California State Senator Scott Wiener is done waiting on Nancy Pelosi to retire from Congress. He wasn’t supposed to announce a run until 2028. Wiener, known for his contentious and controversial legislation, no doubt saw weakness in Nancy Pelosi, 85, who already announced that she’s running in both 2026 and 2028.
“He’s running in 2026, sources say San Francisco’s state senator previously said he would wait for Pelosi to retire from Congress, but polling and a progressive challenger changed the game,” Josh Koehn with the San Francisco Standard reported.

“Sources close to Wiener told The Standard that the emergence of progressive candidate Saikat Chakrabarti — a centimillionaire who worked in tech before serving as a campaign manager and chief of staff to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — has been a motivating factor in Wiener’s decision to run.”
Chakrabarti, described as “Zohran Mamdani lite” already announced he is running against Pelosi.
So the choice is bad or worse. Awful or less awful. Dreadful or less dreadful. When will California voters recognize that having “bad” and “less bad” as our only choices for elected lawmakers is no way to live?

Wiener’s political priorities included honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Drag Nuns and Trans People, which I covered when the California Senate LGBTQ Caucus held a “Recognition Ceremony” Honoring Drag Nuns and Trans People in 2023. It was like something out of the 9 Circles of Hell in Dante’s Inferno.
The ceremony quickly devolved into LGBTQ sufferer month, when lawmakers, signaling their undaunted virtue, claimed that the LGBTQ community is unsafe, has no freedoms, live in danger, are victims, and are harmed… because of right wing extremists.
His “Scott Wiener for Congress” website is already up and running. Anyone unfamiliar with the LGBTQIA+ lawmaker should look at his legislative history and voting record rather than relying on this fairytale:
“For the past 26 years, Senator Scott Wiener has worked day and night for San Francisco, never giving up until the job is done. As a State Senator, former member of the Board of Supervisors, and longtime community leader, he has championed progressive policies on housing, healthcare access (including for mental health and drug addiction), public transit, climate action, criminal justice reform, civil rights, consumer protection, and other critical issues.”

This may have been one of the most abhorrent bills Senator Wiener ever authored, and Governor Gavin Newsom signed. Senate Bill 145 lowered the penalties for adults who have sex with same-sex minors. SB 145 allows a 24 year old to have sex with a 14 year old and escape a felony conviction and requirement to be a registered sex offender.
Wiener’s history of fetish legislation should be a disqualification, as well as his legislation to upend law and order. If San Francisco wants his influence, he should have remained County Supervisor, because Wiener’s gruesome legislative history has left an indelible mark on California.

This is certainly true, and so grateful (again) to Katy Grimes for covering it, that Scott Wiener’s ‘fetish legislation’ ALONE is more than sufficient to disqualify him for elected office as we speak, never mind to pursue his grand dream of elbowing the aged and aging Rep Nancy Pelosi out of the way so he can run for her congressional seat. I suppose his announcement now for a 2026 run includes a hope on his part that Pelosi will croak or become disabled in the meantime and Scott will have a clear field. Nothing like making Nancy Pelosi look like a sympathetic figure, Scott Wiener! Which is what he has done. Who would have thought?

The federal government cannot interfere in state governance beyond the powers granted by the Constitution. The Tenth Amendment reserves powers not delegated to the federal government to the states, including broad “police powers” over public health, safety, and welfare, which means governors operate independently in these domains. Either Eyeinthesky never took a civics class or maybe failed it?

For starters Donald Trump’s failure to legitimately halt the decommissioning and dismantling of the Carson Wilmington refinery was in itself a travesty. The president has enormous powers pertinent to national security and the preservation of critical infrastructure. Trump violated the constitution by bombing Iran but did so anyway thus violating the constitution: For this alone Trump should be impeached. Iran poses no threat to America. Trump a stodge/shill for those who lust for eternal wars and sadly the American populace to nieve to realize America is being played to extinction. The closure of the Wilmington and Carson refineries was made during Biden regime. Phillips 66 is a publicly traded company. The U.S. government does not own or operate the Carson-Wilmington refinery and federal agencies like the EPA and Department of Energy set national standards but do not control individual refinery operations. The Wilmington and Carson refineries closure was a corporate decision and not a regulatory shutdown so the federal government cannot simply reverse it without extraordinary legal or economic intervention. Those refineries only produce about 8% of California’s gasoline and are over 100 years old with outdated infrastructure. The refineries faced rising operational costs due to onerous regulations stemming from the anti-petroleum policies of your master Hair-gel Hitler Newsom and his hand picked stooges that he installed at CARB, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and the California Energy Commission.
As for the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities, it stopped a criminal Islamic thug regime from increasing tensions in the region. Many presidential administrations in the past have taken similar unilateral actions using their authority as Commander in Chief. Obama famously authorized U.S. military intervention in Libya in 2011 in response to the actions of Muammar Gaddafi without congressional approval. You probably had no problem with that presidential use of power because it was your deep-state master Obama?
Finally, get it through your THICK head that a president has limited authority to directly stop or control state governors. If a governor were suspected of sedition then federal law enforcement could arrest them but only if an arrest warrant has been issued by a judge. Sedition, under U.S. law, involves conspiring to overthrow the government or incite rebellion through violence or unlawful means, and no evidence has yet been presented to substantiate such a charge against Hair-gel Hitler Newsom in a court of law.
