Gov. DeSantis Focuses on California Collapse While Gov. Newsom Deludes on ‘Climate Change’
The California governor carries on as if he is running for President or is a candidate-in-waiting

The contrast between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and California Governor Gavin Newsom could not be more glaring, as both governors were on display Monday.
2024 Republican Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis released a new ad on Monday critical of Governor Gavin Newsom’s policies and disastrous results, leading to California’s significant population loss, the out-of-control homeless crisis, rising crime, theft and property crime, and businesses leaving the state in record numbers.
DeSantis who was in California Monday for several fundraising events, says in the ad:
“The American people as a whole have voted with their feet when you compare California against Florida. We have had a great experiment in governing philosophies. We’ve witnessed a great American exodus from states governed by leftist politicians. This is a result of better governance in states like Florida. It is the result of poor governance in these left wing states. That’s why people are moving.”
Sadly, Gov. DeSantis is right. Left wing cities and states are buckling under the weight of misguided and poor leadership, as well as corruption.
Rather than admit California’s serious problems, Governor Gavin Newsom joined President Biden and a California Climate Action Corps volunteer in Palo Alto Monday “to lift up the President’s announcement of more than $600 million in federal grant funding for climate resilience projects across the country.”
Newsom was currying favor with the President for more federal money. He’s good at spending a lot of money, but the results are sketchy and often untraceable.
It’s a good thing Newsom says publicly that he supports Joe Biden’s presidency and isn’t running agains him, or the federal $$$ pot might disappear. But don’t believe Newsom’s promises if Biden ends up not being able to run.
“President Biden also announced that California will receive $67 million in federal funding to help build power lines and transmission infrastructure, supporting the state’s transition to 100% clean electricity by 2045.”
The contrast between DeSantis and Newsom is stark.
The California governor, who carries on as if he is running for President, or is a candidate-in-waiting, refuses to seriously address what ails his state, instead focusing on shady issues like climate change, and equity hoax. He created the California abortion sanctuary state, legalized abortion/infanticide right up until birth, authorized a trans sanctuary state allowing children to receive hormone blockers without parental consent, exacerbated the homeless crisis, says he’s working on the thousands of fentanyl deaths, and has embraced illegal immigration, even providing health insurance for illegal immigrants. He’s also on board for the high speed rail boondoggle and Delta water tunnel(s), while frequently reminding the state’s residents to stop using so much water and energy.
Even the Associated Press can see Newsom’s masquerade: “All the while, Newsom’s team has been moving deliberately to avoid the perception that he’s running a shadow presidential campaign just as Biden ramps up his political activities.”
“The 55-year-old Newsom is building his national brand and visibility and is “certainly trying to create opportunities for himself.”
That’s a long and winding road ahead for Newsom unless he can convince the rest of the nation that California is still the Golden State and to ignore all of the residents and businesses departing for low-tax, business friendly states.
AP reports:
While polling shows that many Democrats don’t want the 80-year-old Biden to seek a second term, Newsom said there are no circumstances in which he would challenge the sitting president of his own party.
“Not on God’s green earth, as the phrase goes,” Newsom said in the weekend interview, adding that he would be with Biden on Monday and hosting a fundraiser for him Tuesday. “I have been pretty consistently — including recently on Fox News — making the case for his candidacy.”
Gov. Newsom doth protest too much, methinks. It’s not a challenge to doubt Newsom’s sincerity.
Even if Newsom defends California and his policies, his refusal to acknowledge just how bad it is could bite back.
When asked by Fox News host Sean Hannity about California losing so many businesses, Newsom blamed the Covid lockdowns saying businesses hadn’t bounced back. But it was Governor Newsom who ordered the lockdowns, killing off California businesses – yet Newsom seems oblivious to the cause and effect.

After Sean Hannity asked Newsom about California losing so many businesses, Newsom blamed the Covid lockdowns saying businesses hadn’t bounced back, but as Katy Grimes pointed out, it was Governor Newsom who ordered the lockdowns that killed off California businesses! Rather than giving Newsom a platform on Faux News to regurgitate his lies, Newsom instead needs to be hauled before a tribunal and be held accountable for his many crimes against humanity that includes locking healthy Californians and small businesses down (while excluding himself and his cronies) during the Covid scamdemic and for mandating experimental mRNA shots that have injured and killed thousands of innocent Californians. He needs to be held accountable!
Hair-gel is an empty suit with zero credibility or accomplishments. His time in “public service” has been simply a disaster. CA state finances are cratering. Crime is rampant. Tourism is tanking. Homeless junkies infest urban areas. Illegal aliens from central america run the drug supply chain without fear of reprisal. Politicians and government employees are on the take across the board. Police are neutered by corrupt DAs. We are a state-sized Portland and Seattle in waiting.
It’s not a challenge to doubt Newsom’s sincerity, nor his lack of effective leadership, let alone his lack of intelligence, morals or ethics.
(There, now it looks about right….)
