Biden Energy Secretary Granholm to Visit So Cal to Tour Electric Truck Dealership During Heat Wave
How will EVs charge with CalISO’s flex alert and energy providers pleading for electricity conservation?

Thursday and Friday U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm will travel to Southern California to tour the site of one of the first electrified truck dealerships in America.
Secretary Granholm just happens to be visiting California during such an “extreme heat event” according to Gov. Newsom, a flex-alert was just issued by the California Independent System Operator (CalISO) telling Southern California “due to high temperatures pushing up energy demand and tightening available power supplies.”
It’s the “tightening available power supplies” part that has many Californians vowing to stick with their gas-powered autos and trucks. Because simultaneously, as Gov. Gavin Newsom has now ordered the state to prohibit the sale of gas-powered autos by 2035, less than one week later, California energy providers can’t provide the necessary electricity to power what we even currently need electrified. Where will all of the electricity come from for the millions of electric vehicles in California’s future?
Wind and solar? Meh. Maybe California should figure out how to fix our electric grid before we outlaw gas cars.
CalISO implored residents to conserve energy between 4pm and 9pm. Other energy officials have asked residents to avoid charging electric vehicles, and if possible not to use electricity during the heat wave. It is 100+ degrees in Southern California today, tomorrow, Friday and possibly through Labor Day. Northern California is expected to hit anywhere between 100 degrees and 106 by Sunday, and possibly 110 degrees Monday. Although, the “extreme heat” predictions haven’t even been close in Northern CA recently.
“With excessive heat in the forecast across much of the state and Western U.S., the grid operator is expecting high electricity demand, primarily from air conditioning use, and is calling for voluntary conservation steps to help balance supply and demand,” CalISO said.
“The Secretary will be joined by U.S. Representatives Pete Aguilar (CA-31), Norma Torres (CA-35) and Katie Porter (CA-45) for stops through San Bernadino, Santa Ana and Fontana, CA.”
“During this trip to the Golden State, the Secretary and Members of Congress will and meet with the next generation of clean energy workers,” Granholm’s press release said.
CalISO admits this lack of electricity is because of a lack of solar-generated power:
“Today’s Flex Alert is scheduled between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., when the grid is most stressed from higher demand and less solar energy. During that time, consumers are urged to conserve power by setting thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, if health permits, avoiding use of major applicances and turning off unnecessary lights. They should also avoid charging electric vehicles while the Flex Alert is in effect.”
This is definitely from the “you can’t make this stuff up” file.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said earlier this week, “a much cheaper strategy” is getting an electric vehicle, during an interview on WHO (NBC) (Des Moines, Iowa) on 8/28/2022. “We want to electrify the whole country so people can have access to electricity, electric vehicles, and the fuel for them, which of course is electricity,” Granholm said.
Well, not in the Golden State where we will be “conserving” electricity for the next 4-5 days during a summer heat wave with temps higher than 100 degrees.
Will Granholm be flying in on an electric plane? Will her government caravan be Electric Vehicles?
Likely not, with dwindling electricity. It’s far more likely they will fly on and drive vehicles they can count on – evil “fossil fuel” burners.
“A Flex Alert is issued by the ISO when the electricity grid is under stress because of generation or transmission outages, or from persistent hot temperatures,” CalISO says.
What a time to visit California’s first electrified truck dealership.

Granholm is an idiot, and a moron just like the entire Branden administration. I wonder if she will sing her “the End of Gasoline” song? None of these environmentalists have a brain cell in their heads.
The reason the leftists want all of us to drive EVs is to take away our freedom and prosperity – the freedom to go where we want and do what we want, when we want. It’s all about CONTROL and NOT about saving the environment (https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/10-facts-electric-vehicle-advocates-dont-want-you-know).
This is hilarious.
Is Granholm one of Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum “Young Global Leaders” like Governor Gavin “I wanna be #47” Newsom???
Enjoy the Inland Empire Ms. Granholme – it’s always been one of the hottest, most miserable parts of SoCal and regularly hits more than 100 degrees, and did so REGULARLY way back in the Reagan Administration when I was water-skiing with friends at Arrowhead during college…
This is NOT climate change – it’s actually been COOLER than usual until this late-summer heat spike…
What did she arrive in? Odds are 10 to 1 it was in a 20 SUV (Suburban) motorcade with the engines all idling the entire time she was spewing her gibberish.
