Gov. Doth Protest: Gavin Newsom’s Tedious Denials About Presidential Campaign

Newsom insists Biden’s presidency has been a ‘masterclass’ in how to run the country

Gavin Newsom’s denials about running for President are tedious. In fact, “The Gov. doth protest too much, methinks,” to borrow from Shakespeare.

On Meet The Press Sunday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom unconvincingly bloviated about Joe Biden’s record, saying Biden’s presidency has been a “masterclass” in how to run the country.

Newsom needs some new material – this is the five-hundredth time the Governor has used “masterclass” to describe Biden’s presidency.

Gov. Newsom’s fake slobbering love affair with Joe Biden playing out very publicly in the mainstream press is a little thick – a bit much – tedious – dreary – cringeworthy.

Mediate reports:

Host Kristen Welker brought up Biden’s age and asked if it would be “responsible” for Democrats “to put him at the top of the ticket” given the fact that “76 percent of voters say they have real concerns about President Biden’s ability to serve a second term.”

“Responsible? I revere his record,” Newsom answered, continuing:

“I mean, what he’s done in three years, it’s been a masterclass. Close to 15 million jobs, that’s eight times more than the last three Republican presidents combined. The economy is booming, inflation is cooling. It’s .6% more than it was in the summer of 2020 at just 3.1%.

Wait a second, we have American manufacturing coming home, all because of Biden’s wisdom, his temperance, his capacity to to lead in a bipartisan manner, which is an underrepresented point. And, so, I have great confidence moving forward. And so the answer is, absolutely! All in, in terms of the next four years for Joe Biden.”

Besides reciting a fractured fairytale of “accomplishments,” Newsom’s fawning over Biden entered bootlicking level.

It’s embarrassing. And Newsom is a really bad actor – Jean-Claude Van Damme bad. Newsom’s appearances on the Sunday news shows are scripted, practiced, hyperbolic pomposity.

Case-in-point – When asked about Joe Biden’s record, Newsom said:

“I think he’s doing everything he needs to do,” Newsom answered. “I mean, he’s got an extraordinary record. He’s doing everything he needs to do on Ukraine at the moment. He’s doing everything he needs to do to wrestle some common sense as it relates to a bipartisan approach to address the issue of the border when Republicans couldn’t take yes for an answer, because they don’t want to make that a political issue. He is leading.”

“So, no, from my humble prospective, not only have the last three years been extraordinary, I’ve been out, as you know, on the campaign trail. I was just out in California. I’ve seen him up close, I’ve seen him from far. But here’s my point: it’s because of his age that he’s been so successful. It’s because of the wisdom and the character that’s developed over the years…so the opportunity to express that for four more years, what a gift it is for the American people.”

Ah. This is Newsom being humble as he opines that it’s because of his age that Joe Biden is so successful. And another 4 extraordinary years of Joe eating ice cream, tripping up Air Force One stairs, and sniffing hair would be a “gift” to the American people, according to Governor French Laundry.

Mediate reported:

Welker cited a report from The Washington Post on “anxious Democrats” reaching out to “top Biden donors” and asking “When is Gavin getting in?”

Before Welker could even finish her question, Newsom was already putting on a perturbed face.

“The buzz has not stopped. I know you’ve been asked this before, but do you still rule out a run in 2024?” Welker asked.

“You gotta be kidding. I am here celebrating the extraordinary accomplishments of the Biden-Harris administration,” he objected. “It’s all idle chatter. It’s all a — you know what? That’s a sideshow. I think what Democrats need to do is worry less, do more.”

Welker pressed him on whether he is truly “ruling it out a hundred percent,” and Newsom continued to adopt an offended tone.

The Globe could write a less schlocky script:

GAVIN: “Ah shucks. I’m Joe Biden’s biggest fan. I’m only focused on getting him reelected.”

Q: But if something happens to him, what then?

