I Need My Doctor Back Again
‘Ronald Reagan speaks out against socialized medicine’

The list of things Kamala Harris promises she will do if elected president includes completely doing away with private healthcare insurance. It brings to me the question of why Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom, along with Barack Obama, didn’t already do it.
It also brings to my mind the words of a prophet from back in 1961, spoken by a non-politician California film actor named Ronald Reagan, who had recently changed his political affiliation from economic liberalism to economic conservatism. He spoke those words via a long play (LP) record available to you right now via YouTube. His speech was 19 minutes and 28 seconds long. Here is the text of that speech, titled “Ronald Reagan speaks out against socialized medicine.”
I urge you to listen to that speech and do your best to understand and hopefully believe it. By doing so, you will be able to understand just how to find your doctor! Reagan was a prophet, and his prophecy has completely panned out. If you’ve already heard and read it, please do it again. It will give you the impetus to “do something”!
During his talk he described exactly what we face today, both doctor and patient. Reagan spoke of free enterprise (inclusive of many industries), limited constitutional government (government economy, based on the rule of law), and fiscal responsibility (dependent on all of us). He spoke of “majority rule” as a fine aspect of democracy but reminded us of those guarantees written into our government concerning the rights of the individual and of the minorities (the Bill of Rights, and in my view the precious special importance of the first amendment).
Fast forward to 2024. The candidate running against Kamala Harris is Donald Trump, who says that “We have skipped over socialism and now we have communism.” He says, vote for me and we will “make America great again.”
Did you know that I need my doctor back again, and that I am very frustrated, just like you? It is true. I have been a California doctor for 42 years. And I am telling you this right now, from the bottom of my heart. Yes, I have been a successful Sacramento surgeon, and I know exactly what makes careful and dedicated physicians and surgeons satisfied, and what makes them tick. I know what turns them off. And I also know that if you, as a group of concerned California citizens, speak up and demand that our bloated bully government give us back our doctors, they will do it in an instant. And your doctors will become your best friends.
Do you really want caring, ethical, and readily available doctors back again? Why be tentative? It reminds me of when I was in high school. I was a shy kid, petrified about the possibility of asking a girl out on a date. I hated the thought of getting shut down, but man would it have been great. So, after I went into a cave and became a doctor (eleven years ), I came out of that cave and married a spectacular nurse I met at UC Davis Medical Center as an intern in surgery. No fear! Five years later, I became a tender, young and vulnerable surgeon in Sacramento, very unprepared for all the challenges ahead, with no fear. But I learned a lot. And you have as well.
I have found that the people who read California Globe are smart, and yet continue to need their doctors back again! My response? So do I. Lots of doctors! There are over 100,000 licensed California physicians and surgeons in California. We need to stop being tentative and let every single one of them know that we want them back. We demand to have them back.
So, vote for free enterprise medicine and you will have them back, because as a united force we are one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all! Vote for affordable, available, safe, satisfying, trusting, caring, ethical and compassionate doctors back again! That’s a promise from a doctor that wants nothing less than that for you.
