Fear Mongering Gov. Newsom Warns Californians About July Heat: ‘Have a Heat Plan’

…more climate hysteria coming from the climate change pimps and lockdown tyrants… where is the shelter-in-place order?

By Katy Grimes, July 12, 2025 9:43 am

“Governor Newsom urges Californians to take precautions as state endures triple digit heat, smoky conditions.”

Apparently 40 million Californians have no idea what to do when summer temperatures hit 100 degrees – at least that is what Governor Gavin Newsom and his PR team think.

NO! Not triple digits!!!!

The fear mongering Governor sent out an email Friday July 11th after 5:00pm, instructing Californians how to handle triple digit heat, as if we’re dumb as turkeys and stand outside on the blacktop staring at the sun when it hits 110 degrees:

Governor Newsom urges Californians to take precautions as state endures triple digit heat, smoky conditions

What you need to know: Californians are strongly encourage [sic] to us [sic] state and local resources to protect themselves from heat illness as triple digit temperatures move across our state.

Oh NO! Heat illness? Shelter in place! Stay indoors! It’s hot!

Meteorologists forecasted all week hotter temperatures than we actually had, as if it would be unseasonably hot. It wasn’t.

Now that Summer has finally arrived in California, many of these shameless green agenda forecasters are gleefully warning of a “dangerously hot” summer.

Yesterday this dangerously hot weather hit 94 degrees in Northern California after being told it would be “triple digits.” Today it is predicted to be “triple digits” again. “Dangerously hot.”

“Governor Gavin Newsom is encouraging Californians to prepare for dangerous heat throughout California, and smoky conditions in the far northern part of the state, today through early next week.

The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories in many portions of the state on Friday and Saturday, extending through Sunday in parts of the Central Valley. In Northern California, areas west of Redding are under Extreme Heat Warnings due to triple digit temperatures that are expected to linger into the first part of next week. Air quality will also be impacted due to smoke from several wildfires burning in remote California and Oregon locations.”

“Governor Newsom’s “California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment” announces the release of the California Communities Extreme Heat Scoring System (CalHeatScore) website. CalHeatScore is a statewide extreme heat scoring system, pursuant to Assembly Bill 2238 (L. Rivas, 2022).”

In 2022, Gov. Newsom signed a bill into law to create an extreme heat warning and ranking system in California. The Globe reported:

Assembly Bill 2238, jointly authored by Assemblywoman Luz Rivas (D-North Hollywood) and Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella), will create a ranking and advance warning system in conjunction with the Department of Insurance and the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program (ICARP), a wing of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) that focuses on climate change impacts. Such a system will be developed by January 2024 and will also require ICARP to develop a public program around the ranking system and work with local and tribal governments in implementing the system locally, develop guidance in preparing and planning for extreme heat, and recommend adaptation measures.

And we wonder why our insurance rates are skyrocketing… “the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) that focuses on climate change impacts.”

“As temperatures soar across our state, I urge Californians to take precautions and utilize state and local resources to protect from dangerous heat illness and unhealthy air.”Governor Gavin Newsom (emphasis Gov. Newsom)

CalHeatScore says “Heat is not just a weather inconvenience—it is a dangerous climate hazard affecting Californians today. As climate change continues and temperatures rise across the state, communities are feeling the impacts of extreme heat.”

The climate historically, has always changed. But charlatans like Gavin Newsom cherry pick the scary parts, rather than the benefits – a warmer climate means more global greening takes place, more green plants grow, and fewer people die from the cold.

This is what is known as hot summer weather in California. We native Californians also know this is normal.

I’m sensing more climate hysteria coming from the climate change pimps and lockdown tyrants… where is the shelter-in-place order? Should we wear face masks so we don’t inhale smoke?

This is the rubbish Gov. Newsom and state employees are spending their time on instead of making our roads and highways drivable, providing public schools that actually teach kids to read and write, managing state forest land, providing more water storage, and public safety.