GAVIN: “If my country needs me, if other qualified candidates want me, I’ll step up – for America. It would be hard for my family, but I’ll do it for America…”

The reason we know Gavin Newsom is on his own self-serving campaign trail is that no one in the national media will ask California’s Governor why California is in such bad shape – why he has a budget deficit of $73 billion  – why millions of people and businesses are leaving for Red States – why California energy bills are doubling – why gas prices are the highest in the nation – why Newsom created an abortion tourism industry – why reparations are still on the table – why he’s so focused on climate change when it never polls as a top 10 issue among voters – why he ordered and regulates a water shortage on California’s ag industry – why he won’t address or get rid of sexualized elementary school education – why he’s so friendly with China…

And speaking of China, remember his bizarre trip to China – the trip where Newsom ignored discussing serious issues with China, including technology espionage, and human rights abuses. The Globe reported in November:

Gavin Newsom’s trip to China (via Israel) exposes what an unserious but ambitious politician he really is – governing a big state just isn’t fun, after all. Working to be a statesman isn’t as rewarding as being a high-level office holder for Gavin. The timing of his trip was obviously designed to meet with China General Secretary Xi Jinping ahead of President Joe Biden’s scheduled meeting in San Francisco at the APEC Summit next month.

For Newsom, who doth protests he isn’t running for President in 2024, is sure making a lot of moves which serve to elevate his profile, but have no benefit at all for his home state of California.

Newsom is really tedious, and his acting isn’t improving.

  1. You better get ready to apologize to “Jean Claude Van Damme” while I agree that he was bad actor at least he was in action movies. Newsom’s version of action is picking up trash along a highway (boring). Newsoms ambition is going to be the end of his political career. With his record of accomplishments from his time as Mayor of San Francisco and now as Govenor to run one he is on a one-way ticket to political retirement. My hope is that he is put out to pasture as a result of this recall.

  2. Ha HA! Thank you Katy —- it needed to be said, that’s for sure. What a TIRESOME clown this guy is, never mind a shameless one. Pretty sickening, as usual. And he went BEYOND boot-licking, if you ask me. Definitely went beyond boot-licking. Yuck!
But wouldn’t you think even Gavin Newsom might want to avoid being so utterly FALSE? Isn’t he afraid that his audience will discount everything else he rattles on about because of it? Except if you noticed he DID talk about California as if it is just a place he visits occasionally, and THAT was certainly true.
For more Fun with Gavin, listen to KABC-790’s John Phillips and Randy Wang below. Three and a half minutes of good clean well-deserved mockery of Gav in this interview:

  3. One more comment. It just clicked Newsom is purposely knocking down dams under his watch to eliminate the amount of future water that can be used for agriculture. This will help the global elites control what people in America and the world eat in the future. This man has to be stopped. The sooner the better. This is a real war for the future of America

  4. Fake it until you make it .It is a California thing.

Too bad Italian comics are now making Biden pooping jokes, when they spoof the Leader of the Free World. Because the world views Biden a lot differently than Newscum.

I still struggle with the math- the economy grows because Biden pumps fake cash into the markets? Biden shuts down the entire economy for two awful years over “covid™” and then brags when it struggles back to life? Any boost in the economy comes solely because the animal spirits of the marketplace know Trump will win in 2024, and they are already going long. We count the days when we are finally delivered from this Biden nightmare.

You are all smoke and mirrors, Newsom. We know it, so your scam is not working. Are you just trying to keep even the 22 million government employees still lapping up our tax dollars from defecting too?

      1. All that’s missing is a glass of whiskey in his hand and he’d be that obnoxious drunk uncle that everyone tries to ignore.

  5. Newsom is saying the same thing Pelosi does about Joe Biden, while Obama’s wing of the Democrat party (David Axelrod, and the Ragin Cajun) continues to voice the obvious problems with age, incoherent policies, open border, Kamala Harris, inflation), and the Progressives pull off a huge Michigan protest vote against Biden’s Middle East policies in Michigan yesterday.

I can’t wait until the “reality” of the national election meets “Masterclass” Biden in November, and will look forward to the post election interview with Gavin.

  6. Hair gel Hitler Newsom pretending that he’s not running for president is tedious as Katy Grimes mentioned. No doubt the criminal Democrat mafia has future plans for him? Given his widespread disapproval among voters nationwide, the only way he’ll ever get into higher office is with Democrat voter fraud and rigged voting machines?

  7. Newsom looks like he’s trying to be a male model in a men’s cologne ad in this picture….

    Period – full stop
