Bogus ACTBLUE Poll for Senator Wiener’s Bill to hold ‘Big Oil’ Responsible for California’s Natural Disasters
Wiener’s new bill sponsored by the Center for Climate Integrity, ACTBLUE

California Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) introduced a new bill to hold “Big Oil” responsible for natural disasters in California. Sen. Wiener proclaimed that “The fossil fuel industry is fueling climate change,” and then announced Senate Bill 222 to force the oil and gas industry to pay for all disasters in the state – and in doing so, will allow insurance companies and victims of fires, floods, rain and sleet, wind events, mudslides, and earthquakes to sue fossil fuel companies for damages, the Globe reported in January.
In addition to blaming the oil and gas industry, his bill requires an evaluation of the state’s Fair Access to Insurance Requirements Plan, FAIR Plan, and would allow it to sue the oil and gas industry as well.
“The fossil fuel industry is fueling climate change,” Sen. Wiener says. “They [fossil fuel industry] knew it was leading to disaster for decades, and have incapacitated lawmakers” to make money, he said in January.

Sponsoring Wiener’s bill is the Center for ClimateIntegrity, which brags that they are “Exposing Big Oil’s Lies & Demanding Accountability.” The Center for Climate Integrity is a Washington DC non-profit. …Wondering how much funding they have received from USAID…
Here is their income history according to their 2023 IRS Form 990:
(a) 2018 – $250,000
(b) 2019 – $130,000
Then they jump from $130k to $4 million in 2020? Really?
In 2020 $4M
(c) 2020 – $4,027,959
In 2021 – $5.5M
(d) 2021 $5,538,041
By 2022, it was $7.5M.
(e) 2022 $7,485,139
(f) Total $17,431,139
How many legitimate non-profits jump from $130k to $7.5M in 3 years?
$17,431,13 in three years is a lot of moola, especially when the organization can securely hide behind a non-profit.
The Center for Climate Integrity has a 501(C)(4) and spend hundreds of thousands annually on lobbying.
They brag about their oil industry lawsuits all over the country – there are 8 here in California.
Most interesting however, is today, the Center for Climate Integrity claims, that “California voters support recovering insurance losses from Big Oil, new poll finds.”
Really?
What is this new poll? Why it’s a poll conducted by the Center for Climate Integrity and Data for Progress of 656 likely voters.
“From January 28 to 30, 2025, Data for Progress and the Center for Climate Integrity conducted a survey of 656 likely voters in California, including an oversample of Los Angeles County, using web panel respondents,” Center for Climate Integrity says.
“Data for Progress is a progressive think tank and polling firm” that claims, “A new generation of progressives is rising — a generation unafraid to fight for what we believe in.”

If ACT BLUE rings any bells, it is the Democrats’ online fundraising scheme, which House investigators believe has been “channeling large, illegal foreign contributions into Democratic Congressional candidate coffers by taking names and addresses of actual American citizens and attaching them to Democrat campaigns as if they are small dollar donors when in actuality these folks have no idea their identities are being misused this way.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson said “it looks to be a money-laundering operation involving foreign nationals.”
Congressman Langworthy (R-NY) and House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) are leading an Oversight Committee investigation into potential fraud and illicit financial activity linked to ActBlue campaign contributions. In a letter to U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the lawmakers requested all suspicious activity reports (SARs) related to suspicious financial activity.
Someone with the authority to question Senator Wiener needs to get him on the record about the real intent of his bill after hooking up with ACTBLUE and the Center for Climate Integrity.
Senator Wiener says Senate Bill 222, “will ensure that the fossil fuel industry and those harmed by climate change disasters” will be made whole.
Senate Bill 222, “the Affordable Insurance and Climate Recovery Act,” which “will ensure that the fossil fuel industry and those harmed by climate change disasters,” will pay for the damages he says.
As if that wasn’t outrageous enough, hiding in his bill is a Minority Report type of thought crime – punishment for speaking “misinformation or disinformation” about “the connection between its fossil fuel products and climate change and extreme weather or other events attributable to climate change.”
Wiener’s SB 222 hasn’t been heard in a committee yet – it has been assigned to the Judiciary and Insurance committees. The proposed law is outright madness, making “fueling” climate change with “pollution” an actual crime and then charging oil companies of knowingly committing that crime.

California is at a crossroads. ActBlue, USAID, foreign cash, fake polls- some of the tools used to control politics in this state are all being wielded to fundamentally change our way of life by eliminating the use of fossil fuels, and cause a collapse of our electrical grid, grinding the state to a stop.
Pure bunk. Weiner needs to go. His antics border on corruption.
This is HUGE and very disturbing. And by the way, without the investigative work of Katy Grimes we wouldn’t have known about it. Wiener and his nonsense about this was preposterous on its face, of course, but everything he does is preposterous, so we just thought he was going further down the Dem desperation rabbit hole, as so many Dems are doing now. I sincerely hope our new administration learns of this outrage. We can’t go on this way, not for one more minute. This crap has gone W-A-Y too far.
With the democrat fundraising spigot currently being turned off this looks like a step towards providing a place and cause to prime the pump and to get the money flowing again. What better place than California and a liberal favorite punching bag (big oil) to get the troops motivated again. The only problem is that daily the Trump Administration is pushing the issue all over the country and is shutting down the flow of free taxpayer money (democrats don’t like to use their own money for causes). My bet is that groups like Act Blue and the folks at Data for Progress are going to continue to dry up and lose relevancy. The big lie over 2020 is coming to a head. Newsom and the California establishment’s days in office are short.
We need to instead hold Democrats like Gavin Newsom and Scott Wiener responsible for turning California into a disaster with their failed policies. This state has become a disastrous nightmare and it’s nothing like the California that I grew up in. The Democrat’s far-left radical foot soldiers who are often violent seem to have taken over the Nextdoor app here in Sacramento with daily postings about upcoming demonstrations. Today there is a posting from a Kim Coleman Berger in Colonial Manor pushing “The Peoples Union 24 Hour Economic Boycott” on Friday, Feb. 28 and the poster that was uploaded has bold red lettering on a black background with clenched fists in each corner. There were a 120 heart likes and 62 comments when last checked.
Oooh, that’s not good, is it, Samantha? But maybe they were fake heart likes and fake comments. Could be, let’s hope!
Wonder where this foreign money could come from? Which country might benefit both from societal disruption and the push for electric vehicles and more solar panels? I’m thinking the same one that brought Eric Swalwell his Fang Fang and Dianne Feinstein her longtime chauffeur.

Ah yes, the tried-and-true psychological technique of behavior/thought manipulation IS alive and well. Simply put, the US against THEM strategy. Defining THEM as ‘Big, Bad ________’ sets the stage. I, along with Millions (many of which ARE Retirees living on fixed incomes) have stock portfolios incorporating Oil company stocks. Why ??? Because they ALMOST ALL return some of their ‘Newsome annointed windfall profits’ BACK to the shareholders in the form of ‘dividends’. Chevron ‘CVX’ at a shareprice of $155.95 currently earns you 4.37% ‘interest’ on your money. My HYSA at Capital One is only returning 3.70% and THAT rate falls as the Fed Funds rate ticks ever so slowly downward. So the question king gavin needs to answer is : What happens to the fixed incomes of MILLIONS of retired (non California) Americans if he continues his quest to slay the windmills of windfall profits by the Big, BAAAD oil companies ??? Ohhhh well, maybe the price of cat food won’t be affected by the avian bird flu ‘fake epidemic’ (google Nebraska chicken farmers), because, you know, people gotta eat, right ???
