Mask Up San Francisco… and Just Shut Up

‘The evidence has been stable and clear that masks do not work to control the virus and they can be harmful and especially to children’

There are currently 33 people hospitalized in San Francisco with COVID, KRON reports.

“The 7-day average test positivity rate is currently at 6.5%.”

Naturally, the San Francisco Department of Public Health is recommending that people begin wearing masks again because… COVID!

In a post on X/Twitter, SFDPH recommended people “consider” wearing masks in crowded indoor spaces.

She looks happy, no? Just imagine the perioral dermatitis rash growing around her mouth.

“Make this summer a healthy one for yourself and others,” the department tweeted. “With COVID-19 circulating, please consider wearing a well-fitted mask in crowded indoor spaces.”

Quick to throw a roadblock up for anti-maskers, blue-checked Pantéa Javidan, JD, PhD, Faculty & Research Fellow at Stanford’s Center for Human Rights and International Justice, arrogantly replied and posted: “Since disinformation appears like clockwork under these posts, the preponderance of scientific studies show that masks work…” She added several links to studies, including a lengthy study by the American Society for Microbiology, with hundreds of citations, researchers from Canada and New Zealand, which concluded:

“The time is well overdue for international policy bodies to acknowledge the totality of evidence on the science of masks and masking and to show leadership in providing such messaging to policymakers, clinicians, and the public.”

Ms. Javidan included a mask study from the Lancet, which was embarrassingly discredited during the Covid flu after being forced to retract a large study on hydroxychloroquine. “In what would be a death blow to public trust of HCQ, the prestigious Lancet journal published a massive worldwide study that purported to show excessive deaths in patients treated across six continents — only to have the paper later retracted,” Dr. Peter McCullough said in the Hill in 2020. “The New England Journal of Medicine had a similar unprecedented retraction — more evidence of HCQ becoming a political football in medical science.”

Dr. McCullough said the studies were fraudulent and discredited within a few weeks.

Quite notably, The Brownstone Institute published an article in 2021 by epidemiologist Dr. Paul Alexander, which provided 167 different studies proving “the evidence has been stable and clear that masks do not work to control the virus and they can be harmful and especially to children.”

“According to the latest city data, there are currently 33 people hospitalized in San Francisco with COVID. The 7-day average test positivity rate is currently at 6.5%.” I actually looked at the SFDPH which reports 6.1% test positivity.

Whoa. There are 33 people hospitalized with Covid in San Francisco. I count 9 hospitals in San Francisco, and double that in the region – East Bay, South Bay, Oakland and Berkeley, likely able to handle this covid “outbreak.”

The San Francisco Department of Public Health never wanted to give up its control during Covid – they were one of the most stringent, controlling public health agencies in the state.

With on 33 people hospitalized with/for the Covid flu, they might want to shift focus on the real public health crises in the City by the Bay – 806 total drug overdoses occurred in 2023, or the 60% of all homeless people who were offered shelter and refused help.

Wearing masks is unhealthy, bad public policy and frankly, government controlled performance art.

As the Globe reported, in 2023, San Francisco has, on an average night, 3,400 homeless in shelter beds, with another 4,400 on the street.

That’s a human crisis; 33 people sick with a flu in the hospital can be effectively treated – but overdose cases and drug addicted humans living on filthy streets is a crisis, and something the San Francisco Department of Public Health should be prioritizing.

Lastly, there have been hundreds of scientific studies debunking masking as means to prevent the spread of Covid and other flu-like viruses.

The most thoroughly extensive, comprehensive study is the Cochrane study was done in February 2023:

We identified 78 relevant studies. They took place in low‐, middle‐, and high‐income countries worldwide: in hospitals, schools, homes, offices, childcare centres, and communities during non‐epidemic influenza periods, the global H1N1 influenza pandemic in 2009, epidemic influenza seasons up to 2016, and during the COVID‐19 pandemic. We identified five ongoing, unpublished studies; two of them evaluate masks in COVID‐19. Five trials were funded by government and pharmaceutical companies, and nine trials were funded by pharmaceutical companies.

…wearing a mask may make little to no difference in how many people caught a flu‐like illness/COVID‐like illness (9 studies; 276,917 people); and probably makes little or no difference in how many people have flu/COVID confirmed by a laboratory test (6 studies; 13,919 people).

As the Globe reported March 1, 2023 Gov. Gavin Newsom finally ended California’s COVID-19 State of Emergency.

“Or did he?” we asked.

There are several reasons why we asked, and two in particular stand out: Masking and his new Orwellian “SMARTER Plan.”

“The SMARTER Plan is not just for COVID-19. We can use these strategies and systems for future emergencies,” which still requires shots and masks.

As the Globe reported, The California Department of Public Health still had masking orders in place until April 2, 2023, claiming, “California has used science to guide our health protection strategies throughout the pandemic.”

“A universal indoor masking requirement was reinstated on December 15, 2021, to add a layer of mitigation as the Omicron variant,” the CDPH says.

Science.

Currently the CDPH website states: “This guidance is no longer in effect and is for historical purposes only.”

But the masking guidelines are still there – I’ll spare you the photos of mask-caused perioral dermatitis rash and mouth sores.

  1. These bureaucrats have taken nearly 5 years of our lives with arbitrary rules on virus mitigation.
    Just say no!
Funny not funny my brother was upset people in Costco were not masked up. He was upset people were coughing and sneezing in the aisles! My point is many people have been psychologically damaged and traumatized by unproven diktats!
I guess the government experiments were successful on some of the population.
We are a strong species and we should act as if we are!
I would advise people yo dust off their bible and find strength. God tells us we need not be afraid 365 times in the Bible!

    1. Spot on Cali Girl! I have friends and relatives who will still not meet with me because I was never vaccinated for the Wuhan. Every day I still see people driving alone wearing masks. Some are even driving with rubber gloves.

  2. Elections are coming up and right on que Demoncrats and their stooges will soon be mandating masks, social distancing, deadly “vaccine” shots, and lockdowns? No doubt mail order ballots are probably already printed up and ready to be distributed? Who knows, they may even cancel the elections?

  3. There is no test.
    There is no cure.
However, if you lined up and rolled up your sleeve.
You were given Myocarditis and HIV instead.
    Remember
Elected officials and lots of government employees skipped it.
Hopefully Katy you took a pass on the wef reduction plan.
