New ‘Porn-in-Schools Toolkit’ Website Now Live

Help for parents navigating obscene and pornographic library and textbooks

By Katy Grimes, July 24, 2023 12:30 pm

The Globe recently reported on the new BookCheck toolkit website for parents by the Capitol Resource Institute, to assist parents through the process of removing obscene, sexually graphic and pornographic materials from their public schools.

That new website is now live and located at TakeBacktheClassroom.com.

Across the country, parents have protested the exposure of their children to obscene, pornographic books grooming their children, in school libraries and classrooms. At issue is exposing children to sexually explicit materials without parental knowledge or consent or ability to opt out.

The mainstream media claims parents are demanding book banning, but that is purposefully untrue.

The Globe talked with Karen England, President of the Capitol Resource Institute who said parents may still think that this is not happening in their schools, but it is – even in some off the nicest locations and cities in the state.

The website offers links to different states, and within those states, the school districts and schools. You can click on one of the schools to see which pornographic, sexually explicit books are in their libraries.

This is the link to the California schools page of books.

In the Elk Grove Unified School District in Sacramento, at Elk Grove High School is the book “Flamer,” which takes place during the summer between middle school and high school for Aiden Navarro, who is going away at camp. “Everyone’s going through changes―but for Aiden, the stakes feel higher. As he navigates friendships, deals with bullies, and spends time with Elias (a boy he can’t stop thinking about), he finds himself on a path of self-discovery and acceptance.”

The book is cartoon drawings of Aiden’s experiences, but primarily about his sexual thoughts and unbelievably sexualized experiences at camp. It’s graphic – in drawing and language including lessons on masturbation, group masturbation, and Aiden’s reactions to watching his dad’s porn movies. I can’t include any of the pages here as they are so salacious and indecent. But you can have a look yourself here.

The Los Gatos Unified School District is home to many of Ellen Hopkins’ eyebrow raising sexual books, including “Glass,” about a teenage girl with a baby, addicted to crank, who performs various sex acts for drugs.

“We endeavor to include as many school districts as possible as information becomes available. If you do not see your district already listed, please use this form to request an audit so that we can add that information to our database,” England told the Globe.

Montecito High School in San Diego County offers 3 Ellen Hopkins books – “Glass,” “Burned,” and “Perfect,” and “PUSH,” which has graphic descriptions of rape/sex by a teen girl who has been raped for years by her father.

TakeBacktheClassroom.com is for the taxpaying parents and community members who want to stop school libraries from exposing obscene and pornographic books to the children. England said these graphic books are probably already in your public-school libraries and/or they are being used in the classroom.

“More than 40 states have exempted public schools and public-school libraries from the laws that prohibit distribution of obscene material to a minor.”

“We thank you for your interest in Take Back the Classroom, and we stand ready to assist you in the fight to protect our children.”

England says to complete one full school book audit costs about $500. They exist on donations and said any contributions toward the TakeBacktheClassrooms project will help them continue. She said asking 10 or more families in the district to share this cost works very well, and the information is accessible to all.

However, a donation is not required to access information on this website, as they are providing the library and textbook resources free of charge.

  1. Thank you Katy for this informing article and for the link to the website. It is sad and disgusting what has happened to our public schools and that we have to resort to this! It was not that long ago that having sexually explicit books in our schools would be a crime.

    1. Yes, John, I’m with you. Appreciate Katy so much for keeping us up to date on this stuff and how to go up against it; a very long surreal nightmare but we can’t wake up from it.
John, imagine when we were in school what would have happened to a kid, a classmate, who simply DARED to bring this stuff INTO THE SCHOOL and was caught. Now it is being force-fed to kids by the ADULTS IN CHARGE. All of them. Politicians, state office holders, school teachers and administrators worst of all. The ones who are supposed to be PROTECTING children. How sick can these people get?

      1. Showandtell when I was a kid you had to have WRITTEN PERMISSION from your parents to attend a sex education class in high school. I remember a kid who brought a Playboy magazine to school and he was given a suspension. Now you can’t trust some teachers because they are woke compromised. There are some good teachers don’t get me wrong, but if this crap had been going on when I was a kid there would be teachers and administrators in prison. I shake my head asking what the hell has happened?

        1. I know, John. I remember the same kinds of things when I went to public school.
I agree about the good teachers, but even they will have to knuckle under to the state curriculum (or quit) if things go Newsom’s and Bonta’s and Thurmond’s way with the legislation that is poised for passage in August such as AB 1078, which we have to stop. There are other similar bills too, if you can believe it!
Parents need to seriously consider home-schooling if at all possible. I keep hearing about how it is nowhere near as difficult and time-consuming as one might think. And that there are tons of how-to and support organizations out there.

  2. According to the website, Rio Americano High School in the San Juan School District in Sacramento County has the Ellen Hopkins book “PUSH” which has graphic descriptions of rape/sex by a teen girl who has been raped for years by her father. California is one of the 40 states which have exempted public schools and public-school libraries from the laws that prohibit distribution of obscene material to a minor. It’s time concerned parents and taxpayers put a stop to this abuse of taxpayer funds?

      1. insanity is freaks like you thinking they have any place in a 21st-century, scientifically-advanced, industrial society.

  3. oh God forbid we have books in school libraries that accurately reflect the appalling, and all-too-common atrocity, of child sexual abuse by parents and putative caregivers.

Apparently, when the party in question isn’t gay or gender nonconforming, the lynch mob that shrieks “GrOoMeRs!!!111!” is not friggin interested.

    curse you nazi swine.

  4. Thank you, Katy, for being at the forefront of these issues and keeping us informed. At this rate, it’s going to become more manageable for takebacktheclassroom to list the schools that do not include such books.
