Former GOP Election Official Buys Dominion Voting Systems For Undisclosed Sum
Scott Leiendecker promises to prioritize paper-based transparency to ‘build trust from the ground up’

Former GOP election official and founder of Liberty Vote, Scott Leiendecker, has purchased Dominion Voting Systems for an undisclosed sum. As reported by Axios news, Leiendecker created KNOWiNK in 2011, a software program that assists election workers with voter verification and voter check in at polling locations using their electronic poll books.
Leiendecker told Axios that his company is “committed to delivering election technology that prioritizes paper-based transparency, security and simplicity so that voters can be assured that every ballot is filled-in accurately and fairly counted. Liberty Vote signals a new chapter for American elections — one where trust is rebuilt from the ground up.”
After the 2000 election, Leiendecker was appointed by former Missouri secretary of state Matt Blunt (R) to investigate St. Louis’ elections administration and was later appointed by Blunt as St. Louis’ GOP election director when Blunt was serving as Missouri’s governor.
Over the years, Dominion Voting Systems has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, with both Democrats and Republicans blaming Dominion voting machines for voting irregularities, loss of elections, and the potential of hackers accessing the machines to manipulate vote counts and election outcomes.
After the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton and Democratic leaders, including then-Senator Kamala Harris, claimed that Russians and foreign agents hacked voting machines so Donald Trump would win the presidency. During a Senate committee hearing, Harris claimed she saw the machines “hacked before her eyes” during a demonstration at the Capitol.
After the 2020 election, claims of election-rigging were widespread amongst republicans for President Donald Trump’s loss. In response, Dominion filed multiple defamation suits securing a near-billion dollar settlement from Fox News.
Axios reports:
A representative for the company said that it would conduct a “top-down” review of Dominion’s equipment ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, and that the company would “rebuild or retire” machines as needed.
Liberty officials asked Dominion to settle, as part of the deal, several other defamation lawsuits launched against Trump allies. Dominion has reportedly reached undisclosed settlements with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and One America News Network in recent weeks. Giuliani and Powell had been sued for $1.3 billion each, and sued OANN for $1.6 billion.
Dominion’s website now redirects to Liberty Vote, with a statement from Leiendecker reading, “My Fellow Americans, Today, I am proud to announce Liberty Vote — a 100% American‐owned election technology company dedicated to restoring trust in our elections. Our mission is clear: every vote must be secure, fair, and verifiable.”
The Dominion website redirects to Liberty Vote’s home page that includes a message from Leiendecker:
“I have spent my life working to strengthen America’s elections. That commitment began years ago, in the aftermath of the 2000 election, when I worked for the Missouri Secretary of State. Later, as Election Director in St. Louis, I led the effort to modernize outdated systems and rebuild public trust. Eventually, I founded an election technology company that today serves nearly one in four voters nationwide.”
With Liberty Vote, we are building on that legacy. We are turning the page and beginning the vital work of restoring faith in American elections. While these changes will not happen overnight, Liberty Vote’s mission is rooted in American values and committed to transparency, independent audits, and verifiable paper records. Our purpose is simple: to ensure that America’s elections are secure, fair, and honest.
Liberty Vote gave Axios a statement from Nevada’s Democratic secretary of state, Cisco Aguilar, who described Leiendecker as “open, honest and transparent.”

May this be a turning point for American elections.
I will be praying for a new direction.
One that includes, voter i.d., paper ballots and single day voting.
I dunno CaliGirl…. something about this deal has raised my hackles…
I hope you’re right, but there’s something about this that just doesn’t sit right…..
What’s the worst thing that could happen? They continue cheating for democrats?
How does Hugo Chavez feel about this buyout?
Mr. Leiendecker can start by reviewing each of the security weaknesses addressed in this PDF to Alex Padilla from a Colorado IT security firm
There are numerous exploits identified and explained away with platitudes.
Only Texas had the spine to say “no deal ” to this bug-ridden platform…
And Tina Peters is in prison because she did her job and made backup copies of the previous election results before it was overwritten in the “Trusted Build ” update process…

“Protection against Malicious Software
Testing performed: Tests were performed to verify that COTS products are
implemented to protect against malicious software, as described in voting system
manufacturer documentation.
Applicable to: EMS, Adjudication, ICC, ICE, ICP2 and ICX.
Review of the requirement 7.4.2, showed that on the EMS Server, the AVAST
Antivirus (AV) File Shield (the real time AV monitor) was only able to detect and
clean one of the four European Institute for Computer Antivirus Research (EICAR)
files which potentially leaves the system open to zipped and double zipped viruses
as well as infection strings in plain text.
The ICX system is an android tablet device and contains no form of AV protection.
The ICE and ICP2 systems are proprietary systems that utilize firmware and
compact flash cards to run, load, and store election-based software. These
systems contain no operating system and no AV protection.
Testing demonstrated that the requirement was partially covered. The findings can be
mitigated by rigorous adherence to physical security processes and procedures, which
would preclude the introduction of any malicious applications.”
^^^ PLATITUDES!!!!
The hen-house is open to the foxes….

As usual, the devil is in the details. I would assume that Leiendecker is talking about the use of water-marked paper ballots with a voter-unique id number pre-printed on each ballot. The voter-id would be separate from SSN or DMV so it could be double cross checked. The voter-id would have to be obtained in person with signature. For the sake of transparency, I would say NO to any fixes to questionable parts of the legacy Dominion system. Just remove those parts entirely.
P.S. There would be push back on this type of voter id since it would amount to a national id card that could be used regardless of where the voter lives or moves to.
Investigate Leiendecker to see if he is a RINO (Democrat operative) or an actual constitutional conservative. Like Cali Girl my instincts tell me this stinks of establishment trickery. Why do we need “technology” to do elections? If we have paper ballots that are counted by crooked machines what good is that?
The best control is for voter to look at each candidate to see what issues and bills they have signed on to support, and how they voted on all bills, and current activities while in office. Then voters will know which candidate on the ballot is for the people or for themselves and their financial backers. Who or what city or state has the manpower to check every voting machine every day to assure honesty? None. Control is via each voter and is the responsibility of each voter.