“As surely as temperatures rise during the summer, climate alarmism serves up more stories of life-threatening heat domes, apocalyptic fires and biblical floods, all blamed squarely on global warming. Yet the data to prove this link is often cherry-picked, and the proposed policy responses are enormously ineffective,” Bjorn Lomborg said in an article titled, “Fear-mongering over forest fires and climate change isn’t rooted in reality.”

How did we ever walk barefoot outside in “dangerously hot” July as kids?

This is today’s forecast for Sacrament0, July 12, 2025 – it might make 95 degrees:

And here is the forecast for the coming week in Sacramento – lovely!

Newsom’s “recently launched CalHeatScore heat-ranking tool (under CalEPA / Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment) indicates much of northern and central California will be impacted by moderate to severe heat conditions through Monday, with some areas feeling the heat through Wednesday.”

So what if it is hot – “triple digits”? This is the normal Northern California climate – a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers.

In 2022 Sacramento city officials imposed a soft lockdown on city residents: The parks were closed due to a forecasted heat wave. Parks are where people retreat when the weather is hot, to get out of hot homes and apartments.

This is the braintrust behind these time-wasting taxpayer-funded programs – they tried to close parks.

In July 1975 in Sacramento, the hottest day was 112 degrees, according to NOAA data.

Somehow, before Gavin was Governor, we knew when and how to get out of the heat.

In July 1985 in Sacramento, the hottest day was 105 degrees, according to NOAA data.

July 1995 in Sacramento, the hottest day was 106 degrees, according to NOAA data.

July 2005 in Sacramento, the hottest day was 112 degrees, according to NOAA data.

July 2015 in Sacramento, the hottest day was 107 degrees, according to NOAA data.

And here we find ourselves in July 2025 in Sacramento, the hottest day so far was 102 degrees, according to NOAA data.

Let’s pick some random years, before air conditioning:

The highest temperature recorded in Sacramento, California in 1930 was 106 °F which happened on Jul 14.

The highest temperature recorded in Sacramento, California in 1920 was 108 °F which happened 2 different times.

The highest temperature recorded in Sacramento, California in 1877 was 103 °F which happened on Jul 12.

As the Globe reported, between 1972 and 1992, over 20 years, every summer in Sacramento was in the triple digits, and there were four summers that had days hotter than 110 degrees.

Radio and television weather reporters are now medical professionals telling us how to be safe under these “extreme” heat conditions:

  • drink fluids
  • stay inside
  • stay hydrated
  • stay in an air-conditioned room
  • stay out of the sun

Even my dogs are smart enough to stay out of the sun.

This is just more of the hysterical climate change hoax designed to control all people, which no one outside of government actually believes.

I am a native of Sacramento and remember life when most people did not have air conditioning in their homes or cars. We were able to survive hot Sacramento summer days without Democrats in government telling us what to do.

This is just one more part of Democrats desire to control the people cradle-to-grave. And they only know how to do it through fear, anxiety, despair and dread, rather than just providing information people can actually use.

Instead, Governor Newsom inspires revulsion from the people.

These are the “heat” tips from Governor Newsom “to stay safe from heat and reduce health risks:”

Have a heat plan: Newsom says “Create a heat plan and encourage others to stay safe during a heat event. Gov. Newsom’s “heat plan” takes you to a disaster readiness page. Heat is now a “disaster” according to Gov. Newsom.

Keep cool: Newsom says “Visit a local cooling center or air-conditioned space, such as a library, community center or shopping center.” He then tells you to keep your doors and windows closed at home, because you’re too stupid to know how to keep the heat out of your house.

Use your support networks: Newsom thinks you need to call friends and family for help staying cool on the “dangerously hot” triple digits. And he recommends “creating an emergency preparedness plan” for the summer temps.

  1. I have a long term heat plan. That is, to support the level of government which recognizes my patriotism and citizenship.

  2. I look at the weather app on my phone every evening, it is specific to my location (3 miles east of Napa). We have had exactly 11 days since 1/1/2025 that have equaled or exceeded the average temperature for that day. BTW this has been the trend for 3 years.

