California Rep. Eric Swalwell is First Democrat to Drop Out of Presidential Race

Several national polls showed Swalwell at a stunning 0%

Just two weeks ago during the Democratic presidential debate, the little-known Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) told former Vice President Joe Biden to “pass the torch.”

WaPo reported: “I was 6 years old when a presidential candidate came to the California Democratic convention and said it’s time to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans,” Swalwell said. “That candidate was then-senator Joe Biden. Joe Biden was right when he said it was time to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans 32 years ago. He’s still right today.”

Even funnier was the headline: “Who is Eric Swalwell? And why did he just tell Joe Biden to ‘pass the torch’?”

Swalwell announced Monday that he was dropping out of the Democratic race for President. Many wondered why he even ran for the nation’s highest office. He showed at a stunning 0% in several national polls, and it was reported in May Swalwell had accumulated massive credit card debt, had never paid off his student loans, and cashed out his pension despite earning $174,000 a year since 2013.

Daily Caller reporter Chuck Ross Tweeted:  So which Democrat will pick up Eric Swalwell’s voter (aka Eric Swalwell)?

There were plenty of cringe-worthy moments in Swalwell’s “long shot” campaign, especially when he discussed his plan for confiscating “assault-style weapons” and total gun control of the entire nation.

Especially goofy was when Rep. Eric Swalwell unveiled his gun-control plan at a NRA protest with just 18 attendees, in front of the NRA headquarters, California Globe reported. “Democrat Presidential hopefuls advocate for Ban of scary looking ‘Military-Style’ Assault Weapons.” The NRA had some fun with the “protest” and posted photos to Twitter:

Last year, Swalwell said the U.S. government would use its nuclear weapons in a hypothetical war against Second Amendment supporters refusing to give up their firearms, Fox News reported. “His outlandish comment came after a gun-rights advocate pointed out that he once called for gun owners to surrender their assault weapons.”

“So basically @RepSwalwell wants a war. Because that’s what you would get. You’re outta your f—— mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the [government] all the power,” Joe Biggs tweeted at Swalwell.

This prompted Swalwell to defend himself, saying it would be a “short war” because “the government has nukes,” implying the government would use its nuclear arsenal against its own citizens.

Swalwell doubled down on “Russian interference” in the 2016 presidential election, and constantly claimed President Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russian government… even after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report was unable to establish any evidence. Swalwell even continued to say the president acts in the interests of Russia, and not of the U.S.

Sad but funny is this Tweet from Jake Wilkins:

Swalwell’s announcement came Monday, just as it was reported that far left a hedge fund manager, billionaire and climate change zealot Tom Steyer started making noise again that he may decide to enter the 2020 presidential race.  Steyer has spent millions of dollars on ads demanding President Trump’s impeachment. “This is a message for leaders of the Democratic Party. For over two years, this president has broken the law, and nothing happened,” the ad, released by Steyer’s Need to Impeach organization, says.

  1. Thanks for covering the comedy aspect of Swalwell’s ridiculous campaign.
Swalwell and Steyer are both silly and arrogant beyond belief.
