the protection of biological women at birth in shared spaces such as sleeping quarters and restrooms, while also creating a dedicated facility where CDCR can better address the specific needs of transgender women,” Sen. Grove said about SB 311.
With Monday’s hijacking of AB 379 by Democrats for the purpose of watering down the penalty for purchasing 16-17 year olds for sex, many anticipate Grove’s SB 311 will either be killed, hijacked or watered down.
The Globe is attending the hearing, will be at the press conference following the hearing, and will report back on SB 311.

Thank goodness Katy Grimes has continually publicized and hammered away at the spectacle of our legislative Dem-Marxists’ sick desire for a fully depraved society that produces nothing but sobbing human wreckage. Meanwhile the Dem-Marxist legislators’ only response is to quadruple down on their sick barrage as if they are proposing bills that authorize handing out baskets of puppies to all of the state’s children.
Appreciate so much that Sen Shannon Grove continues her seemingly endless battle to restore some sanity to California.
Where is the CAGOP? Why aren’t they protesting watering down or eliminating these common sense bills? Oh, that’s right, they are bunch of cowards. We need a CAGOP 2, with people who can get the job done representing Republican values.