  3. Ha, ha this coming from a guy who can’t stand the “heat” on X!
Libs of Tik Tok gave it to him good a couple of nights ago,
She got the last laugh when she asked the male readers choose to sit in a strange crossed leg position.! Absolutely hillarious! She posted a picture of him seated. Maybe he wanted to show off his new hush puppies😂
BTW, my heat plan is to not listen to him and crank up the AC when I need it.

  4. Oh, the humanity! Good thing Neighborly Newsom is there to help us out of the hot weather thicket before, left to our own devices, we burn to a crisp.
If I could get the Gov on the phone I’d also ask him what shoes I should wear today. Are flip-flops too dangerous? I don’t know! They might be! I need some advice!
I don’t know, though, on second thought this could backfire on the Gov, right? Again. Because treating everyone as if they are as stupid as Turkey Lurkey, who was famously led astray by Chicken LIttle, no less, may not exactly be a formula for success for the All-Knowing Gavin. So we actually need him to be as self-important — but clueless — as ever. All the time.
So Good luck Newsom! And enjoy whatever it is you are “self-medicating” with these days.
    Jerk.

    1. Ha ha!
      Take that, you Turkey Jerky😂🦃

It would be risky business taking fashion advise from Newsolini. I would guess he would advise Hush Puppies😂

  5. I remember back in 90’s in Pasadena, we had 3 solid weeks of 100+ degree weather. We cooled our house with one single window air conditioner (mounted in the wall below the window) and were very comfortable, even with 2 young children.

    1. Our family den floor was a sub level with dark linoleum floor covering. An addition for a pool table by the previous owner.
After dad installed a window mount ac unit near the floor, the cool air layer it produced made it a perfect summertime recovery station.

  6. Gov. Newsom’s “Heat Plan” is to hold “Big Oil” accountable and financially liable for the Climate Change they have supposedly wrought.
Too bad he doesn’t realize California’s real disaster is reflected in every mirror he looks into.

    1. Ooooh, nice response!
Red 🚨 alert !the danger is looking back at ya, Newsolini 😡
Phew it is getting hot in here😅

  7. Just chasing the captured chickens who believe this guy from one side of the pen to the other.
Listen to your nanny! Do as told , for you own good! Lol

  8. While visiting San Dimas CA earlier this afternoon our car temperature gauge was 86 degrees with a slight breeze blowing in out of the west. It was 100 degrees north of the Grapevine at about 6:00 Pm. Not much of a heat wave

  9. Even The Weather Channel is bought into the climate change hysteria / grift…
Marched in an East Bay drum corps in the late 70’s and we regularly rehearsed in high 90’s low 100’s near Mt. Diablo and went to a Sacramento show where it was about 105.
Thank you for preparing the NOAA evidence going back 100 years to show these idiot governmental nannies that it’s summer and summer is hot.
Now they’ve built a massive fear-mongering infrastructure to institutionalize their bleating.
Rather than commenting on “bad air” Gavin, why don’t you invest in preventative fuel-load reduction programs to minimize the wildfire risk that creates these “smoky conditions” that you want to warn us about???
But I guess that wouldn’t provide cover so your Democrats can enable the destruction of entire regions by wildfire, so you can enact your high-density, all-electric residential housing agenda by 2030, right???

  10. Newsom’s heat message is directed towards Democrats. If you are stupid enough to vote for Democrats, then you lack critical thinking skills required when summer arrives.

  11. PG & E also added to the frenzy! They cant even keep the lights on during a minor heatwave.
“PG&E: A SmartDay Event has been called for 07/11/2025. Reduce energy use between 4PM – 9PM. HELP: pge.com/myalerts or call 1-866-743-0263. To OptOut reply STOP.”

  12. If one is stupid enough to vote for California Democrats, one lacks critical thinking skills PERIOD!!!
    If not functional brain cells…

  13. Turkey, like democrats, have a well known hierarchy. Younger jakes descend on toms that present with moderate sign of physical impairment, with spectacular unified energy. Thus, the turn of phrase “ganging up on”.
One day, democrats are going to grow weary of this clown sucking all the O2 from their political futures. It will be more on the down low, passively aggressive, subtley deceitful… than more honestly instinctive young turks. Earlier contributors have suggested here, that the national party base is already losing interest, and turned their attention on more appealing potential candidates than our Guber, as their preferred future WH occupant. At some point, I think he will be alienated from power closer to home, by his own party (remnants of liberal normalcy) sensing that if they let him go much further, that their own collective standing as a “loyal opposition” will become untenabley difficult.

  14. Our ancestors came to California in covered wagons. They had no air conditioning, no refrigeration, and no weather reports.

Apparently, based on the Governor’s warnings, humans have devolved since then to the point where their intelligence is not sufficient to sustain human life.

  15. What B.S. The Governor Newsom should have a plan to manage forest, instead of his plan of “Let It Burn!” Have a smoke plan to remove yourself from deadly smoke caused by the thousands of fires burning in Commie California. Screw his heat plan. That can easily be taken care of by a swimming pool, going to an air conditioned bar. Smoke plan is what people need.

    1. I’ve lived here all of my life and as you probably know the state was not on fire all the time. Even in recent years not all that long ago we didn’t have “fire season, with which every resident who lives here now is well familiar. This is Gov Gruesome’s doing, through purposeful neglect, likely a bit of permissive arson thrown in, and the rest of the nonsense, all so he can keep pushing the “climate change” B.S. Shameful, unacceptable, but we’re living with it nonetheless, aren’t we.

      1. Oh and burning places down also helps with the stack-and-pack agenda, now being instituted in the Pacific Palisades particularly, but also Altadena, by way of the L.A. City commies headed by Mayor Karen Bass, and abetted by the L.A. County Supervisor commies, too, and all with Gov Newsom’s blessing.

      2. Is this one of the arsonists Newsom let out during his multiple prison releases?
I’m tempted to say “to do his dirty work?” But I won’t.
“Arsonist in Runyon Canyon detained by passersby before arrest by law enforcement”

This hiking area is near neighborhoods and homes. The story could have ended differently.

  16. and now that y’all be chargin’ up them there EV’s from the overtaxed grid, may have to unplug and turn off your ac units (like king gavin requested u do during a not too long ago heat wave). No mention of urban heat islanding, which would make this article exceedingly long. CAISO website shows actual graphs and data folks. Peak LOAD occurs around 1900 hrs (7 pm), well AFTER the solar panels have started going to sleep for the day. Science says that all of the concrete and asphalt keeps pumping out the stored heat energy well into the darkness of night. Maybe you still want to tear up your CO2 absorbing natural grass and install VOC spewing astroturf as well ????

  17. It’s funny how every year leftists rediscover, as if for the very first time, that it gets hot in the summer. What a bunch of maroons.

  18. I am helping Gov. Newsom write his next blog post free of charge.

    Have a Food Plan
Monitor your refrigerator and cupboards for food supplies. Create a food plan and encourage others to do the same.

    Keep Stocked
When you notice that your refrigerator or cupboards are lacking food supplies, visit a grocery store. If you are unable to get to a grocery store because gasoline prices are so high:
    * Lie on the couch to conserve energy.
    * Drink plenty of liquids including tap water unless you have exceeded your daily California indoor water ration of 47 gallons a day. You can live for days just drinking water.
    * Ask neighbors if they can spare some food.

Remember, we are all in this together.

    1. I sit under a tree in the back yard and drink plenty of beer while listening to music. Does that count?

  19. The tone of language used at Calfire website was interesting. Though it has the Max fire listed it makes clear that it is, “Not a Calfire incident.”
    Touchy touchy, Guber!

  20. Fearmongering worked with the sheep during the covid hoax; I guess he thinks it will work with heat. Those of us who think for ourselves know that.
